I don't buy into the whole "end of the world" thing. The world doesn't end 'till I say it does!

I agree with Many, Castro has a bad rep in the US (as dose anyone frma commie background) but he did everything he could to prove communisim works. Got to give the man credit where it is due.
As pro-Cuba as I am, I have to say there are some major setbacks the CPC and Castro's government took. One would have to be the implementation of a one-party policy. Now I understand following the Soviet's example of a one-party state, but you cannot have democracy without allowing for all groups of thought to express themselves freely. The only time this made sense for Cuba to implement was during the 1960s and 1970s, when there were numerous attempts to overthrow Castro and his government. However, during the eighties and after the fall of the Soviet Union, it makes no sense to keep the political monopoly the CPC has.
Good point Comrade, Indeed such system only promote elites in a supposed communist society and not equality.
As Marx put it, "democracy is the road to socialism". Democracy must have multiple parties, without that, there is no democracy; without democracy, there is not socialism; without socialism, there is no communism.
