As these are examples most of these will not go into as deep of detail as people should when actually rping.

RP And OOC Argument Mixing Example.
Player 1 (Guy) and Player 2 (Girl) are an RP Couple.
Player 2 (Girl) and Player 3 (Guy) are a Couple in OOC and get into a fight and break up.
Player 3 attacks Player 1 in an act of jealousy stating that Player 2 is his girl and only he can be with her.
In this example Player 3 took the break up that had happened in OOC and brought it into RP.

God-Modding Example.
Player 1 (Guy) straps Player 2 (Guy) to a boulder.
Player 2 struggles against the chains, but can not get free.
Player 1 pushes the boulder off of a cliff.
Player 2 leaps away from the boulder before it can go off the cliff ignoring the fact that earlier that he could not get free.
In this Example Player 2 ignored the fact he was chained and could not get free and thus acted in a minor that is classified as God-Modding.

Auto-Hitting Example.
Player 1 (Girl) throws a rock at Player 2 (Girl) hitting her right in the forehead. Player 1 smiles as Player 2 falls over in pain.
Player 2 dodges the rock and laughs at how stupid Player 1 looks with the goofy smile on her face.
In this Example Player 1 forgot that Player 2 would have a chance to block or dodge the attack.

One-Liners Example.
Player 1 (Guy) walks up to Player 2 (Guy) and starts to punching him.
In this Example Player 1 did a move that was just too simple that it holds no creativity.

Two-Part Attacks Example.
Player 1 (Girl) rushes towards Player 2 (Guy) throwing two daggers from her right hand at his head while using her left hand to throw two daggers at his gut.
Player 2 seeing the daggers goes to duck and avoid them and gets hit in the head by the daggers she had thrown at his gut prior to him ducking.
In this Example Player 1 did a attack that came in 2 parts which can be a useful thing in some battles.

Dodge And Attack Example.
Player 1 (Guy) throws a series of daggers towards Player 2 (Girl) and pulls his sword from it's sheath.
Player 2 leaps into the air flipping over Player 1's head moving her hands as she whispers a spell. As she lands she turns and sends out a powerful fireball towards Player 1.
Player 1 watches her flip and turns as she goes over his head and slams into her back before she can turn.
In this example Player 2 dodged the attack and forgot that as she is flipping in the air Player 1 would had the chance to turn as well.
In this example Player 2 dodged the attack, but did a complex attack that allowed Player 1 a chance to counter it.

Abilities Example.
Player 1 (Guy) has trained to use Ice Magic and gets into a battle against Player 2 (Guy).
Player 2 is strong against Ice Magic and weak against Fire Magic.
Player 1 attacks Player 2 with Fire Magic ignoring the fact that he has never studied Fire Magic.
In this example Player 1 ignored the fact that he did not have any Fire Magic abilities.

Too Many Actions Example.
Player 1 (Girl) rushes towards Player 2 (Girl) throwing back her cloak to reveal numerous daggers attached to her belt. Leaping into the air she begins to throw the daggers at Player 2. Landing on the ground in front of Player 2. Player 1 pulls a dagger from her boot and slams it into Player 2's foot.
Player 2 "Is it My turn Yes?"
In this Example Player 1 did numerous action ignoring the fact that Player 2 would of had a turn between the actions.

Detailed Action Example.
Player 1 (Guy) pulls a crescent moon bladed sword with a golden hilt from his belt and throws off his Green Forest Cloak.
In this example everyone is able to see what type of a sword Player 1 had as well as the type of cloak that he threw off.

The following info is should READ SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY.

Types Of Fights

Alright, this is the stuff a lot of you have been waiting to read. RP fights turn pretty nasty, so pay attention to what you're doing when fighting against another player. People can get really picky about what happens to their characters, so if you're going to do a Player Vs Player fight, be ready to do a lot of compromising.

A blunt rule for Player Vs Player combat is to keep in mind that ALL Characters ARE CREATED EQUAL. Players may have different skills and talents, but they should all be roughly equal in power level. This means that in a fight, both players are going to come out with a similar amount of injury.

Sparring:
This is a nice polite kind of fighting. Sparring is when two players get together and agree to fight, but not to severely harm each other. Sparring is generally used to gain ability or judge the skill level of another player against your own skill level. During a spar you should tone down your attacks. Remember, you aren't trying to kill the other person. You can and should use attacks that would normally be considered death blows, however you should NEVER insist that an opponent cannot block them. Sparring generally does not contain the use of magical powers, as they are too dangerous.

Tournament Style:
Tournament Style fights is anything that basically pits one player against another with no possibility of outside interference. A Tournament Style battle is usually followed by the victor fighting another different player. It is ok to heal between rounds, as they usually take place weeks from each other and there are usually medics around to help with healing. Tournament Style fighting usually gets pretty violent, and both competitors usually come out more than half dead. Tournament Style fights are usually for the entertainment of the masses, so make them as flashy as possible. Big magical attacks are a plus. Don't be afraid to use spectators in your post. Go ahead and post about the spectators' reactions.

