I have started this post for a place to put suggestions for the event on Sunday.
The theme will be romance/love and it has been requested the music be classical. (The attempt here is to make it as elvish sounding as possible)
As I am not good with most classical music names of songs, I am asking for any help I can get. Please post your suggestions here and keep in mind I have only today to finish this list. I appreciate any and all help :)

It's not classical in the Beethoven/Mozart sense, but I think a classic love song is Moon River. Just sayin'

Legend of Legaia

This has a nice sound to it for setting the mood. I haven't found been given the file Berenras wanted me to listen to. Then there is also this Lay of Beren and Luthien

If I can see any others that might be good to give a go I'll post again.

Adding another player to the list:

Lenwen - Plays all instruments

Okay. Here is what I will need for today. This is info I will need for the post. Time, location, how long it will last, name of event if any. I will post the list of volunteers along with the song post as is standard with EMS concerts. I do need to know what instruments the volunteers can play. It is of upmost importance I know this tonight as it will determine which songs we can actually play. I will be going over songs tonight so if you need me, pm me here on site and I will log on.

Players from SoNs:

Tessariel - Plays all instruments
Alidil - Clarinet, Drums, Lute, Harp, Horn, Theorbo
Berenras - Almost all instruments
Aadyn - Plays all instruments
Daylak - Plays all but cowbell
Lenwen - Plays all instruments

Players from EMS:

Fincin - Plays all instruments
Orladan - Plays all instruments
Randolfr - I assume plays all instruments.

I'll edit what Berenras can play once I get a chance to talk to him. He hasn't been on all day.

We're looking at 30 minutes of Elvish like music. Just something to set the mood while Benjimir recites the Lay of Beren and Luthien.

Okay, here is what I have found so far Tess. Ive kept all songs to 7 parts or less so far just in case things don't go as planned.
Take a listen and let me know which ones you want to use and I will work on filling in the rest :)

The Lay of Beren and Luthien is a must.
Suteki Da Ne though I am tempted to say rather than lute go to harp and make the clarinets horns but I don't want to get smacked by Randolfr.
Andante
Hallelujah
Sonata No.2 in Eb majorAllegro moderato
The Fall of Gil-Galad

That should cover the 30 minutes no?

Ah Fincin, I was going to suggest Suteki Da Ne by Nobuo Uematsu as well (I started looking in the 6 part section), and had just come across Hallelujah :D

One other I thought of, which is 8 parts, is Venus from the Planets Suite by Gustav Holst

Yep. That will make for about 1/2 an hour. Let me know if that is what you want to run with and I will make a post for it by afternoon Sunday. That will give everyone enough time to download songs and such.

Nice suggestion there :) I like it though I wonder if it would be a wise choice considering it's a long piece. I would say that is a nice alternate should there be some dead space for some reason. Do you think that is a good idea Finny?

Other than that run with the choices I selected. Berenras hasn't been on so I'm making an executive decision. Benjimir doesn't care as long as it suits the mood.

Well, honestly speaking, asking an EMS band member to play for half an hour is like asking a chocoholic to only eat one M&M candy. However.... I digress. I will add it to the list and a few optional/alternate/extra songs to the list and then you can just say stop or we run out, whichever comes first :)
Ill have the list up by afternoon Sunday Lord willin an the creek don' rise :P

LOL! You do realize today is national chocolate day or something right? I'll make sure the people dl the songs once you got the list posted :) If not they'll get beatings from me.

I could not agree more. I remember when I first started listening to classical. That was one of the first romantic songs I knew of.
Thank you for the suggestion :)

I'm making a call on the location. It's going to be in Celondim up near the top where it goes to Falathlorn. It's a nice little nook where there is a center platform. I believe it used to be the spawn point for Elves after the intro.

Thank you for inviting us. I enjoyed it very much. I would also like to offer up kudos to the Sons band volunteers. You guys should be very proud of yourselves. You ran very smoothly and for many of you this was your first concert experience. Outstanding performance from you all! If any of you have a great love for music and performing then you might want to speak with Keptwise about joining EMS or Falibrand about joining GHMS. Both are great groups and have really talented and nice people in them. Thank you again for such a great show! :)
