"Wow-wee!" Dal gasped with awe and delight as she covered her gaping mouth with her paws. "Shoo, she's a beaut!" Like a giddy little child, Dal giggled and hop-skipped around the deactivated SWAT-bots that littered the clearing, weaving her way through them until she arrived at the centerpiece, the giant tank that now stood like a forgotten statue that was sinking in marshland. "Boy, oh, boy!" Dal cried again, apparently at a loss for words as she set her paws on her hips and looked the tank up and down. It was easily twice, maybe three times her size, and the barrel of the gun was quite longer than she was tall. "This puppy must've been a beast!" Clambering onto the wide rigid treds that made up the tank's tires, Dal began the tricky ascent toward the tank's hatch located on the tippy-top of the monstrous machine. "Amazing that this forest could deactivate this sucker. Good thing, too, or the Freedom Fighters might've been given one run for their money!" Dal was surprisingly agile; by the time she'd finished the sentence, she was already halfway up the tank and making good progress. "You've never seen one of these before either, eh? Must've been some prototype model that Robotnik wanted to test out, send it here to take out the Freedom Fighters in the forest, see what it could do... Obviously didn't work out as planned, though." Dal finally reached the hatch and produced from her green bag her trusty screwdriver. In a matter of moments Dal had unscrewed the latches and the round hatch fell off and tumbled to the ground. "Whoops." Dal didn't seem too disappointed, and she promptly hopped inside the tank. |

Dave walked around the tank as he kept a close eye on Dal, making sure she was ok. As he was walking, he noticed a de-activated SWAT-Bot that's legs were totally torn off. He bent down to look at it, and noticed something. It wasnt torn off, more like BITTEN, off. Dave leaped back, in fear the creature that did this was still around. He walked back a little and bumped into a tree, startled by this, he quickly spun around and punched the tree. His fist flew so hard, that it made a dent in the tree! Sadly his fist reflected off, and he ended up hitting himself in his stomach. In pain, Dave sat down on the ground, holding his stomach. "Um.. Dal. I'd like to point out that the wild life here, aren't exactly, friendly..." he said, still holding his stomach. "We should try and leave as soon as we can..." |

Dal, however, could not hear him within the sound-proof hull of the tank. Dal gasped in awe, her eyes wide as ostrich eggs as she gazed around the inside of the tank with glee. "Shoo-wee..." The tank was dark, but with the moonlight flooding in from the top hatch, Dal could see all sorts of computer panels and high-tech stations covered in dials and knobs. There was a periscope-like instrument toward the front of the tank that seemed to serve as a computerized viewing system so the driver knew which way the tank was headed. Off either side was a small room that seemed to serve as a pod-like seat for a gunner. Dal headed straight for the periscope first, twirling her screwdriver in her paw as she began pulling out screws from the periscope's operating panel, flicking them over her shoulder as quickly as you could spit out a slew of watermelon seeds. |

Dave jumped on top of the tank, still in slight pain, "Dal', you almost done in there?" he asked, sort of quietly. |

"You kiddin' me? This place is a goldmine! A mechanic's paradise!" Dal waddled across the tank cabin, a huge stack of parts piled in her arms. She waved from side to side, the high stack of metal swaying unbalanced this way and that. "I could spend a hundred years in here!" |

Dave muttered quietly to himself, "Trust me, you wouldn't wanna'," suddenly, in the trees, he heard a noise, a growling noise. He listened closely, but it stopped after a few seconds, he thought it might just be the wind, but he wasn't sure. |

Dal, still inside the sound-proof tank, was singing and chortling away, oblivious to the ominous noises outside. Her arms grew heavy with metallic parts, and she soon had to sit and begin to set her parts down, one at a time, sorting them into neat little piles. She was taking inventory of all her finds so far. "Let's see... a bundle of electrical wiring... two nifty colored buttons... three and a half semi-damaged computer panels... a lens... piping..." Dal lifted an elbow-bend pipe to her eye and glanced through it, grinning. "Hm..." |

A few bushes seemed to rustle behind Dave, he knew this time it wasn't the wind. He spun around quickly, ready for an attack. Though a slight disappointment to him, there was nothing there... He knew not many creatures could stand the draining of energy that this forest brought... and he suddenly knew what they were going to be up against. He heard something again behind him, figuring the creature was circling Dave, trying to find a good time to strike. He apparently was getting irritated with Dave figuring where he was, because each time Dave would turn, he'd hear another growl... Edited by Arrow the Hedgehog, Nov 27 2009, 07:41 AM.

Completely oblivious to the danger surrounding them just outside, Dal continued examining her parts carefully. After discovering that one of the computer panels she'd scavenged was damaged beyond repair, Dal pitched the damaged part outside the tank and continued rummaging, opening panels and pocketing screws, humming to herself as she went about her work, practically dismantling the tank from the inside out. "Hey," she called up to Dave, "do you happen to know how many other tanks like this there are around here? I bet some of them have got to have some really nice rare parts..." |

"Um..." he replied, forgetting the monster, "I think the other Freedom Fighter's salvaged them already, I can't say for sure, however." |
