Here's some questions for you: What's your favourite book? Who's your favourite author? What do you like to write - poetry, short stories, novels, etc?  I love the Harry Potter series. Its been a huge part of my life for over half my life. Does anyone else here love Hp? JK Rowling is my favorite author, of course. I've never finished anything other than a poem. I don't like genres. they are labels. lol I don't know what genera I write. My NaNo story is going to be realistic fiction.                Ahhhhhhh! I love the smiles way too much. They need to come to life. And please define swearing. And chatspeak. I've kinda broken both those rules already.

Swearing is the same as in real life - words you wouldn't yell at your parents for example - we don't allow it here except in pieces of work like stories or poems, etc. Direct insults are taken very seriously here. Chatspeak is like IM language - where letters in words are replaced by numbers or taken out. This is chatspeak --> im goin 2 c u + tommy tonite 4 sk8in, cnt w8 lmao!!!!! I haven't seen you swear or use an overload of chatspeak here, so don't worry. Harry Potter was my first obsession - I absolutely loved them. I read the first two books when I was six and didn't stop reading them. They got me into reading and from then on, I've read every book I could get my hands on.

Oooh, me! Sometimes my genres are a little complicated, too... I could just call them middle-grade fiction, but there's also sometimes mystery, paranormal, or fantasy elements. The smilies are awesome.

Omg I have the exact same Hp story as you! I was also 6 when I read Harry Potter. By second grade I was reading astronomy books. How old is everyone here? Omg I just said omg. I hate it when I say omg! I'm weird lol. xD |

Hehe. I'm seventeen as of last month. It feels most strange, I can tell you. HP had been out for seven months when I first read it, so I'm proud to say that I was a fan before the phenomenon. My mum read it before me, to check that it was okay for me to read, hehe. I remember I started to read it the day before we moved house and I spent the whole week afterwards sitting under the kicthen table surrounded by unpacked boxes, reading and re-reading.
