Mission Statement
The Evotelluric Relief Interest Society, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its adherence to international law, will provide relief to victims of evotelluric disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Fundamental Principles
Humanity
The Evotelluric Relief Interest Society, born of a desire to bring assistance without discrimination to those affected by accidents in wake of the Evotelluric Dawn, and in its international capacity, to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Its purpose is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human being. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting peace among all peoples.

Impartiality
It makes no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. It endeavors to relieve the suffering of individuals, being guided solely by their needs, and to give priority to the most urgent cases of distress.

Neutrality
In order to continue to enjoy the confidence of all, the Movement may not take sides in hostilities or engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature.

Independence
The Movement is independent. The National Societies, while auxiliaries in the humanitarian services of their governments and subject to the laws of their respective countries, must always maintain their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with the principles of the Movement.

Voluntary Service
It is a voluntary relief movement not prompted in any manner by desire for gain.

Universality
The Evotelluric Relief Interest Society, in which all Societies have equal status and share equal responsibilities and duties in helping each other, is worldwide.

Services

The Evotelluric Relief Interest Society provides many programs worldwide to assist in the stabilization, support, and well being of families and persons affected by disasters and events caused by Evotellurics and other Races. Some of the programs provided by ERIS are detailed below.

Grief Counseling

ERIS offers Grief Counseling to anyone who has been affected by Evotrlluric based accidents. ERIS has a volunteer staff of at least 2,000 Psychiatrists worldwide, capable of relocating to assist with various events as they occur. If a victim isn't willing to meet with ERIS staff, or wishes to meet with another psychiatrist, ERIS will pay for 80% of the bill.

Funeral Assistance

For those lost tragically in evotelluric disasters, the Society will pay for a full service funeral of the denomination of the family's choice, if possible. They will also assist with 90% of the costs related to purchasing a funeral plot, and assist the family with placement in the financial support program, if necessary. Yearly, ERIS holds a second funeral service for all lost the past year in London, England, for all to attend, honoring both humans, evotellurics, and any lost to disaster.

Financial Support

ERIS pledges to help stabilize families who have just lost loved ones. After the proper verification of past wages, ERIS will implement the family in a plan to match the lost income, monthly, as long as it can be proved that the payment goes to the sustainment of the family, as deemed by the local chapter. ERIS will continue to support these families until they can bridge the gap, and support themselves, no questions asked. This is one of the founding principles the Society was made on. No family is without help.

Evacuation Efforts

In the wake of evotelluric fallout, or impending evotelluric disasters, the Evotelluric Relief Interest Society provides full evacuation support, as allowed by local governments. This may include, but is certainly not limited to charter buses, boats, and aircraft. Each ERIS chapter also includes a volunteer search-and-rescue team prepped to try and assist the rescue efforts of the local government, and finding those trapped in the aftermath. No one gets left behind.

Medical Expenses

Medical expenses are commonplace in the wake of an evotelluric based disaster, and those injured during the course of the disaster are supported in part by ERIS. For those with insurance, ERIS will pay the deductible, if possible, up to $1,000 a person. For the uninsured, ERIS will also cover up to that amount, or 50%, whichever is greater. This coverage is unbiased, towards anyone harmed in an evotelluric disaster, and towards whatever medical care is available or chosen. No life is not precious.

Education Programs

As an outreach effort, more recently the Society has began to offer classes at local education facilities to help bridge the gap of understanding between humans and evotellurics. Classes cover what evotelluric based disasters are, what programs ERIS offers to assist, and conversely, what good evotellurics have done in the world. This class is free to any who will take it, and taught by volunteers, those who support the cause and everything it stands for. This class is an effort to quell anti-evotelluric based sentiments, and promote a message of peace and understanding, on both sides.

