Ah, yes. Manny Ramirez. He's been in the baseball headlines as of late since he has recently returned from a 50 game suspension because he allegedly used steroids.

He also happens to be my favorite player, and one of the few reasons I would actually want to watch baseball. His "Manny bBeing Manny" behavior is very entertaining. I guess I like him and baseball for all the wrong reasons.

Why would I like such a "STEROIDAL POGUE CHEATER", as read an eBay listing for a game-used jersey card of said player?

Well, I don't hold much against him. Like I said, I like watching him goof off, mouth off, so on and so forth. Second of all, for a while there, the media acted like he was the only person who had used steroids.

Which is clearly not true. The report said there were 130 people who tested positive for steroids, and I guarantee that there's even more than that.
They are (or were) under great pressure to perform. And if one guy is cheating, he's beating me, so I better cheat too. (This logic doesn't work in Pokemon however, lol. Usually anyways)

Manny paid his price as it was handed down by the league. I don't think he has to do anything else, but as Joe Torre said, the ultimate price is that he has to live with this the rest of his life.
He's already hit 2 homers since his return (or more, if my count has missed some), albeit in those games the Dodgers lost. He's still a good player, even when he acts like a total clown in which I just laugh at his show.

He is what draws me to baseball.

That, and Derek Jeter, the Yanks, and the BoSox.

I didn't know you still watched baseball. I almost never watch baseball. I like to watch the All-Star home-run contest though. =)

I watch it every now and then. Like I said, Manny is the reason I watch... :D I don't nearly care for it like I do the others, but it's ok.

Manny, Manny, Manny. :D

You are amazing.

First, he gets hit in the hand by a pitch (ouch) in the previous game. X-rays negative, listed as day-to-day.

Then he decides it's best to sit out the next game. Bummer, because it's Manny Ramirez bobblehead night. Get a free bobblehead of Manny.

Before the game, Torre told him they may need to call on him, if he's able.

Bottom 6th, tie game, bases loaded. Manny puts on his helmet, the Reds make a pitcher change.

No batting practice, barely any warm-up, he stood up to the plate. One swing. One swing is all it took to send it out into Mannywood and garner him his 21st grand-slam, much to the cheers of the fans in the stadium and around the world.

The Dodgers would go on to win it 6-2, all thanks to Manny's game winning grand slam.

Awesome.

Manny's my favorite player of all time, too! Hitting a pinch hit grand slam on Manny bobblehead night was incredible, and he just did so many hilarious things when he was with the Red Sox, on top of being an elite hitter in both power and average. He went into the Green Monster once when he thought there was a pitching change, and when the Manager returned to the dugout, left field was empty! :D

lmao that's great.
fortunately for my sake I'm watching MLB more overall now.

I watched him hit the one on bobblehead night I think. If I didn't, I still got to see the highlights over and over. I watch SponsCenter every day and night, lol.

That's why he retired, so he could hunt under the water at the bottom of the sea for Batlantis and find the best bat, man. XD When he finds it he'll unretire and have the best season ever (after 50 game suspension, of course :P)
