The sun was beating down pleasantly on the earth, soaking rocks with it's heat and the water with it's warmth. Ari, the Dual Campus's only Wild Mage, was laying out on the rocks with her indestructible anatomy book at hand. She figured, after having mastered the anatomy of most canines and felines she should look to the herbivore sections of the book. Turning the page a detailed illustration of a zebra showed itself on a page. The figure seemingly hand painted into the book. Along the side listed the general information about the zebra, scientific name, species variations, habitat, food, etc. For now in the lazy sun Ari just admired the artwork. Every so often Ari would rest her head in the crook of her arm and doze only to wake from a bird call and go back to studying. Too bad there wasn't a zebra on campus. There was a weird horse zebra thing from an exchange student, but that didn't count. A zenzen she thought she remembered it being called. It hadn't been all that talkative at all so Ari never gave him much more thought. Flipping a few more pages forward Ari came across a rhino and the whole process started again. Doze, wake up, flip pages, doze wake up, etc. She loved lazy days like this even though learning animal anatomy wasn't all that exciting. It came naturally to her. Human healing however was still something she should study more but since it didn't come as naturally to her Ari ignored it for the most part. Really she should focus as knowing how to heal and fix injuries was a prime skill to have. But on such a nice day who cares? It's not like she had a teacher anyways. |

Now one might wonder why a particular water wolf was meandering through the namazu channel when she belonged in a whole other realm with a pack of other wolves. Well you see Gina is slowly gaining secondary abilities from her pack as her spirit grew in her physical body and the first one had happened to be summoning Waterfall. That had went well enough and as Gina went through her training she learned how to simply open portals to her own realm and during on such training session a portal opened up next to the pups…. Needless to say Waterfall ended up falling into the mortal realm growling at the pups for their mischief. Sure, she could simply travel back but she was here now and she wanted to think of a very through revenge scheme and that would take time, ‘sides the campus was rather beautiful, it wouldn’t hurt to walk around for a little bit and enjoy herself just a bit. As she walked she saw all sorts of interesting plants and animals, none of them as intelligent as the ones in her home realm but they also weren’t magical creatures either. It was nice to be in a place not made of magic and home to gods and goddesses, it was laid back and relaxing. Speaking of relaxing, Waterfall saw a familiar face in the brush and the water wolf couldn’t help but walk up to her. Of course before hand she studied her for a moment and realized she was ‘studying.’ Once close enough the wolf looked at the book and snorted, “this is no way to learn things young wild magi.” Waterfall looked up to the girl and smiled, “I see this time we meet you have both your feet, this is an improvement.” |

Dozing off again in the warmth of the sun Ari startled when she heard a voice that was so out of place Ari thought she was dreaming at first. Lifting her weight up onto her elbows the wildmage looked around until she spotted the voice's source. It was Waterfall! Wait, Waterfall was here? What the heck... wasn't she part of Silver' Realm? Though she supposed if the animal gods of the Realm she was familiar with could enter Earth, why not Waterfall and the others? "Hey Waterfalll. Yeah, I guess lying out in the sun isn't the best area to focus on learning. And yes thank you I have my feet!" Ari grinned in a teasing way about the feet comment. It had been a dramatic event, loosing her foot. "So what are you doing here? Silver summon you here for something?" Sitting up Ari closed her book softly and set it off to the side. She wasn't concerned with it getting damaged - it was magicked to resist damage or harm of any way. Tossing her long hair over her shoulder Ari watched the water wolf come closer. It really was odd to see here here. |

The wolf felt her tail softly hit the ground as it moved behind her, a soft smile took hold of her and if Ari looked to the wolf’s eyes she would be able to see a mixture of all sorts of blue swirling around. A closer look at her fur would reveal a mix of blues and greens and if she looked long enough the fur would begin to look more like water than fur, it would give the impression that if one were to run their finger’s though the wolf’s fur they would come out wet. But of course they wouldn’t. “Well of course not, being in the sun laying down is only good for naps and relaxing while watching pups, everyone knows that,” the wolf said in almost a condescending tone of voice, “I was more talking about your choice of how to study not where, these books,” she looked down to the one Ari had been holding, “give you facts and pictures, nowhere near to the way things will really look and feel. I do not understand why you mortal pride yourselves on the ability to read, it hampers your wantingness to experience things.” The wolf took a deep breath, “There are so much better ways to learn then that!” the wolf huffed a little bit, “And Gina did accidently summon me with the help of those blasted pups!” A soft growl left her throat, “they are lucky I decided to enjoy the mortal realm for a bit today. Speaking of enjoying and experiencing, maybe I could help you learn in a way better than that book.” |