Structure

The Evotelluric Interest Society is a worldwide charity and cause, and as such, it's structured in a way to allow it to continue and operate in an orderly fashion in each country that hosts a chapter, without being slowed down by bureaucracy. ERIS has roughly 2,000 chapters worldwide, most countries hosting a single chapter, while some larger countries (Russia, Canada, China, the U.S) holding multiple chapters. The hierarchy of the society is shown and described below.

Evotelluric Relief Interest Society
President
The Council
Regulatory Committee
Chapter Leaders
Volunteers

President
Marcus L. Pearson

The President of the Society is in charge of regulating policy, as well as monitoring and facilitating worldwide events. In the wake of a large-scale disaster, the President is the one who oversees the efforts of the Society, and coordinates the Society with the local government to settle the situation quickly and efficiently. They are the face of the Society, and the speaker for all public relations of ERIS. Normally, the President is the only paid position within ERIS, given with all the responsibilities they must undertake, holding a regular job is impossible. The set salary is $200,000 a year, as any travel, room, and board that is not offered by local support is entirely on the President to pay for. The current president has refused this salary however, and instead taken only $10,000 a year for room and board, supplementing with his own savings.

The presidential candidates are chosen at a bi-yearly summit of ERIS, by the board. They are then voted on by all the chapter heads and volunteers over the next month, and put in place immediately following.

The Council

The Council is made up of 10 volunteer members of ERIS who oversee everything the president does. By a quorum vote, they are able to overturn anything the president may try and establish for the Society, in order to keep a check and balance within the system of power. They are also the president's advisers and aides, tasked with helping keep the president abreast of any events transpiring worldwide that might need ERIS' attention.

The Council is also charged with overseeing the regulatory committee, each council member looking after 20 committee members to see that their work is done fairly and properly, and that everything is in order for their given area. If necessary, Council members are charged with the power to remove committee members, requiring an immediate vote to replace them. This is tasked only to be done when it is seen that a committee member is acting unjustly, or neglecting their duties.

Council members are chosen at the yearly summit, from the chapter heads of various chapters worldwide. They are voted on by all the chapter heads and volunteers present within ERIS for one month, and assume their position effective immediately upon vote.

Regulatory Committee

The regulatory committee is made up of 100 volunteers charged with the task of overlooking the 2,000 chapters worldwide that the organization possesses. Each member of the committee is charged with overlooking 20 chapters, on average, to ensure that the chapter leaders are following the policies and guidelines proper with the Evotelluric Relief Interest Society. If a chapter leader is acting unjustly, it's their duty to inform the Council and the President, to allow action to be taken, as well as document the evidence from their case. These situations are rare, but it's a measure to prevent corruption in an organization tasked with helping others, and to keep things balanced and neutral.

The committee is chosen at the yearly summit by the Council, from the chapter leaders. They are voted on by the Council, and require a quorum vote to be put into place.

Chapter Leaders

Chapter Leaders are tasked with overseeing the actions and duties of their various chapters to organize the volunteers and attend to disasters wherever they crop up. Chapter Leaders are mostly in charge of making sure all services ERIS provides in their region are running smoothly, and without error, as well as making sure all services are not being abused, or misfiled. At the end of the day, they're in charge of efforts in their region, and relations with the local authorities and government, for small scale, day-to-day endeavors.

Chapter Leaders are chosen by volunteers in their region, and voted on by volunteers in their region, yearly.

Volunteers

The most important part of ERIS, and the heart and soul of the Society. Volunteers are people just like you who give their time, energy, and talents to the cause of helping people in this Post-Dawn world. All it takes to become a volunteer of ERIS is to sign up at your local chapter headquarters--When something you can assist with happens, ERIS will notify you and ask if you want to help. For those who want to take a more active role, there's numerous tasks within the chapter headquarters from book-keeping, accounting, and so forth, that need doing, and the Society is glad to accommodate anyone who wants to help.

[[Disclaimer: All positions within the Japan HQ Branch are filled currently, being a very evo-sympathetic country. Just so I don't over-extend myself.]]
