wtf r u doing getting this many posts?
MXF is used by several commercial production systems, notably the SONY MSW-2000 series of IMX video recorders. Panasonic P2 digital video cameras can output MXF files with DVC Pro encodings. Avid editing equipment supports certain variants of MXF. MXF is also part of the ensemble of specifications associated with the Digital Cinema Initiative.

A SONY technical paper (no longer available on the Web in August 2007) stated that “MXF follows the AAF concept by distinguishing between ‘material’, i.e. metadata from the production stage and ‘file’ data, i.e. metadata on the final product. Within these material and file packages, all data are stored in ‘tracks’. The system metadata are kept in tracks of the timeline picture and sound tracks, whereas the user metadata are retained in shot, scene or production tracks. Not all of the metadata, however, need to be included. Most of them are optional, and producers can choose to create ‘simple’ MXF files first, and add additional information later.”

It’s not an easy thing for film producers to play or edit MXF files on Mac, because Mac system does not have native support for .MXF video shot by camcorders like Panasonic AG-HVX200P, Canon XF100, etc. In that case, UFUSoft MXF Converter for Mac software is what you need to do MXF file conversion. Please note that you must have the entire MXF file structure when loading them to UFUSoft product to do format conversion. If you just have some loose .MXF clips, your files will have image only without sound. See MXF file structure on Panasonic’s P2 card as below.

The above screenshot clearly shows .MXF clips are all saved in ‘VIDEO’ folder, while audio files are all stored in ‘AUDIO’ folder. When you importing .MXF clips from the correct file structure, UFUSoft Mac MXF Converter is able to recognize audio tracks from ‘AUDIO’ folder automatically, which ensures the converted files have both image and sound correctly.

UFUSoft MXF Converter for Mac features easy-to-use operating steps and user-friendly interface, so no matter you are a new user or an expert user, you are able to finish MXF file conversion easily.
