Panasonic HC-V720 Live Streaming HD Camcorder features a 1/2.33″ MOS sensor for recording Full HD 1080/60p video in the AVCHD format. The 21x zoom lens has a fast f/1.8 max aperture and a 35mm equivalent of 28-729.6mm, and the optical zoom is supplemented by an 50x Intelligent Zoom. Built-in Wi-Fi enables real time broadcasting via Ustream, and Near Field Communication technology allows users to connect a smartphone or tablet in one touch. Other features include a 3″ LCD touchscreen monitor, Five Axis Hybrid OIS, 5.1-channel surround sound, and iA Plus Mode.

Final Cut Pro 7 is new released with powerful new features like expanded ProRes codecs, improved speed/XML interchange/media management, etc and some time-saving improvements like automatic transfer, easy export, and so on. However, this new released FCP 7 supports AVCHD with at 1080p 24/25/30, 1080i 50/60, 720p 24/25/30/50/60, so the 1080 60p/50p MTS/M2TS is still incompatible with Mac FCP 7 NOW!

Step 2. Choose ProRes MOV or H.264/AVC MOV output format.

We are choosing .mov format, as this is the Mac compatible file extension. You can keep the 60fps by clicking the “Settings” button and enter 60 for the frame rate option.

Step 3. Merge Panasonic AVCHD files. (optional)

Select all the files and then click “Merge”, and the Panasonic HC-V720 1080 60p/50p MTS converter will join and combine the video clips into a single file as output.

Step 4. Convert HC-V720 MTS to MOV for Final Cut Pro 7.

Click the convert button under the preview window, the Mac Panasonic MTS converter starts converting 1080 60p/50p MTS videos to ProRes Mov or H.246 .mov, and joining the MTS files for editing in Final Cut Pro 7.

After converting and merging the MTS files, just import the output files to Final Cut Pro 7 and the video is in HD 1920×1080. You can also import the output videos to Final Cut Express (FCE) 4 for editing in full HD.

Tips:

If you are using Final Cut Pro 5 or lower version, you can also choose Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov) or HD video > HD MOV Video (*.mov) as output format for editing on Mac.
