Ok, here's where things really get interesting, BATTLES! Since not everyone here is going to have Super Smash Brothers Brawl, battles will be fought here. For the time being, the battles will be text based. (An updated battle system is in the works.) Just because a battle is text based doesn't mean that it's going to be boring. There are several things that are important to battles on Smash Legends. *note* Transformations/Pokemon Switches are not allowed at this time. 1.) Response time. If you are in a battle it is important to post in a timely manner. Since the time of all posts are recorded, this feature is used to help gauge the damage dealt by an opposing attack. For example, posts that respond within the same hour of the attack receive the minimum attack damage that can be dealt by the attack. Posts after the first hour that respond within 24 hours of the attack receive the minimum damage multiplied by .X rounded up to the nearest whole number, up to the maximum damage of the attack. (X= the number of hours after the attack is made/100. ex) .2 .3 .4 .5 .6 .7 .8 .9 .01 .011 .012 .013 etc...)) Any posts after 24 hours receive the maximum amount of damage allowable by an attack. 2.) Hit Points, Ability Points, Special Attacks, and Damage Range All of these stats will be assigned to your character when you register. 2a.) Hit Points (HP): Your character has a certain number of hit points. When this number reaches Zero, your character loses the battle and is automatically transported to the hospital wing. 2b.) Ability Points (AP) Your character will also be assigned a certain number of ability points. You use these to perform attacks. Each special attack has a fixed cost of ability points. When you run out of ability points, You can no longer use special attacks and are forced to use simple melee attacks. 2c.) Special Attacks, Damage Range: Your character also has several special moves. These moves are how you defeat your opponent. Each move has a damage range. The damage range is two numbers that serve as restraints for the amount of damage your attack can do. For example, if your move has an attack range of 1-4, your attack can only do damage of 1,2,3 or 4. 3.) Melee Attacks These attacks are unique. They can be used infinitely in a battle. They are only obtained through the use of stickers. Like wise, they start out weak and can be powered up through the use of stickers. These attacks can be used in place of a special attack and are generally weaker in comparison, though they cannot be "dodged". 4.) Dodging attacks? Dodging attacks is not possible, but you can reduce the damage you take to 1/2 of the minimum damage of the attack. Only Posts made within the first 4 hours of an attack have a chance to be Reduced. This is determined by post time and the agility stat. The agility stat is a special statistic that can only be obtained from a sticker. Unlike melee attack stickers, this sticker can not be strengthened and can only be replaced. Your agility stat adds a certain percentage to your chance to "dodge". Attacks are "dodged" if your chance is 60% or higher So, Player 1 attacks Player 2. Player 2 has the agility stat of 25% and responds within 1 hour of the attack. So he has a 65% chance to "dodge" (40% from being in the first hour and 25% added from the agility stat) therefore the "dodge" is successful and the damage is reduced to 1/2 of the minimum damage of Player 1's attack. Player 2 can now attack. |
