OK, at risk of ruining a book with my rubbish overview, the Old Kingdom series is about a place where the Dead come back to haunt the living, or are brought back by necromancers and the Abhorsen has to deal with the problem using the bells of a necromancer and Charter Magic. Necromancers also use Free Magic and there are Free Magic creatures of varying power. The Keys to the Kingdom series is about... I'm not exactly sure how to explain it. Basically there's a place called the House, which is the centre of all Universes, and it has seven trustees, most of whom are evil and need defeating by Arthur, the Rightful Heir to the House. Don't be put off by my really bad summaries. They're much better than I've made them sound.

*Bumps* Yeah, my favourite charcters are Dustfinger from the Inkheart trilogy, because he's very unpredictable and an interestijng charcater, Hagrid from HP because he's just awesome and the only one of my favourite HP charcaters to survive the series, and Prosper from the Thief Lord because he has an awesome name.

I like Dustfinger from Inkheart, though I can't say whose my favorite. My favorite HP character has to be Fred. Hmmm, I like Reepicheep and Trufflehunter from Narnia. From Redwall, whoever is the 'main' badger in the book. I love the badgers. ![]() I'll have to think of more later... Oh, from The Book Thief, poor Rudy. |

Dustfinger is a good one. I also like some of the characters (Jack, Jason, and Seph) from the Warrior Heir. (Along with the wizard Heir and the Dragon Heir--the other books in the series). Bartimaeus from The Bartimaeus Trilogy was another good one. |

By your decisions you paint a portrait of Who You Are. ~ an uncommon dialogue Rescued by Death (43,000 words) | |

I think the most popular characters are complex characters (except for Fred, but he's just funny). Characters who betray and lie but are still the MC's ally, kind of, like Dustfinger. |

Complex characters are great for stories. They add a certain amount of uncertainty and unpredictablilty which I love. ![]() Snape from HP was a very complex complex-character. Who knew what he was thinking, eh? |
