"...and so we ask you, what did your god, the so called... Yegash... do, when your lands were under siege? When your close ones, your children, your spouses and parents were dying? Did he truly just watch this, and haven't done anything? Do you wan't and trust in a god like that? Shouldn't you place your trust into somebody else, somebody who actually cares for his people?" - part of speech of one of the Dark Order representatives after Teimzurr civil war Originally, the humans of the Empire used to worship their god and believed creator - Yegash. Many temples were built for people to worship him and his statues, alongside Rheia's, were present in every city. A major change came together with the War of the Broken Alliance. Soon after king Iakon proclaimed himself the ultimate ruler, the organised and commonly present religion, together with its priests and temples, disappeared. People abandoned their faith in Yegash who didn't help them, and greatly forsaken his mother Rheia who seemed to stand behind the defence of their enemies. They rather shifted they belief into their Emperor, a living god who truly cared for his people. While the trust into Yegash never truly returned, a small portion of belief into Rheia in form of small statuettes present in Teimzurrian households, especially in the farmland countryside, did come back. These demonstrations of belief, while generally tolerated, often recieve bitter remarks and laugher of the dark mages. The temples of the gods were never restored, and any traveller can find many unkept, overgrown ruins scattered around the Empire, often desacrated or used for the needs of Dark Order. Opposite to that, the immensely strong cult of the Emperor lives on... < back to the main page of the Empire > |
