It was the talk outside that woke her up. Numerous excited voices talked, passing by in the street. "Did you hear it?" "Yes, yes!" "They left, and there´s lots left after them!" "Where?" "Come, I´ll show you!" Just a few seconds of silence before new ones came and talked again. "The news?" "Oh, yes, I´ve heard!" "Come, we can get something, too!" It was clear it was saphynes there. If it were people, one could easily hear their steps. Even if they would walk barefoot. These despite they were -according to the sound- running, could nearly not be heard at all. "Yea, yea, come, quick!" another passed quickly. Where was everybody going? Then, somebody opened the door. He didn´t even bother knocking. It was a young male saphyne. His clothes were old and torn, the only parts of them to be visibly taken care of were the pockets. Why? Well, this was a typical slum-dweller of Aiekara, and he needed places to put things he found into to carry them away. Probably a thief. Who else would live in this part of the city, anyway? "Hey, Kyara! Everybody is going behind the wall, you going too? They say there´s lots of stuff left there, from the earlier!" |

Kyara sighed deeply when she heard all the ruckus outside, turning around on her other side. They were so noisy here. When she started to listen to the noise, her annoyance quickly turned into curiosity. Since she got here, she had been surprised over and over. The city forcing people to leave, leaving a lot of valuable things behind. One of my best decisions, coming here she thought to herself. She looked up when the young saphyne burst into her little shelter she had found last night. 'Never heard of knocking' Kyara asked with a disapproving clack of her tongue though she was smirking. 'Ofcourse I'm going too, what do you think.' Kyara said, standing up and pulling her clothes a bit more decent. Her clothing were torn too from the long trips she had made, she had decided a long time ago that clothing with long sleeves were useless and she disregarded her shoes a long time ago too, too uncomfortable. She walked outside, starting to walk to the wall. After that she looked around, saphynes going in and out people's houses with more stuff than they could carry they almost looked like little children who just had some candy. Kyara walked passed all that though, going for the area where most of the traders lived. There's probably more wealth there she thought to herself. When she got there finally, she looked around first, stuffing her pocket with money and hanging herself with jewellery so it wouldn't take much place. After visiting a bunch of houses, her neck was full with golden and silver necklaces, countless bracelets and all of her fingers were full with rings. So far so good she thought to herself while raiding the places until she couldn't carry no more. |

The streets were full of saphynes gathering what was left in the abandoned houses. The ruins that were damaged during the siege were already plundered the moment Empire gave the rights to move around and do basically anything without a fear of persecution. So now, they literally stormed the untouched and still well-kept houses, carrying away the belongings, being watched by the people that were still left here. These streets were still alive, not like the damaged parts of the city near the walls. "...like vultures..." "Thieves..." "...finally shown what they are. Just give them the rights and see what happens," one of the men standing infront of his still running shop remarked bitterly when he saw Kyara. |

Kyara would walk outside the last house, quite pleased with the results. She could live with this very well for a couple of lazy months, if nothing goes wrong she thought to herself. She ignored most of the comments she heard, not even hearing it. She gave a wink to the trader in front of his shop when he commented directly on her, not able to resist some teasing once in a while. Kyara would walk to a quiet place, some alley where no one even looked at, people still busy with stealing from houses or staring at those people. She sat down there, starting to count her money and estimate how much money she could get from the jewellery. She put them in a bag she had carried along except for one. It was a thin silver bracelet with nothing else on it, kinda plain actually. But plain got it's charms too she thought to herself as she stood up. She stretched herself, a big smile on her face. I just found my favourite city she thought to herself. |

"Oh look, who do we have here?" she could hear a voice speaking from somewhere above her. A saphyne jumped down from the roofs, caught on a pole connecting two houses together and softly landed infront of her on all fours. "I haven´t seen you around yet," he raised back on two, measuring her with eyes. This one seemed a bit different from the others she saw today. He was taller and in general of stronger build than most of the saphyne-folk, one would say he had a more human-like figure, wouldnt it be for the other features that clearly gave away he is a saphyne. "I see you had a good hunt on what was left after the people?" he looked on the necklace, lashing with his tail. The stronger outlook wasn´t everything that was different. There was more of it - on his belt, he had two attached daggers. |

Maya looked up when she heard the voice, watching the saphyne move down the building. 'New in town' She said with a smirk, returning his measuring look with one of her own. 'It's like childplay out there now, you should search some for yourself too' She said with a wink, her hand resting casual at the end of her skirt where two daggers where positioned too. Maybe it didn't took her a lot of effort to get these treasures, but like hell she would give it to someone else without getting some money in return. 'So what do you want, roaming on the rooftops like that?' Maya asked with a wide smile while watching his every movement closely. |

"Oh, I don´t have the need to collect for me... I have my people to do that," he winked on her. "New in town, hmmm..." he seemed to be thinking and smiled back on her. "Roaming? Well call it however you want. In fact, I was interested if I´d catch somebody new in here. And look who i found..." he made several relaxed steps towards her, not showing any interest in the weapons he had visibly on him. He circled around. "Hmm... I wonder, would you be interested on joining a place where there is more of us? Saphynes, that is." |

What's in it for me?' Maya asked, moving with him to maintain the same distance. She liked to keep strangers at a safe distance. 'And why are you so interested in finding new people. The city seems big enough to me for sharing so that won't be a problem' Maya said, still looking at him with a smile, glancing around once a while to make sure there wasn't anybody else or he wasn't cornering her or something like that. |

"Heh, what´s in for you? Let me see... how long have you been in Aiekara?" he asked, eventually stopping and leaning towards a wall. "I won´t deny it, I don´t have too much to offer. But have you ever heard of the thief guilds in here? Humans started them a long time ago..." he spotted a coin on the ground, lifted it up and started flipping and catching it in hand. "There is one clear-saphyne guild in here. We gather together, we have strengh together. It had much more importance before the Empire game... they gave us plenty of rights and protection. But still... if you pact with us, you will know you´re not alone and have some force backing you. Also..." He caught the coin. "It is no secret that the regent is either dying or is already dead. And since he is out of the game, we, as one of the stronger guilds, should get to speak more. You go with us, you have your future. And about sharing... we get to do a bit more. You know... people forget about the older saphynes. They think we just disappear. The truth is a bit different." He paused for a while and flipped the coin again, raising back on feet from the wall. "Nikka Greymore, leader of Children of the Night," he said and bowed slightly. |

' I'm here a week now, give or take a few days' Maya said, she wasn't very interested in the concept of time. She followed the coin with her eyes for a little while before focussing back on his face. ' And what is the truth then what you are talking about?' Maya asked him. What he said did sound interesting, a guild was always easier to work with in such a city. But then again, she did just fine on her own at the moment. ' You are the leader of the thief guild?' Maya asked, raising a eyebrow when he said that. Well, you can't judge a book by it's cover or so they say. She returned the bow with a small bow of her own. 'In that case, a pleasure to meet you. I'm Maya.' 'But at the moment, I'm not too eager to join some guild and work myself up form the bottom. I'm doing just fine around here. So I'll keep that offer in the back of my mind, if you don't mind it.' Maya said with a small smile. Edited by Kyara, 6 Apr 2012, 02:02 PM.
