It was already pitch dark when Firrah finally arrived on the top of the stairs leading above the city, to a plateau on which the temple to Yegash was supposed to stand. The imperial capital now lied hundreds of metres under him, under a tall wall that was cut straight into the mountain.

A terribly strong wind hit him. And a freezing rain. The city was at least a little shielded away from it by the mountain mass, but here the elements raged in their full strenght... yet the dark mage set their meeting place to here.

No wonder, undead beings couldn´t feel cold.

It was clear that he really reached the top because he saw the silhouette of pedestral of the huge statue of king Tirigrel infront of him. This was the highest accessible point above the city. And the ruined temple should be standing just behind it.

As he approached, he could see three figures standing in the dark in a tight circle. They were discussing something, all dressed in long cloacks, seeming to be unaware of his approaching... but they were.

"Oh, our little cheeky warrior. Welcome to the meeting which will decide about your fate!"
The mage Firrah knew from the tavern turned to him as he got closer, raising a hand towards him.

A few seconds later an animal jumped towards Firrah. A black lion.

Pulling his cloak tighter to make him a little warmer, Firrah looked upon the city scape these sorts of situations of looking upon a mass that seemed somewhat impressive called upon a cigar, he patted his secret pockets absently for a cigar.

"Damn, I gave it to Ryal!" He said angrily, he wandered around for a little longer, seeing the statue, he moved into inspect it, he scratched at the stone monument and shook his head. Kings, just a title, they wouldn't survive a day on their own.

He noticed three figures huddled around discussing something he couldn't hear, he ignores this but when they "greet" him he smiles and says.

"It's called a sense of humour mate, so. . . discussing what person you're gonna devour or take their skin to fix your face? Really you should fix that, it's all I can look." With that he laughs "I know my fate already, becoming immortal . . . Oh and having a younger body would be nice."

But when the black lion appeared out of no where without a warning, Firrah clicks his heels and the small blades from the secret compartments from the back and front of the boots slide out. In one fluent movement he draws both axes grinning insanely, while snarling.

"Here kitty, kitty, kitty."

"And this is called a little test... ´mate´," the dark mage replied with a visible distaste on the way Firrah was calling him. "Hope you... enjoy." The other two mages turned to Firrah too, but he could barely catch a single glimpse of their appearence.

The beast didn´t wait, it jumped straight on its opponent, aiming for his neck by its maws.

Firrah roared a challenge to the Black Lion, his eyes exploding into a blazing inferno. With the bladed boots Firrah went with a stabbing kick, while swinging down with his both axes.

Killing a black lion was no easy feat he had killed three in his life and they hadn't been easy, this was going to be tough. As he swung the axes down he prepared himself to be tackled, sometimes letting the enemy gain the advantage can suddenly become the attacked person's advantage.

Plans were flowing through his mind, all becoming blurred together which could lead to so many possibilities.

The dark made raised his eyebrow when he saw the way Firrah is acting. Anyone who would let the lion close to his neck was a madman, allowing the beast to perform its killing blow meant nothing else than certain death.

This one, apparently, in his opinion had more luck than brains.

The kick by the bladed boots made the lion miss. It only pushed Firrhah over on his back as it pushed off his shoulders in its jump. It landed behind Firrah, licking a wound on its side.

Firrah spun around and roared a challenge, he quickly undid his cloak he took it off and stretched it out and took a few angry breaths, drawing a dagger he then threw the cloak hoping for it to land on black lions head, as soon as he threw it Firrah charged after it. Shouting and roaring angrily.

The lion, seeing Firrah charging against it, leaped against its prey. Yet it was hit by the throwen cloak in the middle of its jump...

"Bravo..." the dark mage clapped.

The lion disappeared, leaving Firrah´s cloak fall freely on the ground, just like letting the warrior charge against nothing than air.

"Bravo, bravo, bravo," he clapped slowly, expressing his congratulations to Firrah in a sarcastic tone. "You just defeated an illusion your mind created under my guidance..."

This time, the two other mages were clearly visible, too. The laughed silently, both dressed in long dark cloaks. One seemed to be a younger man with longer face and pointy features, the other one was a girl, seemingly a twin of the first one.

"I wonder, is the barbarian capable of controlling his own rage or will he turn against me now?" the mage continued, opening his arms, like asking Firrah to attack him.

As the lion disappeared, Firrah skidded to a halt, looking around quickly making sure they hadn't moved it so it couldn't pop out of no where and attack him. But when he the dark mages "cheering" him, he just clicked his heels again and the blades sheathed themself back into his boots.

"Thank you, thank you." Firrah said aloud and bowed.

Taking his cloak off the ground, he dusts it off and wraps it around himself.

"I was starting to get worried . . ." Firrah began look at the dark mages "About my cloak getting damaged."

Picking up his twin axes and placing them back in his belts, he approaches the dark mages slowly.

"I haven't been a barbarian for a long long time. I've wasted my life being a gladiator. I can control my rages." Firrah said, then he heard of the part of the illusion. "Why don't conjure up a image of my father."

"Hmmm... I guess we already had the priviledge to learn about your rages," remarked the dark mage. "Either way, also found out that you might be someone we could have use for. Don´t you think, Allegia?"

"Unless someone uses magic against him, yes." The dark sorceress walked around Firrah, looking on him like he would be some sort of prey for her. "But the work we could need him for doesn´t require defence against magic. Luckily."

"That´s true. Depends if he will accept, tho," remarked the third mage by half-voice.

"He will have to," said the half-skeletal one decisively. "I won´t conjure another illusion Firrah Duerurt, there´s no need to. I already know why did you come here and I think the Order could give you just what you seek - if you will do some work for us. What do you think about that offer, barbarian?" he set his wand firmly on the ground, awaiting answer.

Smiling smugly for a moment when they spoke of his rages, it was something he was quite proud of, enduring the barbaric life, it had saved his life several times.

“Impressed by my anger? You haven’t seen anything yet, blackie.”

When Allegia told him about magic use and how Firrah had no defence against it, yes that’s true.

“In past experiences mages aren’t all that good in close combat. But I have other skills and I am rather resourceful.”

Looking at the other mage, he frowned with a hateful expression then he growls:

“I’ll accept, but I have a few conditions, First I want some cigars, I gave my last one to that fool of a black smith! Second, If I become immortal I don’t wanna look like a half chewed up zombie. Oh and my third condition, don’t read my mind again ’cos if you do the last thing you’ll see in your mind will be my axe.”

Firrah wipes the feral and angry expression and smiles.

“You’ll find that I’m easy to work with, just don’t get in my way.”
