Set in modern-day Liberty City, focusing on Triad crime syndicates, it will feature new characters, a custom game engine, and the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Due for a release sometime in Winter 2008, Take-Two Interactive has announced plans to take advantage of the unique hardware aspects of the Nintendo DS. Not much is known about this game, but there is a rumour summary. What is your opinion on GTA coming to the DS? I think there are two ways to take this, and both are taken from a hardcore perspective. The first is, "Yes, GTA on the DS, Nintendo has it on their system!". The second being, "Even though I guess I am a little excited that they are making a GTA for a Nintendo system, I am mad that they did not announce any real new hardcore Nintendo games in the form of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and others, so I am going to be mad and not pick up GTA: CW!" So, what do you think?

For me, it really boils down to the game play, and more specifically, the perspective. personally, I always found the GBA top-down style GTA's to be boring. So I think they should make it 3-D with, say, Metroid Prime Hunters graphics. And I've seen good car design on the DS before so I really believe the DS can pull it off, roughly, but good overall. I voted for #2 because even though I am really excited about this game, I would probably have preferred an original Nintendo release be announced especially after playing the slightly disappointing Twilight Princess and Corruption. But I'm not furious or anything, I realize really good games, especially sequels take a lot of time to produce. |
