Lt. Junior Grade Posts: 60 Group: Members Member #480 Joined: Oct 13, 2009	Just been watching a few borg episodes of star trek and just wondering why do they always fire phasers at the borg get of two shots then look suprised when the borg adapt.

Federation President Posts: 1,170 Group: Members Member #35 Joined: Dec 26, 2008	Well I think it's to up the dramatic effect and to demonstrate that the Borg are a real threat. No matter how quick Star Fleet adapts the Borg always seemed to be faster.

Federation President Posts: 1,016 Group: Members Member #63 Joined: Jan 17, 2009	@ gimzod - I'm not really sure, I think that Starfleet will want to take it apart and see how it works before they start issuing them, and I don't know how long that would take, but the other federation weapons from Elite force 2 are there for sure.

Also note that while Starfleet was slow to develop technologies to respond to the Borg threat, by First Contact defense against the Borg had become a mature science. Reference Type IIIa and IIIb phaser rifles, as well as the Defiant, Akira, Steamrunner, and Norway ship classes.
