This was one of the starships in the Wolf 359 "graveyard". Obviously of the Galaxy class lineage, the design was either a precursor to the Galaxy class, or a ship reassembled from salvaged Galaxy class components. Either way, it's a unique-looking design. Project notes: New pieces include the horizontally oriented 1-level warp core, a 5x1 bar for crew lounges (requires placement of invisible counters to enable the "empty" slots), and new bridge and engineering consoles (Essentially the same consoles, just replaced the textures with Freedom class graphics) Specs: EPs Required: Everything up to  Lot Size: 5x6 Price: 386,000 Crew: 28 with current configuration                Credits: Holodeck Red wall and floor are recolored from an original texture by StephSim, see below for link The Thrallian Snapper and Nebulae Smock Lilly are original creations of K8 at Parsimonious, used in agreement with her TOU. Very interesting design! I'm going to have to rewatch The Best of Both Worlds now.  This will make a great addition to the fleet!

Its sort of like a warp-powered popsicle, isn't it? I remember seeing this during the battle with the Borg at Wolf 359. I am not 100% certain but wasn't it also in Generations rescuing the 1701-D's crew? Nicely done, J! Edited by willisj, Feb 19 2010, 03:25 PM.

Honestly, I do not like this class of ship, because of the one nacelle. However, I am forced to download it anyway, because of all the awesome content that you created for it.

@NixNivis: I think it only has a brief cameo, along with the New Orleans, Cheyenne, Niagara Challenger, and a few other ship classes. It's hard to pick out each ship individually. @Will- Close but no cigar. The ships that rescued the Enterprise-D's crew were the Nebula-class (Sutherland-type, with the tactical pod) U.S.S. Farragut, the Oberth-class U.S.S. Valiant, and an unnamed Excelsior-class? vessel if memory serves me correctly. must re-watch Generations. But thanks for the positive feedback. @WarpCrab- Fear not, the sideways warp core will be used again in the Challenger and Cheyenne classes when I get around to building them. All the other CC (except the bridge and engineering consoles with the unique Freedom-class graphics) have been used in other projects and will be used again. |
