This forum is not a chat or conversation thread, it's for debating topics that are opinionated or under discussion like: politics, rules, laws, forum stuff, things like Eragon etc, sports and anything else you wish to debate, but please don't spam and forum rules still apply. Pointers 1. Okay, when you're debating a subject MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT as otherwise you'll look a bit stupid. And be prepared to defend yourself as that's the point. 2. Don't contradict yourself, for the same reasons as above but also if you're supporting a side or subject and suddenly change your mind half-way through then there isn't much point in debating it is there? 3. No direct insulting on a member if they have a different opinion to you. This is a debate, if everyone thought the same things it wouldn't work. If this does start to happen I will stop debates and delete it from the forum, you have been warned, any insulting will be taken seriously. 4. Don't be a sore loser, just because you've lost doesn't mean everyone is against you or you have to get sore about it. If you do whine about it then you won't be popular in this area. Have fun and move on. 5. Also, if you win, don't brag or rub it in people's faces, they have feelings. Instead try to learn something from the debate and move on to something else. 6. This is only the internet, don't get too worked up about a debate, no one is going to die if people don't agree with you. You should enjoy debating, not crying. if someone dissagrees with you don't snap at them or call them 'stupid' cool off. Have some fun and if it gets too hot tthen walk away for a bit. 7. If you don't have an answer it's okay to say so, not everyone has the 'Great Book of Everything' learned by heart, if you don't know then don't be ashamed to say so. 8. Before you post a debate, check if it's already in the forum please as some subjects are bound to be repeated. 9. A rule of which I nicked from TW:
