Brainstorming for the new RP, Kikiyama. Plot, backstory, races(?), areas, the region... etc etc. I'll probably DP with my ideas. NOTES: This is a Pokemon RP, inspired by Yume Nikki. Look up Loudman's Let's Play of YN if you don't know about it. The RP MUST start in the middle of a large-scale battle. |

Spin, Gum-- HEY A JALAPENO
|
Area wise... areas are interconnected, and there are many doors to connect them to each other. Each area is radically different than the other: one world may be filled with grassy plains, and the next may be hazardous and unable to sustain life at all. The forms from Yume Nikki could exist in the Pokemon. For example, let's say I have an Ampharos. There's a door in front of me. By giving Ampharos a Magical Key Necklacetm, Ampharos's hand turns into a key, and it unlocks the door. Not the best example, but meh. |

Are we gonna have space travel of some kind? If it's a Yume Nikki-esque dream world? I've always wondered about those little UFOs that appear near the crater on Mars if you use the cat effect... (I call the Masada character) We'll have to go out on a limb for the effects. Pokemon are so... well, magical as it is, it'd be kinda hard to think of effects that an existing species of Pokemon couldn't already accomplish. You could use an Ampharos' tail instead of the Lamp effect, ride on the back of a water Pokemon instead of the Frog effect, have a Grimer... exist instead of the Poop Hair effect... You get my drift. The key is actually a good example, I can't think of any Pokemon that could function as a key. |

So, do you guys want to use regular Pokemon or fakemon? Maybe both? Like, a new region with the old pokes + some new ones? |

New region sounds good. Everyone loves using fakemon. We'll need some kind of moderation on the fakemon though, we don't want anything too uber and unreasonable. It's a crazy dreamworld, yes, but roleplaying isn't fun when the characters are perfect or overpowered. Maybe we could come up with some crazy versions of old Pokemon. Like those big-nosed guys in Monochrome World... remind me of Nosepass. |

I think common sense is good enough moderation for Fakemon. I know none of the old PMF members are Poweplayers/Godmodders/Anyone who would make an uber fake. And everyone else seem sensible too. Also, I think more fakemon than just a few. It's a crazy deam world. Weird Fakemon will fit it better than trying to fit in regular pokemon. So instead of using Charmander as the lamp, make a lamp pokemon that would fit better. Just an example. I'm not saying Fakes only, just have more than 'a few'. |

PG - Mixes would be possible, but I'd rather not have them (to promote fakemon making) Also, agreed with Spooky. I don't think anyone here is going to powerplay. Anyways: I think moves should correspond to Effects. Here's my list. Frog - Surf, Waterfall Umbrella - Rain Dance Hat and Scarf - Any Ice-type move besides Hail Yuki-onna - Hail Medamaude - Teleport Knife - Any slashing/claw move (Night Slash, Shadow Claw, Slash, etc) Fat - Belly Drum Midget - Minimize Flute - Any 'sound' move - basically any move that is stopped by Soundproof Neon - Conversion, Conversion2, Camouflage. Any Poke with the Color Change ability can automatically use this. Nopperabou - Destiny Bond, Grudge, Spite Severed Head - False Swipe Towel - Fire Spin, Flame Wheel, Magma Storm (dries you off I guess) Cat - Charm, Attract, Captivate Lamp - Sunny Day Bicycle - Quick Attack, Extremespeed Long Hair & Blonde Hair - Growth Poop Hair - Any Poison-type attack Triangle Kerchief - Calm Mind, Ominous Wind Witch - Memento, Nasty Plot Demon - Any Electric-type move Buyo Buyo - Swagger Stoplight - any Speed-lowering move All effect moves, when used for that purpose, don't have the regular move ability (EG Memento doesn't kill you). If there's an overlap in effects (Stoplight/Hat and Scarf both use Icy Wind), just pick the one you want to use. The effects will have more effects than they do ingame, for example Buyo Buyo could be used to make attacks harmlessly bounce off of you and Triangle Kerchief would make nobody able to see you when you turned invisible. |

lol completely new idea. Thought up duiring science, but no reason why. PLEASEREAD THE WHOLE POST BEFORE COMMENTING ON WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN, ELSE YOU MAY MISUNDERSTAND. Thankyou. Start with a pokemon, or two, (if we're beginning in the midst of a battle) Anyway, it can be regular, fake, mix. Those only. There are 'effects', which can be found throughout the region, and are not extremely rare, but not very common. These effects are similar to TM's/HM's. However, instead of teaching a new move, they are closer to the 'Upgrade', in that they change the pokemon that they are, uhm, attached(?) to. So, for example, if you used the Bicycle effect, the pokemon would become kind of cyrborg-y/robotic/mechanic and have some sort of transport with wheels. Something like that. That one is slightly odd, and not a great example. Effects: Similar to TM's HM's. Some can be used multiple times, others are single use. Some can be removed later, most can be 'overwritten' by new effects. In some cases mulitple effects can be in use at once (use common sense here). Also, there will be many more than just the effects in Yume Nikki. These will not replace TM's/HM's. To summarize; -This method will, in a way, turn every pokemon into an Eevee of sorts -Meaning that pokemon can change when an item (called an effect) in used upon them -These are similar to TM'/HM's, but dop not teach moves. They change the pokemon's form -Some are re-usable. Some are not -Some can be removed, others not -Sometimes, mulitple effects can be used at once -Most can be overwritten by a new effect -So as the player travels around, they find effects which they can, if they so wish, use on their pokemon. Okay, I don't think I missed anything. Please post what you think I mean, as I want to know I got my ideas across correctly. Please post if you do not understand something. Thankyou. ;) |
