Tristan and Isolde received poor reviews, it was boring for a lot of people. I saw it two or three years ago, whenever it was out in theatres, and only once, but I enjoyed it. Both Tristan (looking similar to Jeff Bukley) and Isolde (reconizable as the blonde from Underworld) were easy on the eyes, beautiful scenes with the two of them, a dramatic storyline, and not short on romance. I would recommend seeing it at least once. What's a great film you have seen that you would recommend someone see?
Tristan and Isolde came out in 2006, I think? I didn't go to see it because of the reviews I read of it, but saw it last year and loved it. You can't believe everything you read, I guess, you have to form your own opinion(s). A great film of 2008 was The Dark Knight, with raving reviews it was expected. I haven't followed many of the superhero movies (Spiderman, Superman, XMen, etc) but I've always kind of liked Batman. It was an excellent movie.
I didn't go to see The Dark Knight, the "raving reviews" turned me off from it. Superman Returns (2006) was good, X-Men (2000) was great, I was disappointed in the following ones (though still good movies) when Dr. Gray dies. Without Famke Janssen, (left with Anna Paquin and Halle Berry as leading actresses) you can forget me watching se(tri)quals.
I haven't seen any of those. Well.. if you've never seen Being John Malcovich, I'd recommend it. It might be a weird suggestion because it's older, but I'm always surprised by how many people have never heard of it. I can't think of anything about the movie that isn't interesting, original, or completely innovative, and the acting is great as well. Anyway, if you've never heard of it, you should check it out if you like dark comedies.
I thought a lot of it was sad really. There's a lot of hidden meaning in it too, like how we sometimes feel like we're just these other people stuck in someone else's body, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. Also how a lot of times we really think we'd like to be someone else, but it's never how we think it would be. I don't know, my favorite scenes are actually with the marionettes.
