Which is better, a Mac desktop/laptop, or a Windows desktop/laptop? Why? Which do you prefer? |

I have a Windows desktop and a Mac laptop, but I'm not sure which is best. Mac wins with the internet for me -- no viruses and the lark, but I haven't got my laptop onto the 'net yet to test this. I like Windows because of my MS Word 08, but I also have that for Mac, the problem is it won't work on my Mac until I upgrase the OS X which I can only do on the internet. I also like Windows Media player a lot better than iTunes. So, for me, there's good things and bad things, I love my Mac to bits and can't wait to get upgrades and downloads for it. If all that workd out, then I think Mac will be my favourite. So much goes wrong with Windows computers (Viruses, Malware . . . ). |

Windows. Why Windows? Because Windows can do everything a Mac can, and more. The only reason why Mac wins in some aspects is because its better at a handful of things than Windows, such as media editing. There also isn't a great variety of games for the Mac, so Macs are a no-go for gamers. As well as this, Apple is always bragging about how most of their programs are free. Guess why they're free? Because Macs themselves are so insanely overpriced (up-to-date ones are, anyway). It costs £950 for a new iMac (and there's always only one model of new iMac, you can only get an older model pre-owned, so Apple always make people spend as much as they can), which has the same tech specs of a Windows computer that would cost about £400. As for viruses, malware, spyware etc. yes, Macs are pretty much virus-free. There are viruses for Macs, but only a handful. And who can blame crackers (not hackers, no, get your technology terminology right) for wanting to make viruses for Windows-based computers, seeing as Macs have less than 20% of the world's computer market? But the thing is, viruses can easily be avoided on Windows if you don't go around on the internet doing stupid things like opening banner ads and downloading things from spam e-mails, and upgrading your computer protection software every week, at the least. People complain about how Windows get viruses all the time because those people who get the viruses are idiots who mess around on the internet downloading everything they see and not bothering to upgrade their protection because they can't be bothered to click on a few buttons. So, yeah, Windows, ftw. |
