Books to Films?

Recently, a lot of books have been made into films and I know plenty of people always say that the book is better than the film, but what do you guys think?

Are there any book adaptions that you think are better/worse as films, or books you think should be made into films?

I think they should make the Lionboy Trilogy (by Zizou Corder) into movies. Sometimes I can just picture what the movie would be like.
The Harry Potter movies in particular weren't as good as the book. Neither was Inkheart. Since the books are so long, they can't pack all of the details, scenes, and characters into a movie that's two to three hours long.

Yeah, Harry Potter was too long for them to take everything and it wasn't as good. Another book made into a movie was Ella Enchanted, which was completely different than the book. It's like all they took from the book was the characters' names and the basic plot. (The book was much better.)

And I can't think of anything else right now, but I usually like the books better than the movies, although something I would go see if they made it into a movie is any one of the books in the Warrior series.

I loved the Lionboy series, so I totally agree with you, Writer, they would be brilliant. On the website it does mention a film but nothing's been said since that interview . . . Have you read their other book, Lee Raven? That's good too.

I also agree with Harry Potter. The third was a dissapointment to me. But I thought the sixth book was rubbish, but the film looks okay from the trailer, thoughI don't remember them blowing up a bridge in London . . .

I liked the Inkheart film, but I don't think they could ever make films that would match up to the Inkheart Trilogy's brilliance anyway, it's just too good as a book. :D

Have any of you seen Bridge to Terebithia? I thought that was a lot better as a film. The book was too jilted and muddled, like the author hadn't really thought about what she was writing.

As much as I love Narnia, I also think that Prince Caspian was a way better film. Epic without the pointless, silly old-English chatter with no relivance. :P

I've seen Bridge to Terebithia, but I haven't read the book so I can't say much about it. The trailers I kept seeing for the movie made me and my sister think it had a lot more to do with the kids creating their own world than it actually did, so we didn't like it too much, but eh.

And from the commercials I've seen I have a feeling the Inkheart movie won't be that much like the book, but it seems like it will be pretty good anyway. (I haven't seen it yet--it's not in theaters anymore here.)

Unfortunately the Harry Potter books was made into movies...and they weren't that good. :(

I think The Last Elf of The Warrior Heir should be made into a movie!

What are they about, Allyson?

Majyk: The Inkheart film is good in it's own way, but it's not as good as the book and it is fairly different too. But I'm still buying it when it comes out on DVD. :D

I've read Prince Caspian and I want to see the movie.
I've also read Bridge to Terebithia, but I haven't seen the movie. Everyone I know says that the movie is bad, just because Leslie dies.
I think they're going to make an animated Warriors movie... not sure...

Yeah, the Warrior Heir would be a good one, too. (I'm reading the last book now.)
