I've got a pleasant surprise for you at the January 29th meeting in Snohomish.

You've been waiting to hear Debbie Copple, SkyValley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Information Center Director. Debbie is the lady who has been working faithfully to resolve the Index Sportsmen Club issue with the USDA Forest Service. She is scheduled to speak that night and bring us up to date on the effort to get the Skeet range back under club management. You're going to like Debbie and she's looking forward to being there.

In short, the club was organized in 1947 by veterans returning from World War 2. The club operated under a rental agreement doing upkeep and maintenance as their rental cost until the middle 1980s. The forest service neglected to issue a renewal of their permit but allowed the club to continue use of the grounds until 2004. At that time, the USDA Forest Service evicted the club. Mrs. Copple has been working to regain use of the range.

Be sure to come out to the meeting. It's going to be interesting.

Dave
