"That boy is worrying me", the regent said shortly and sat wearily on the old chair behind his worktable. It had been a long day. He had trouble to remember the last time when his mind was not filled by problems and worries crying for immediate attention, both diplomatic and personal. Maybe that he was getting too old to handle it all...

"Do you mean Arvith?" asked a shadow mage, reading in one of the book from Lionir´s personal library.

No reply.

"The argument between you two?" Garix continued.

"Oh, sorry, I was a bit lost in thoughts," the regent replied hastily. "...yes."

"Was it really so bad?"
he skipped many pages, unable to find what he wanted. "I thought you two were friends?"

"Yes, we were... but we have been getting distant to eachother for a longer time. I think this was just an unevitable outcome of all of this..." the regent sighed.

"Well... why all the worries, then? I´m sure he will come back, sooner or later," he returned to his book. "Everything is going to be just fine, just look on the city. The enthusiasm people put in repairing it, I´ve heard that even the street saphynes are helping!"

"I know... it´s all great, but... I´m worried. For Arvith, the struggle against the Empire is very personal. I´m afraid that he might do something unpredictable... and I don´t really like the things he said before we got into that argument."

"Things?" the shadow mage asked curiously.

"Yes. Hearing voices. Seeing the storm above Tiak when he was somewhere else. Seeing Wakenight´s base destroyed before it really was. Getting back here without knowing what happened with Malik... there is something very strange going on, Garix. There might be several explanations for all those, but I don´t really like any of them..."

"I see." the shadow mage thought. "But, I don´t understand why did you let him go, then. It might be very dangerous to let him roam the world like that... for both him and his surroundings. And, what more, the imperials could be going after him, too."

"I wouldn´t be really afraid for his own safety, at least not in the basic way. He can defend himself. But... you don´t know him very well, Garix, if he wants to go, there is nothing that can stop him. He proved it several times, even during the siege."

"Not even the strongest mage in the world can stop him from escaping? I don´t believe that."

"Garix, that boy has an unbelievable magic potencial. If I tried to oppose him just after the quarrel, it wouldn´t do any good."

"...wait, what are you talking about? It doesn´t matter if he wanted or not, you could just use some force to keep him in place? It would be just for his own safety."

"Oh... alrgiht. Let me explain. You do know that the power of spells cast by a mage can be influenced by psychic state of the caster, right?"

"Sure... it can be multiplied or weakened. One of the basic things on the Academy that are taught."

"Well... I am quite sure that if Arvith truly wanted, he could overwhelm me in a fight easily," the regent said shortly.

"What??"

"And I mean it for real, Garix," he continued calmly. "Believe me. He already got into a true rage when he was small. His magic went out of his own control. At that time, I could still stop him, but nowadays... I can only guess what would happen."

"So you let him go... but what if he gets into trouble, just as you said? And, since he already lost most of his friends..."

"I know. Solitude can be a very bad thing. I was thinking about that already, maybe it would be good to send someone to accompany him. But who?"

"I would try asking someone from Hvevot Erdri, perhaps. If he is truly so dangerous as you say-"

"He is not dangerous, Garix. Everyone is dangerous, in a way. And no, their agents are too busy. I spoke to R- ...Spectre a while back and he said they have no men to spare right now."

"Then anyone, even it would be someone new?"

"I guess there is no other choice. I will try to find someone," the regent decided. "I will ask Spectre once more, or tell him to try to find someone himself... I know that he can tell a lot about people after being with them only for a moment," he stretched on the chair. "So, let´s go!" he quicly raised from the sit. Without any difficulties. Such sudden burst of energy shocked him.

"...a good sign, after all?"
Remarked the shadow mage with a smile and returned to his book.

"Yes, I guess so..." the regent said and walked out of the room.
