It's been almost a year since I promised to do this, and after many hours and many obstacles I'm finally able to get it off the ground. I'll do my best, but for the most part progress on this project will be quite slow. The MISC Project. This is Marshie's Insane Screen-Capping Project, an ambitious undertaking which will eventually be a compilation of every meaningful frame in The World Ends With You. It will consist of hundreds of images for free use by the community for reference, in icons and artworks, and so on. MISC's current host is on StickyPix.net. It contains both image galleries for your perusal and batch .zip downloads. - Boot complete at 16 images. Download. - Intro complete at 114 images. Download. - W1D1 complete at 95 images. Download. - W1D2 complete at 28 images. Download. - W1D3 complete at 17 images. Download. - locations incomplete at 33 images. Download (districts only). - menu incomplete at 0 images. - ripscomps incomplete at 22 images. If my quality check misses a certain image or if you find that I am missing a frame you need, contact me and I will try to find it and add it to the database. Updates Spoiler: click to toggle Credits Spoiler: click to toggle All images, in whole or in part, are © Square Enix and Jupiter. Do not use them for profit. - Added 61 images to 'W1D1' (up to the intro). W1D1 I expect to have completed and posted relatively quickly, because I already capped it months ago using a newer (faulty) version of iDeaS, and while several of those images were corrupt, many of my old screenshots are still good. In fact, I believe that all of my shots for the remainder of W1D1 are good, but since I'm dividing W1D1 and the game's intro, I want to sort out all of the intro's caps before quality-checking and posting the second half of W1D1. -- Added 114 images to 'Intro' (complete). -- Added 26 images to 'W1D1' (complete). -- Added 12 images to 'ripscomps' (W1D1 & intro). It turns out my web host can't handle .7z or .txt files, so I can't host downloadable packages or the download links for completed sections on my webspace. The OP will be updated to include download links to .zips of the contents of each completed folder. I've also added the folder 'ripscomps' for rips, composite images, and pans. It will contain sprites and images that I have ripped or composed myself from existing frames to make them more accessible and easier to use. Due the fact that I will be constantly adding images to this section, there will not be a download available. Now that I have my first truly complete sections: if you are looking for a certain frame to use and don't want to navigate the filedump that is my website or download a hundred spare image files, contact me and I will send you that frame. Likewise, if you find that I've overlooked a frame or set of frames in a completed set, please contact me. I'll do my best to go back and fetch those frames for you and add them to the website and update the .zip. For this reason, please avoid hotlinking the MISC images. Sections are labelled 'complete' because I've gone through the entire process of recording and capping those chapters, not because every feasible frame is included. I will have to renumber completed sets if I need to go back and add a frame that's been overlooked or if there's something wrong with a frame that I've already posted, and that will make your hotlinks direct to the wrong images. |

-- Added 3 images to 'ripscomps' (Intro). Just Shiki's, Joshua's, and Beat's poses during the pans. 'CompIntro_Shiki104' corresponds with 'PanIntro_104', etc. I'm also fiddling around with filenames, because I'm anal retentive and keep finding things wrong with how I organize things. |

I know I said progress wouldn't be fast, but just popping in to let you all know I'm still working on this. I actually made leaps and bounds today. When I started I considered the debug menu to be of minimal helpfulness, but I've been exploring its mysteries and I've just found the directory for every cutscene in the game. Running them straight from the debug menu also gives me a much more reliable framerate, so my previous strategy of recording my playthrough of each day (including a lot of useless dialogue, battles, etc) is now obsolete~ I'm still recording all of them, but hopefully you guys can look forward to quicker updates now. Edit: Done exploring the debug menu and... Wow. The stuff I could do with this thing puts everything in the Spriter's Resource to shame. Expect a whole whack of rips in the future of this project. First updates of 2010~ -- Removed 36 images from 'W1D1' (not reflected in .zip). -- Added 2 images to 'ripscomps' (general). Sad excuse for an update, I know. I removed the non-unique images from W1D1, i.e. the messages that pop up when you get a Sticker/Pin or instructional messages. The templates for those with eventually be in ripscomps, so there really wasn't any point. The two images I put into ripscomps should at least be useful, though. There are a compilation of top-screen images while scanning (Neku and and the different coloured Noise symbols) and rips of the icons on the bottom screen. |

-- Added 28 images to 'W1D2' (complete). -- Updated file 'ripscomps/Rip_BottomScreen'. Silly me left a bunch of stuff out from the bottom-screen icon-dump. I'm probably still missing stuff, but it's got the phone icon and converastion icons now. |

Big news! Marshie finally got an image gallery host! -- Moved host! Image galleries and downloads available at http://stickypix.net/up/browse/Marshmello -- Added 2 images to 'ripscomps'. -- Reflected changes to 'W1D1' in 'w1d1.zip'. It's not the prettiest gallery, but it's awesome for navigating and previewing the images. It can also host the .zips, so you can download the packages now. No more resorting to the useless filedump on my webspace~ |

-- Added 29 images to 'locations' (complete). -- Updated file 'ripscomps/Rip_BottomScreen'. All of the district topscreens are up, except stupid me forgot that the images for several of them changes depending on the top brand (right now they're all default). Marked 'complete' anyway because all of the districts are represented, and they can be batch-downloaded in the zips section of my site. Not a priority, but I'll probably cap all of the different brands later. I also added the cursor animation and '...' speech bubble to 'Rip_BottomScreen'. So far I can't get the '!!!' speech bubble to show up correctly on iDeaS, but if I do find a working instance of it I'll cap that too. Edited by Marshmello, Feb 16 2010, 06:01 PM.

-- Added 17 images to 'W1D3' (complete). -- Added 4 images to 'locations' (incomplete). -- Added 4 images to 'ripscomps'. -- Updated file 'ripscomps/Rip_BottomScreen'. 'locations' is now marked incomplete because I was dumb and forgot about shops. Cosmic Corner, Lapin Angelique, and Ramen Don are up, as is the unnamed place that Reapers hang out in. I added several sets of rips to 'ripscomps' that are all incomplete, but what's there so far should be useful (especially the character portraits). 'rip_BottomScreen' now has that pesky exclamation point bubble that I couldn't get before, and imprinting dialogues. |
