A relic has three attributes: Name, Cost and Effect And optionally, a fourth, flavour text. These are all the same as when described in Creatures. Relics are activated from the hand, like spells. They may only be activated on your turn and are then placed one the field and remain there. Relics usually have an effect which will alter play in general, for example: |Fireswarmer : Boiler Room| |Relic| |Cost 4| |When a Cost 1 Fire creature is Summoned, reduce the Defensive Power of all opponent's creatures by 1. You may Exile a Fire creature to reduce a creature's Defensive Power by half of the Exiled creature's Offensive Power (rounded down).| Other Relics may target a specific Creature, energy, or other Relic, for example; |Glacier-Guard : Northern Trinket| |Relic| |Cost 1| |Target a "Glacier-Guard" creature, damage to that creature's Defensive Power is halved (rounded down). That monster does not have it's Defensive Power reduced except by battle.| A player may control 3 Relics at a time. Edited by Griffin, Aug 4 2009, 03:27 PM.
