"We need to... but-" he covered his ears for a moment. The being let out a wave of ether out of its body, much like an untargeted canonade of strong spells. It dissolved in the air, yes, but... It also made the whole Temple literally shriek. People on the ground covered themselves, some cried in agony inflicted by the high-pitched sound. The whole structure was much like Aiekara Crystal, and reacted the very same way as which Gueira misused to check-mate the regent. The line of the summoners standing to oppose the phantom nearly fell. It was their half-neeva heritage that now worked against them, as such amount of magical energy could just knock them out. The only one seemingly unaffected was master Yotsu himself, probably because of being a ionta. Out of the air, he grabbed a staff in his hands, pointing it towards the being. "This is a direct attack against the Temple! Whoever you are, stand down! Now!" "Try and make me to." It had a strange, strong echoing voice. Yotsu didn´t wait. He lashed with the staff to throw a spell against it. "Rix!" The staff harmlessly flew out from his hands, forcefully thrown away. At that moment the other summoners finally got up to summon their iontae. "Return where you came from!!" a powerful wave cut through the air, forcing all the iontae out from the material world. Everything the summoners had... including Pegasi. |

Denise would hold her ears, trying not to pass out being a full blooded navi did work in her disadvantage thistime. She then felt her iontante dissapear not a calming way when she let them leave. No more a rip like they were kicked. She would blink and feel the rush of air before her first instinct kicked in and she screamed. Edited by Denise, 2 Mar 2012, 10:11 PM.

"Damn..." Teranis cursed for himself silently. This was the last thing he needed, to be left falling down from such height. It took a while, but eventually something turned around Denise´s leg and stopped her fall just before she could hit the ground. It definetly wasn´t a hand or anything of that kind, rather a rope, or several of them. Teranis´ "extensions" of his hand, the whips he used in the illusion combat before. He was staying on the sky, with the ether-summoned flaming wings of his. Meanwhile, a magic-fougt battle broke out in the Temple. The summoners may be disarmed of their iontae, but many of them still knew more than just one single branch of magic. The air was literally filled with spells. The being, however, effectively shielded itself from them, reflecting them to its surroundings or even back to the attackers. For anybody of neeva blood, it was chaotic how it changed between the energy it was using, back and forth between all the known forms of ether. And of course, a major potencial enemy as Teranis didn´t escape its sight. One of the spell projectile thrown against it, hard to say of which kind, was deflected directly to the mage while he was busy preventing Denise of falling to her death. His dragon-like form fell down the sky in a huge arch, down somewhere to the sea surrounding the Temple. |

Denise closed her eyes and felt her hear skip a bit or two before she suddenly felt something pull her leg and a rush of blood to her head. When she opened her eyes she had to adjust to the scene infront of her. The first thing that reached her was the amazing array of colours that were being flung around to a shield that matched the colour of the things that were flung to it. She then got dropped to the ground the last bit like her invisible hand dissapeared. She shook her head and stood up trying to find teranis before the chaos of the battle infront of her took up her vision and her focus. Quickly banishing her worries about teranis out of her mind. She would look to the being and then to the line of summoners instead of what they did and send somekind of other branch of magic at it. She would send a multicoloured stream of channeling to see if she could influence the shield. and maybe make it protect against the wrong colour at the right time Edited by Denise, 3 Mar 2012, 06:14 PM.

People defending the Temple eventually realised that if they kept the being busy, the might even try to summon their iontae... and so some of them eventually also did. But the change of strategy of the defenders wasn´t the only thing going on. Denise could realise the "shield" the being was keeping was weakening... but not only that. It stopped fighting with spells against spells, it started to reverse the process. The magic hurled against it was slowly ceasing to be thrown aside. Instead, the energy was... consumed. More and more, until everything used against it only ended up absorbed. The figure floated in the air with its hands opened wide, its eyes glowing in intense orange, currents of ether englufing its body. "This has no use!" one of the summoners yelled. "What is that... thing doing?" It eventually ended up with everybody stopping their offensive, staring at the creature. The way it was going, nobody ever saw a living being capable of handling as much of energy it was holding in itself. It stared back down on them, with a possible third eye on its forehead glowing under all the clothes it was wrapped in. "We have been watching you all and we have seen. There is no place in the world for ones like you." At that moment everybody raised their hands back in defence. Numerous iontae were summoned. People hid behind whatever they could. But it was too late. Those who kept their eyes open could see the creature creating a sphere of shining energy around itself. Then, only a strong flash of intensive, burning light that flooded everything around them, without a single noise or cry being heard... ((this was quite much an overkill. The nature /and even origin/ of the being will be later explained. It has a rather important position in the whole plot (...see the forum header). Anyways: some number of the people present in the Temple still had a chance of surviving the attack, especially those who were younger. I believe Denise falls into that cathegory. Follow the next events here)) |
