 Hi all!Okay. My idea is this... I want to create a Sims Banner (like the one above) using only Strangelove characters! They can be Officers, NPC's, Starfleet or Aliens, but they have to be listed on the Strangelove Crew List. Here are the rules: 1) pictures can be no larger than 800x600 or 600x800 2) pictures of Sims must be taken individually, on a plain background. That means no texture whatsoever. 3) pictures must be posted in this thread through a third party site, such as Photobucket. 4) pictures must be of the full Sim, in a pose of your choice. Make them interesting!  5) They have to be dressed either in our new Strangelove uniform, or something appropriate for their species. Please no modern clothes! 6) They have to be close up, not far away, and not blurry! 7) please turn off your shadows ingame, and do not include the plumbbob or headlines. (use the cheats if you need to) Hmmmm, I think that's it! The deadline is for November 5th! If you need me to, I will take a right, and a wrong picture, and post them so that you can see what I mean. Quick question, for the non crew characters that are still in Starfleet, should they also wear the Strabgelove uniform or should they be in the First Contact style one and/or whatnot? |

I have two questions one how do you get a descent picture of a full sim in close-up? Are there any hacks available because with the standard in-game camera I'm not able to. About the clothes I'd really like to use Badem Adon's black attire from the Teen Stuff pack and for Tara sh'Raazh the snake dress from HM stuff pack (the texture is somewhat alien plus it is something women in Star Trek would wear). |

@ Brett - sure, the non crew characters can wear the STrangelove outfits. Most uniform changes weren't exclusive to just one ship in the show. @ Motom - I never use the in game camera.  If you'll look on your keyboard, there should be a button near the top right side that says, "Print Screen" (if it's not on the right, it should be somewhere  ) Once you've got your Sim lined up and the ingame camera framing him just right, press that button. Then minimize your game, open up your paint program (I use the Gimp), and create a new picture from the clipboard. It should open up a nice, big picture. Then cut and resize to your hearts content, remembering to sharpen it just a smidge because it may be a bit blurry after resizing. Hope that helps!  That's fine with the clothes. They look sci fi enough!  @ Gimzod, a good pose box....hold on...let me find the link.....Let's see, I use this one alot, http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=272312 because it has face overlays that work with the poses to give your sims expressions. Make sure you follow the directions for getting them to stop posing, as if you leave the lot without doing that it can sometimes mess up your sims when you come back on. It's simple, just click 'Snap Reset' to end all poses per Sim! And I'll try to have the sample pics up shortly!  Edited by K'Ehleyr, Oct 28 2009, 07:28 PM.

Oh ok I'm aware of print screen but never use it though but I found a program named Fraps, it also empties the screen (no task balk and so) and it seems to does the trick although I have to resize my pictures considerably @Gimzod wall paper and floors, if you don't have them in game try to download some. Oh, and for anybody who don't know it already, hitting F10 makes the UI disappear (even though you'll still have the red pause frame, unless you use Numenor's (I think) mod); that way, you can get a closer screen shot of your Sim with print screen. K', is it all right if you don't get my screenies until early next week (but before the 5th, of course)? I need to get some serious Greek studies done this weekend, along with a ton of church stuff (and I'm not even doing it for a living yet!), so I'm not sure I'll even have time to fire up the game before Monday.  Oh, and do you want the Sims on a white/greyish background, or some other colour? Edited by NixNivis, Oct 29 2009, 03:30 AM.

Okay I have taken some pictures but I wonder if this is okay?  I had to cut of poor Tahlandi's feet otherwise the picture would be to big Saron finding her inner babe this picture was taken from further away and sadly the carpet didn't match the wall (for some reason I cannot get white walls to appear white) Selina Dorek`a also lost her feet, the same reason as for Tahlandi the picture was to bigA clearer look at what I mean with with walls are not turning up white in my game  Reittain Stadi is hiding the chocolate from counselor Prvi (it's boss teasing day). The problem of white walls turning up gray is even more so when you take pictures inside a house  but the carpet's color is closer to the wall then. Adon is not happy about it Lo Soraya proudly showing her curves  again the wall and the carpet are both white but the color difference is very noticeable Sorjei Thelin Striking a pose  and finally Darzen in his digging clothes  I'd like some feedback I'm still experimenting with it all and for the first time in my life I'm using a pose box, which is a great help. I've got more Sims waiting for a snapshot but before I do anything else I'd like your thoughts and K'Ehleyr don't worry Doctor Asar will make an appearance the death doctor I was talking about was Da Huang (I don't have his template anymore) and I've changed my mind about the cadets I'll make pictures of them too. Edit: K'Ehleyr thanks for the tip about the print screen but in Belgium the keyboard is AZERTY standard instead of the more international QWERTY standard, this means my keyboard's lay-out is very different http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AZERTY versus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QWERTY ) Edited by motom79, Oct 29 2009, 03:19 PM.

@ Gimzod - Actually, the white background is a created object done specifically for picture taking purposes. I'm trying to find the link for it, so that I can upload it here. It makes taking plain pictures awesomely easy! @ Nix - No! You must WORK WORK WORK!!!!  Seriously though, no problems! Get your studying done. Real life does come first..at least...that's what I've been told. And a white / greyish background would be ideal. Of course, if your Sim has white hair, a different color would be better, etc....@ Motom, I LOVE your pictures! It's ok to cut off their feet. Actually, cutting them off a little higher isn't so bad either. Here's a few more tips: * Make sure you've turned off your shadows in the game. Shadows create havoc with clear pictures! * Try to take pictures outside, against a wall backdrop, in the sunniest place. I usually create one wall, facing the sunny side of the lot. (there's always one side that's sunnier than the others, you just have to experiment by putting up a wall facing every direction to find it) Also, try to take your pictures during the beginning of summer, for those of you who have seasons. I use this to set the season and turn off the weather: http://simwardrobe.com/ (click the link / go to Sims2 / click Objects / Go to Other Objects / Click on seasons and Weather Controller / then download!)
