Jumping off of the soft grass on which he was lying on, he reached into sheaths withdrawing both of his katana simultaneously. Skimming his tongue over both of them in quick succession, he grinded his teeth together a bit before muttering, "They're dulling up, might be time to make a switch," Resheathing his blades, he set off for the Village gates, engrossed in thought.*) (***Concealed Figure** , having set his mind on creating a new sword, he proceeded to travel to a Country he had heard of through sheer heresay, The Stone Country. It was believed that there was a man there fabled to have created some of the greatest swords in existence. After a few months of slow traveling, as he was in no hurry or rush, Gale approached the borders of the Stone Country. Placing his hand on top of his concealing headress, he let the bells hanging off of the tendrils chime once more in the wind, before entering the small, minor country.*) (***Concealed Figure** searched the countryside for a few weeks, approaching almost every friendly passerby he could, as a means of collecting more information. Every answer was the same, "They had heard of him, but he mostly kept to himself, he was a hermit." Feeling as if he was gaining no progress, a single man confronted him, speaking in low, hushed whispers. He said the man had passed and that he usually created his swords in a desolate cave inside a dormant Volcano on the southeastern border of the Country. And so Gale set off.*) (*Gale took but a few days to reach the volcano, he wasn't sure whether he should believe that the swordsmith was dead or not, but one thing was sure, his excitement and anticipation was growing. Looking upon the Volcano from below, the only looming structure for miles, he focused his gaze around the mid-section of it, trying to look for a way of possible entry, but to no avail. Circling the mountain while keeping his eyes open, they darted around frantically, searching for SOME way in. After about an hour, Gale picked up on something. He would never have seen the slight opening if a Salamander hadn't crawled out from it. Gale smiled under the elongated brim of his hat, this had to be fated. Channeling the his chakra through his tenketsu and into his hands, he infused them with chakra, as a means of scaling the mountain with relative ease. Nearing the entrance, he gave one chakra-enhanced jab to crevice, causing it to smash open, giving him enough room to enter, without having to crawl.*) (***Concealed Figure** admired the intricate carvings on the walls, as he made his way through the makeshift tunnel. They were precise and accurate designs for various weapons, none the same, all unique. Eventually he came upon a clearing. It was covered with minerals, ore, and metals , that one couldn barely discern where solid ground was. Stepping over random piles of rubble, he made his way towards the end of the dimly lit cave, where there were blue prints scattered across a desk made out of Rock. "Doton user.." Gale thought to himself, as he ran his index finger over the drawings, picking up a layer of dust. Wiping off the dust, nonchalantly on his britches, he stoops down, before inhaling a small breath. Exhaling the breath, he disperses the veil of dust, covering the blueprints before lifting it up and looking it over, almost instantly memorizing it with his photographic memory. Having done that, he flipped it over in his hands, looking at a detailed list of directions on the backside. "Hmm..Seems the Hermit did actually die..Guess I'll have to do it myself." he muttered with a toothy grin. *) (***Concealed Figure** rolling up the exclusive paper, he made his way through the clearing, and out into a chamber, closer to the inside of the Volcano. "Boy it's getting hot in here," he said aloud to no one in particular. Sliding his sleeves out of his jacket, and taking off his Concealing headdress, he walked over to the large rectangular prism, seemingly made with pure Doton Manipulation. Having memorized, the list of directions to making, the "Weapon" that the Swordsmith had left for someone he recalled some of the words inscribed on the back, muttering them to himself in his head."This is my legacy..If only I could have finished it before I die. I can see that that is impossible now, so I will leave this for the next generation. You who discovers this place, please I beg of you with my dying wish, make this blade." Coming out of his thoughts, Gale proceeded to perform a few heel kicks onto the large rock, seeing if it would break, apparently not. "Meh..I'm going to need some minerals to make this thing..Damn it." Looking around he found nothing, he sat there thinking for awhile until it came to him, and jumped up. "My swords of course..The reason why I came here.." Grasping his katana's by their handles, he didn't fully unsheathe them, staring at the words engraved on their blades for a bit. "Darkness is a blessing." "Death is only the beginning." Finishing unsheathing the blades, he tossed the sheaths on the floor, holding them up into the air, where a patch of sunlight shown through the top of the volcano, reflecting off of the blades and causing a bright, serene gleam. It was time.*) (*Gale seeing that everything was already set-up, he believed he was destined to create this sword, this masterpiece, this legacy. Seeing that the shape of the sword, had already been inscribed on a Doton piece, he brought both of his swords to a pool of lava, placing them in a basin positioned just over it. He folded his arms over one another, successfully crossing them, as he watched his swords slowly melt away. His upper body enshrouded in clearly visible perspiration and sweat, one would assume the droplet trickling from his right eye was just more sweat, due to the somewhat rising temperature of the Volcano, but no it was the last tear he would shed for his gone, but never forgotten katanas. Seeing as his katanas has melded together, forming a new substance, both steel and onyx fused into one, he grasped the Basin with Chakra-enamored hands, reducing the burning sensation that sprang through his body. Enduring it long enough to pour the new material into the Blade casing, he watched as it settled in, slowly but surely hardening.*) (*Gale observing that the Sword was not shaping into the right form, he knew he'd have to "bend" it, but he had no hammer, nor any other type of tool he could use. Thinking of only one thing, he used his already, chakra encased hands, and began to pound on the metal, relentlessly. Fighting the singeing pain he was feeling, he continued to hammer away at the piece until, it was in a plausible form. Looking at the blade, he nodded his head, hsi hands throbbing. "Almost there."