Huffing at the remark about her book Ari scooted closer to the bound knowledge. She liked her book thank you very much! Sure it wasn't magical beyond it's resistance to damage, but still.... it had a lot of information in it! A lot more than some of the animal anatomy books the school library had - she had looked and compared them all. But it would seem Waterfall had a point. It really didn't help her learn how to heal, just what made up the bodies she was able to heal. Sighing in defeat Ari scowled in jest, "I see your point there. So what would you suggest?" It was true though too, Ari hadn't much experience in the actually healing aspect of her healing powers. Sure she knew a fair amount, but physically she was still a low level in experience. Excitement hit Ari then, would Waterfall really have a way to lend her more healing experience? She'd take anything she would have to offer. After all it wasn't every day an elemental offered to help you in your studies. |

Waterfall simply smirked as the girl before her huffed and moved closer to the book. The water wolf walked over and placed a pay on the book and rose an eye brow, “this is a crutch,” was all she said before Ari realized she was defeated and offered the wolf the chance to tell her what she thought was better and Ari would see a glint in the wolf’s eyes before the wolf chuckled a little bit, “Young child just remember this is because of your connection to my Alpha, take that as a good thing or not your choice.” The wolf moved quickly and latched her teeth on the girl’s arm before she could even be given the chance to react. When the wolf moved away Ari would see no wound, “Experience is what I have to offer, unfortunately there is no current war or any collection of wounded animals so I offer a piece of my knowledge how your brain processes it may differ,” she smirked a little bit, “pending on how you….’react’ maybe I will take you to a place where you may be able to help one or two animals….” Ari would feel a flood of thoughts and feeling that would put themselves together in the forms of memories. And those memories would hold different experiences of how Waterfall had actually healed different species; both natural and mythical. Whether or not Ari liked the ‘gift’ of knowledge would determine what the wolf did next… |

Seeing a wolf, despite being seemingly made of water, come up close to her and open her mouth near her arm didn't phase Ari at all. In fact when the teeth punctured into her arm it took Ari a moment to realize what happened. Looking dumbstruck at the area where moments ago had a wolf jowl around it Ari slackjawed once again before clicking her mouth shut. "You bit me." she accused correctly, voice not angry but clearly showed how honestly surprised she was. Really you'd think her constant dealing with animals would have made her more attuned to possible 'attacks' but it seemed it had done the opposite. Help some of the People? She'd want to help anyways! About to say just that Ari felt the 'reaction' Waterfall mentioned in light passing. A rush of thoughts bombarded her head and it was only her past experience in hearing hundreds of thoughts, memories, and feelings from other animals that she didn't shut down mentally. Immediately Ari settled into a meditative stay, not even aware of her body shifting to bring her arms in and legs crossed with head down eyes closed. Breathing deep and slow Ari focused her thoughts inward. Her copper and light green wild magic came to her aid and grabbed bunches of knowledge from Waterfall in what could be described as a 'hands grabbing randomly', then released the knowledge bit by bit as Ari realized what information she had in front of her now, where to 'store and organize' it, then calling for more. She had no idea how long she was within her own mind learning more in regards to healing than ever before. It also gave Ari a chance to re-organize her mind from the most recent DNA-like transfer allowing her to shift into an even larger range of animals. Finally satisfied in how she absorbed the information Ari opened her eyes and lifted her head. Stretching her back out (and hearing many satisfying pops) Ari breathed in deeply again and sighed. That felt good. Spotting Waterfall Ari smiled and nodded her head. "That was incredible Waterfall. Thank you." |

