No Lyrics for this one. Just to many modern day references in this one. But if any one is interested in seeing the original words.... Mott the Hoople and the game of Life. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Andy Kaufman in the wrestling match. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Monopoly, Twenty one, checkers, and chess. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mister Fred Blassie in a breakfast mess. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's play Twister, let's play Risk. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. See you heaven if you make the list. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Andy did you hear about this one? Tell me, are you locked in the punch? Hey Andy are you goofing on Elvis? Hey, baby. Are we losing touch? If you believed they put a man on the moon, man on the moon. If you believe there's nothing up my sleeve, then nothing is cool. Moses went walking with the staff of wood. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Newton got beaned by the apple good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Egypt was troubled by the horrible asp. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mister Charles Darwin had the gall to ask. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey Andy did you hear about this one? Tell me, are you locked in the punch? Hey, Andy are you goofing on Elvis? Hey, baby. Are you having fun? If you believed they put a man on the moon, man on the moon. If you believe there's nothing up my sleeve, then nothing is cool. Here's a little agit for the never-believer. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's a little ghost for the offering. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's a truck stop instead of Saint Peter's. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mister Andy Kaufman's gone wrestling [wrestling bears]. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey Andy did you hear about this one? Tell me, are you locked in the punch? Hey Andy are you goofing on Elvis, hey baby, are we losing touch? If you believed they put a man on the moon, man on the moon. If you believe there's nothing up my sleeve, then nothing is cool. |

OK, When I DL'ed the lyrics for this song, the site I got it from had a pop-up that asked "what do you think the lyrics to Man on the Moon mean?" I did not answer the pop-up, but I was thinking about the question. I do have my opinions about that song, and if any of you have seen the movie with Jim Carrey, to me the song is pretty self evident. But again I won't start a debate about this in this forum. But, while I was at work, performing my mindless duties...(lol) I started thinking about this song, and Lord of the Rings. I started to think about what the general population in the Shire, and the rest of Middle-Earth thought about what is fact in the lore of the story, and what they considered myth or fable, and I decided to take a crack at changing some things around. I do like what I came up with here, and I hope you all and the rest of our listener do also. Guiding the Moon... Woodland Elves and King Thranduil. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Bilbo Baggins with his bag of jewels. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Going for hay rides, or fishing in streams. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Elrond Half-Elven in his hidden realm. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's play Freeze Tag, Let's play Golf Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. See you at the Havens if you need to sail. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Bilbo did you hear about this one? Tell me, are you missing your lunch? Hey Bilbo are you battling Spiders? Tom Noddy! Are we losing touch? If you believed, a Maia's guiding the moon, guiding the moon. If you believe there's nothing up my sleeve, then nothing is cool. Gandalf went walking with the staff of wood. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Ferny got beaned by the apple good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mirkwood was troubled by the Necromancer. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Bilbo's quest just might end in disaster. Here's a little agit for the never-believer. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's a little ghost for the offering. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's an Ale House instead of Elven-Home. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Mister Bilbo Baggin's gone Adventuring [Burglaring] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. If you believed, a Maia's guiding the moon, guiding the moon. If you believe there's nothing up my sleeve, then nothing is cool. If you believed, a Maia's guiding the moon, guiding the moon. If you believe there's nothing up my sleeve, then nothing is cool. If you believed, a Maia's guiding the moon, guiding the moon. If you believe there's nothing up my sleeve, then nothing is cool. edited for spelling....Think I got them all... Edited by Durinsbane, Jul 21 2012, 03:11 PM.

Thanks again, and this can move. btw, I looked at the spelling of Mia (Maia) when I posted this, and thought it looked wrong so I googled it and that is how it was spelled on that site. Never trust Google...lol Thanks for the corrections! |
