Ok, so I love my main charecter, the only problem i have with her is transfering her personality into the story. She's supposto be a kinda loud person but not in an obnxious way and kinda moody and sarcastic.

I can't explain it that well but if she was a car she would be a really crappy car with no side mirrors and the side windows blacked out and what she lackes in speed she makes up for in refusing to take her foot off the gas. Ok, most horrible metaphore EVER.

Her name Is Virgina Dare and she basicilly is like her name sounds but with a soft side. I have no problem with the 'soft' pard of her but its the more daring, bold part I can't write.

If you somehow understood this jumble of words here is a cookie. :cookie:
if you can help i'll give you another 'cookie'

I try to put my character's personality into their dialogue. That's the easiest way. Also, sometimes characters have to stop and think about how they'll deal with a situation. Every character deals with situations and problems differently, so their personality will show.

Next time your character is faced with a decision of some kind, think about what she would do. Since you said Virgina Dare is bold and daring, maybe she would just charge ahead with things?

This depends on what POV you're in, but get in your character's head so that readers can see what she's thinking and how she perceives things, and they can figure out what kind of person she is based on that.

Good luck!

I might be about to repeat what Wannabe Writer just said, but anyway...

I tend to find adding the characters' thoughts helps with that. Such as if a character is in a situation where they have to say a certain thing although they really don't want to, I'll have contradicting thoughts, like I'll show that the person doesn't really believe what they're saying by what they think to themselves, etc. Such as for your character, her thoughts could be different depending upon if she was being "soft" or not. (I'm not great at explaining. I may be able to do it, but figuring out exactly how is a different story xD.) Or maybe you just haven't found the right situation to place her in yet. I don't do a lot of planning, and kind of just let my characters go, placing them in different situations and seeing what happens, so I never really have the problem of them turning out differently than I planned. It's really different for everyone, so my rambling may or may not be of any help to you.

Oh yes. My first novel plot was from when I was twelve. I ended up finally getting it how I wanted when I was sixteen. The novel I'm working on now had at least three totally different tries. I actually was going to just leave the prologue as a short story because I couldn't get it to work, but then two people thought I should continue it, and it finally worked. Go figure :p.