It only surprised Waterfall a little when it took a couple of seconds for Waterfall's bite to actually faze Ari. The water wolf noticed that the girl wasn't mad or upset in anyway....simply surprised. Though considering she was a sentient wolf it was a slight surprise she would bite. Well, more for her than a couple of the others in the pack. She was a nonviolent wolf and she liked to heal over causing damage. Whereas Kouga loved to cause so much death and destruction. And once her words soaked in she could tell that Ari was ready to say something but she didn't get the chance. Waterfall watched Ari move into a meditative state to take all the information she had just received to organize it and see just what she was offered. It was a while before Ari came out of that state and in that time Waterfall had curled up next to the girl and simply closed her eyes for a nice little nap. The nap was very much needed after dealing with the pups today. Of course the human before her thanked her as she yawned, "It is a pleasure to assist those close to my Alpha." She smiled a little bit, "Now would you like to try out that information and heal a few of the People? I am sure I could easily find a few in this world that could use a healing touch." Seeing as Ari seemed like the type to say yes to that sort of thing Waterfall opened a nice little portal that looked to be the color of sand. Waterfall would waste no time in walking through it and once on the other side of said portal, if Ari walked through it, she would see a rather large Elephant with a gunshot wound on his leg. |

More portals. Yay. They always ended in the portal traveler experiencing the strangest of sensations. Taking a breath Ari stood up and followed Waterfall through the portal, stepping from rock to hot sand and tall grass. The moment her full body was through the portal Ari could both see ans sense the elephant up ahead and started to run. Poachers! What assholes. Ari would have continued on a rant about poachers but put her energy into focusing on the wounded elephant than her hate. "Shhh, shh there Savanna-Walker. I'm here. I may smell like a Two-Legger but I promise you I am more Sister than any Two-Legger you will have ever meet. Will you let me help you?" Ari hadn't dared approach the wounded mammal until given permission. Elephants were the largest land mammal after all and she had no wish to be stopped by a startled wounded bull elephant. Looking at Waterfall Ari gestured to the elephant. "How'd you know he needed help? Can you always sense those who are wounded?" That would not be an ability Ari wished to possess. Sure she could tell when someone was hurt, but not in any strict sense of it. |

Ari did go through the portal which the water wolf fully expected and almost immediately Waterfall could pick up on the girl's hate. This brought a smile to the wolf's face, not because she was hateful but because her hate was well placed. Human's need to hunt animals for parts of their body or offspring was very much wrong and Waterfall was pleased to see the youngling before her felt the same way. Her gifts would be well placed. Ari asked the Elephant for permission to help him and of course the elephant gave it to her, in of course whatever way an elephant would give it. The Elephant would also be very still as Ari went to work healing the giant mammal. Waterfall sat down on the ground with a soft smile simply watching, she was curious how the girl's abilities worked. Curiosity, it was something Waterfall shared with her Alpha. The the girl asked a question, Waterfall simply let the smile drop a little, "I knew simply because I wanted to know. I can close myself to whatever world I inhibit at the moment or I can open myself to it and feel the need that exists. Which is a blessing and a curse, but I am a healer and I wish to help those that can not help themselves when I can." She bowed her head a little bit, "'tis the pros and cons of being an immortal spirit." |

Stepping up to the elephant quickly but softly with care Ari set both hands on the flank of the elephant and closed her eyes, breathing in deep and slow with deliberation. She wasn't 100 percent sure how Waterfall's gift would effect how she healed someone and didn't want to rush into anything. The wolf's response was just rain in the background as she slowly slid into a meditative state, internally scanning the injuries and anatomy of the elephant. There were a few parasites inside, bruises here and there and a chipped tusk but the obvious main injury was the gunshot wound. Luckily it wasn't a fatal injury otherwise she'd be here for at least 10 hours and Ari was worried the poachers might come back. Well... not really. In fact she hoped they would be back so she and Waterfall could show them what happens when stupid Two-Leggers thought everything was theirs. This thought of retribution almost overwhelmed Ari so much she nearly lost her concentration and frazzled the healing beginning's. Quick focus saved her from trying to calm a would have been frightened elephant and cut of the chance she might not be able to attempt a heal a second time. She'd hate to leave the bull in a worse state than when she found him because she couldn't keep her thoughts focused! |
