Sonic was right in assuming the other wasn't far behind him. On seeing him begin to jump across the boats, Sonic hesitated for only a moment to ensure that the water was a safe enough distance below the floating platforms, and then took off after him. He kept up fairly well despite that hesitation, matching the other's steps easily. Before he was able to make any headway in catching up with him, however, he witnessed his next action just ahead, and almost lost his footing at the edge of the boat where he had last leaped. "Wuh...!" The blue hedgehog lurched back, windmilling his arms for balance, flustered and gawking at what had taken place. He realized then that the man accompanying the victimized woman was angrily shouting at him. Despite the fact, his eyes were on the other Sonic, brows lowering in annoyance. Maybe he thought it was fun and games, but this was where Sonic drew the line. Ignoring the couple, he regained his prior steady footing and rushed after the actual culprit. Sonic didn't put much effort into slowing as he reached the same boathouse, only swerving around its cabin in a sharp arc, looking to catch sight of his twin in the same instant. No more dawdling; once he saw him, he would instantly meet him as he appeared to have no other route of escape, lunging with the intent to pin him against the wall and recover the woman's top. A stern reprimand would also be in order, although he understood by now that this Sonic had no regard for any of the same rules or manners that he did, and there would be little to no chance of correction. Dealing with him wasn't looking quite so entertaining any longer. |

Safe enough distance? Didn't he know that if he fell, he was still falling in the water, no matter how far away it was. It would only be more painful if it was farther away. It seemed like that phobia made him think irrationally, but that was kinda the point of a phobia. Sonic, however, had yet to notice his twin's fear of the water. And if he himself shared that phobia, he hid it well. He was laughing heavily by the time the other made his way around, fumbling over getting the window open in his amusement. The hedgehog looked up from his actions, emerald eyes twinkling with mischief as he bit his lip to contain the laughter. "Oh hey, I thought you'd stick back there a bit more and enjoy the vi--oomph!" As he was pinned, a flicker of nervousness graced his features before twisting into something dark. "Told you it would be a good show." He surrendered the top without a fuss, letting his lips curl back to display a full set of teeth, a small, fresh chip in one of the front incisors. "Don't look so anal about it." |

Fastest Thing Alive

Sonic had been expecting more of a fight after the race to catch up with him, and his confusion at the lack of one was noticeable. He loosened the grip he had taken on his upper arms in favor of accepting the stolen top, frown returning as he took a step back, remaining on his guard. "I wouldn't say that," he returned, unlike the other, not at all amused. "I've got better things to do than recover stolen clothes, so if you're sticking around, I hope you're not gonna make this a habit." Disgusted, Sonic took a few strides away from the cabin to begin his venture across the boats and to the dock again, but paused to look back. "Sure you can match me for speed, but it looks like that's all we've got in common. I don't wanna clean up your mess." If he kept up these antics, however, Sonic realized it would be inevitable. He was well-known enough that everyone would assume the other was himself. "How 'bout you go back where you came from? Wherever that is..." That said, Sonic would rush back over the boats, stopping only to offer the top out to the furious couple with an apologetic grin. As predicted, they thought he was the thief, but before he could receive a word of the ensuing tirade, Sonic resumed his dash back to the dock, and once there, would only keep running. |