*) (*Gale felt a small tremor, emanate through the Volcano. Apparently whilst he was shaping the sword, he had triggered a small chain of events, ending with a minor earthquake throughout the cave. Ignoring it, Gale placed the newly smithed sword on a raised platform, located just below the opening at the top of the Volcano. There, it would take the rays of the Sun, and radiate until it was well enough prepared for him to proceed through with the final step of the Sword smithing process, the last direction the Sage had left. Taking the oppurtunity to rest, Gale drifted off to sleep, snoring his worries away.*) (*Gale awoke to faint, but aduible rumbling noise. Startled he looked around, but as suddenly as it had appeared, it had gone away, now everything was still, absolutely still. His body, now clean of sweat, and salty liquid, he reached for his jacket, and his Hat, placing them both on. Following up, he jumped up to the raised platform, ricocheting off of a stray wall whilst using his backfoot as a spring. The swords literally beamed in the Sun's glows, it was time for the Final step. Grasping the sword, by the blade, as it didn't have a hilt or guard yet, he descended back down to the floor below, landing on his feet. Holding the somewhat heated sword, tenderly, he made his way to a dark corner of the cavern. There, there sat a barely discernible, to one who didn't know of its existence, trap door, leading down into a seperate, secret basement. Climbing down, still holding the sword with delicate care, he dropped down a Doton-made ladder. As his eyes adjusted to the dark, he activated his Kagura Shingan, searching for any traps, but what he found was something differe,t muhc more peculiar. Standing out in front of everything, there was a Huge chakra source, filled with Chakra reserves, located in the center of the room. As he neared it, he saw that is was like a resevoir, containing massive amounts of Chakra. "So this is why his creations were so famous...this...contraption." Placing his hand on the machine, he felt a sudden jolt of something shoot into his hand. "Safeguard?" he muttered to himself, before circling the machine, and eventually coming upon a track, on which he could place the sword. He then stood there, waiting for the thing to kickstart, but nothing happened. He tried, kicking it, punching it, and even biting it, but it all proved useless. After thinking it over for a minute, the answer came to him,"Too obvious..," he muttered as he placed his hands ontop of the track, and began to exert his chakra to his full extent. Through sheer manipulation, it made its way into the slots of the machine, empowering it and bringing it to life. "This guy was a Genius," Gale thought to himself as the Machine roared to life, and lit up the entire room. Slowly, the speed of the track began to pick up, causing the blade to move into the machine and out of sight. Keeping the machine up and running, Gale could only pray that it was doing its job, and designing the sword into the Hermit's desire. After a few minutes the sword emerged form the other end, glistening in the otherwise dull room. *) (***Concealed Figure** stop the emission of chakra through his tenketsu, in essence putting it on "pause", only to make his way over to the other end of the room to behold the Machine's work. What he saw completely caught him off guard. The blade, the guard, the hilt, the writing, everything looked exactly as he had imagined it. "I-incredible," Gale sputtered, he was lost for words, the sword couln't have come out any better, nor any worse. There wasn't too much of anything, and it wasn't lacking in any department, it was a dream sword, precisely how he had pictured it. But it was perfect, almost too perfect. Grasping the sword by the hilt, he shook a bit, the weight of the dirk, knocking him off balance, the sword had become heavier as well. Holding it up into the air, he scanned it with his eyes, before his eyes widened as he read the inscription, "Darkness is a blessing." on one side, and "Death is only the beginning." on the opposite side. He nearly lost his hold on the sword, as he stumbled back. "This is impossible," he said aloud. Numerous thoughts began running through his head, this machine was indeed one of kind, but how had it been invented. That was irellevant, he decided not to dwell on it any further. In actuality, th machine responded to your thoughts, seeing as it was your chakra being passed through it, but ofcourse Gale never figrued this out. As he reached for the newly spawned sword, he heard a loud shaking, as he lost his balance and the sword clattered to the ground.*) (***Concealed Figure** quickly, reganing his composure, Gale picked the sword up, as well as made a mad dash for the Doton-ladder. The rumbling wasn't stopping. He must've somehow made the Volcano active, through use of the large apparatus. Not taking the time to think about that, he rushed to the floor above, noting that the lava was quickly rising towards the top, the cave becoming much mroe humid and steamy. Increasing his chakra output with each stride, his skin began to boil, he was too close to the lava. Eventually it reached floor level, but it was still far out of reach from Gale. Barreling through the makeshift tunnel he had made earlier. His jacket tore, as he shielded his eyes and face with his arms. The moment heis body had escaped the catastrophe within, the Volcano imploded, releasing a thick jetstream of magma from its peak, it began to pour out, leaking down the sides of the massive structure. Quickly regaining his sense of mind, Gale limped through the Stone Country, eventually collapsing a way's off from the Volcano.*) (***Concealed Figure** soon came to, he was out of breath, out of chakra, and out of his mind. But at least he held the sword in his hand. Collecting himsel,f he forced himself up, he still had a bad limp, from his escape. Looking back at the devastation, he saw nothing but a thick pillar of smoke and ash lifting up into the horizon. Shaking himself off, as he was covered in coal and grime, he acted as if nothing had happened, limping his way back to the Water Country, he thought to himself, "I finished it..Giraisho is born."*) Edited by Gale, Apr 26 2010, 06:53 PM.
