Is anyone interested in meeting up in the chatroom for word wars at 10pm GMT (4pm Central) on Saturday? I thought we could try and get as many people there as possible, so I'm sending an email out to all our members in case any of them are doing Nano, too. We should celebrate our first week of writing madness, so let me know if you can come or if another time is better (we can change it if lots of people can't make it).

Hey, new development on the advertising side - we're not on Twitter!

If any of you are on Twitter don't forget to follow Spattered_Ink on your profile. For now, I'll be posting updates and encouraging any followers to join the site, but in the furture I may offer other members here the chance to run it. First I'd like to see if this works.

There is a Twitter update widget linked to the submenu which shows all our recent updates.

It's an excuse to celebrate right?

Some of you might have noticed how difficult it is to critique on Spattered Ink?

Does the page always zoom to the top when you use the highlight, etc, buttons?

Well, I found a solution to this very annoying problem that makes critiquing a lot easier. All you need to do is quote the piece you want to critique and save your post. Then, you click the edit button on your post and you'll get the bigger version of the quick-post or first reply boxes, but this one won't zoom all over the place or go back to the begining when you use colour/bold to critique/comment.

Okay, some updates for today.

All of the board skins now work properly, and have working submenus so you can all now view the portal, calendar, rules and member lists! There's also a search function, but it's not brilliant. The portal is where you can see updates and statistics.

We also have a new chatroom which will stay so long as it's not missused -- all board rules apply there. If any missuse is reported then it will be deleted. Also, like with the chatbox, you must put your current username into the box, no pretending to be other members etc.
