Virus plots are ehh (/hypocrite); how do you fight a virus?

...I can see making that work, though, sort of: the hostility people show towards each other causes the legends to fight more, which results in distortions in space, causing the dimension to fluctuate yet again. I can see that being implemented as having random tiles suddenly missing, leaving impassable blank spaces. Only by catching the local legend can you stabilize the space and get rid of the virus-corrupted squares, allowing passage. Particularly conflict-ridden areas (4chan, MMOs) are rife with the virus-holes. This also adds a sense of urgency to the league of restoration, and to your quest.

...I also propose having some other members of the league capture the legends; in fact, you should just be able to catch the last one. Wait, idea!

There are ten trainers in the Restoration force, give or take a few, and they're all established characters. Perhaps each specialize in a type. At their side, you battle the Continuation forces. Originally you'll just be challenging the Continuation grunts (let's call 'em something different, besides grunts; Continuation's no evil team) while the tougher members of the team take down the admins and the legends themselves. Later on you surpass your teammates, and end up taking down the final legend all by yourself.

:3?

YAY! I like that idea.

We should also combine the old idea that Shira and I had for our game - be able to fight your teammates for practice, with their levels going up as yours do.

I have one problem against Twitch's plot, actually:

If people had their memory wiped, I think they'd probably be too busy panicking and going "OMG WHO AM I AAAAAAAAAH" to really do anything. And in the case of most uniformed majority vs. informed minority cases, the uninformed majority is usually mainly idiots. Unless I'm reading something wrong.

As in, they know who they are, but not much else?

yeah, something like that. And they might not be too freaked out by the new places, as they would be familiar websites, maybe?

I was thinking about this, and thought of an idea:

What if the culprit behind the wormholes was a group of skilled hackers? They could easily create lots of spam and anger, and make it look as if the victim of the hacker had done it.

HUUUGE PLOT IDEA

With the revelation of Web 2.0 and sites like Facebook and MySpace, the Internet seems to be at peace. But all this data has caused the Internet to be come sentient, and the internet creates E, a self-aware program that travels the internet to see what goes on.

He slowly avsorbs all the anger, angst, whining, and hate on the webs, to the point in which it drives him insane. He tries to find a way to bring his twisted idea of peace to the Internet, until he suddenly gets a genius idea: why not do an Ozymandias?

Intent on "purifying" the net, E creates a virus form of himself. The E Virus moves toward anger and negative emotions. Upon reaching the host, E takes over the person's body and uses the person to spread the virus and wage war on the Internet.

A small community called Sprout Tower hears of this threat, and knowing they must do something, form a group of skilled trainers called the Sprouts, who are dedicated to stopping E from taking over the world. They proceeed in doing so, until E takes note; he spreads the virus towards an aide named Xia with the intent of stopping the Sprouts. Down one member, Seika, the leader, decides to recruit some members who would be less likely to catch the virus: trainers for the real world.

Naturally, she targets you and your rival-to-be.

Any good?

E sounds interesting. It could be a really cool villian... but we need to incorporate the legendaries somehow. Each Legendary represents a website as well as a piece of E's psyche?