Bar-fighting:
Bar-fighting can be some of the most fun combat RP ever, but it must be done correctly. Usually, a bar-fight breaks out between two people who don't like each other, and just escalates from there to include everyone (and everything) in the room. The main rule here is "HURT STUFF." That's right, it doesn't really matter who or what you hurt, just hurt it. Break a chair, break a table, break a face. As long as it isn't directly your ally, (Girlfriend/best buddy/your own leg) break it. Do not hesitate to use your surroundings as weapons.

Adventure:
Adventure is where a group of players will get together and as the type states go on an adventure. These usually contain a lot of NPCs. The goal of an Adventure is to have fun and to work as a team for a certain goal. And as such remember that just cause you are in a group doesn't mean that you won't get hurt or that you can go all out with your abilities from the start and expect the others to take care of you towards the end.

Types Of NPC

I know your probably thinking what is there to tell about NPC.

Well, there are different types of NPC. Some NPC can be killed in droves, while others may be even more difficult to kill than another player. Keep in mind that there are really no true NPC. Every character in a RP is being controlled by somebody.

Weak NPC Hordes:
These are the kind of NPCs that it is ok to kill two or three at a time. These NPCs usually come in medium sized to large groups. It's ok to throw a group of fifty of these guys into battle against five or so players and expect the players to win without heavy casualties. The limit for one player to handle alone should be between five to eight. You should not just tear through these guys in large groups. At maximum you should kill three in a long post when you have a good position to kill them. Players should also TAKE DAMAGE from them. While it's true you probably wont take much damage from one or two, if eight guys are attacking you, it doesn't matter how much they suck, you're going to get hit somewhere.

Generic NPCs:
These NPCs usually come in the form of a group of bandits or mercenaries hired to kill the main protagonist players. These guys usually have a very little bit of plot development behind them. Perhaps only the leader has development, but the others should be more than just bodies to be hacked and slashed. These guys usually come with a description of some sort and are a bit tougher to beat than the Horde type NPCs. The ratio of these guys to players in an even fight should be about 1:1. The players will be expected to win with this ratio of course, so if you want to capture the players, try upping it to 2:1 or even 3:1. These guys will each probably do a little damage to the players.

Random NPCs:
These aren't normally the kind of guys that you'll want to be fighting. These include innkeepers, shopkeepers, random travelers on the road, villagers, and the like. If you really want to fight with these, something is wrong with you, or just your character. That's ok though, basically, these guys will either run or surprise you and kick your butt. It's pretty much a random kind of thing. Just think, that random traveler on the road could be a refugee with nothing more than the potato in his pocket, or he could be the legendary hero of some country. You never know for sure. If you insist on fighting these guys, basic rules apply. The creator of the random NPC will decide how powerful the NPC is, and will play it as such.

Mini Bosses:
These guys are tough cookies. They are basically players, with less history and plot development behind them. These guys usually take the form of henchmen to bosses, guardians of dungeons or treasure rooms, plot twist creators, or even the head honcho of a horde or group of generic NPCs. A ratio of 1:1 does not guarantee survival of the players. Even a ratio of 1:2 may be potentially dangerous to players. Mini Bosses are to be treated for all aspects of combat as if they are other players. The creator of the Mini Boss should control it at all times, as it is they who know it best. Fighting one of these should take a while. Oh, and players know that you're going to take damage.

Bosses:
These guys are the biggest and baddest of the big and bad. One of these should pretty much stomp a player with no trouble in a 1:1 fight. It should take three players at the very least to take on a boss, and all of them will come away from the encounter with moderate to severe injury. The boss should be controlled by the creator of the NPC. Bosses usually have significant plot development behind them and may be such characters as the head of an evil organization, a corrupt king, or an evil lord or lady. To defeat a boss it usually should take a number of HOURS of posting. Bosses only appear at extremely significant points in the plot, so make it good.

Shops

Well this section will give you a small info on what can be found in the shops.

Weapon Shops:
These shops will consist of anything from normal everyday weapons to those all powerful weapons. An Example would be since this is a Fantasy RP a Mech. While not everyone will want to have a Mech some may and in this case they may purchase one from a shop that has them. Mechs Known as Gundams and Mechs of that power level can not be purchased. Such High-Leveled Mechs Are Reserved For Royal Family and Guardians Of The Realm Ranking People. Other items that you may find at a weapon shop may be a sword that can split into two blades. Such items as this will either be a costly item at the shop or be found in a Dungeon after defeating the Boss.

Armor Shops:
Like the weapon shop these will consist anything from normal everyday armor to that all powerful armor that you dream of. One thing to remember is that the stronger the armor the higher then price.

Magic Shops:
In these you may find runes and books that will WITH TRAINING allow your character to gain certain abilities, but it should be remembered that some characters are not allowed to use certain abilities. An example would be a Dark Elf using High Elf Magic.

Item Shops:
Items found here will be anything from food items to healing items to take with you on an adventure.

Other Shops:
These will consist of inns, taverns, and restaurants and will be areas to rest or just relax at.
