It was that time of the year again...Even for those who were having trouble adjusting to the warm Japan, the steady thirties and fourties they had been feeling, today was a day designed just for them. Normally, the Headmasters only intervened on Christmas to give the semblance of snow and ice, to feel like home. Today perfect, gentle snowflakes fell to the ground, and a cold wind blew across campus. It was the kind of weather you spent snuggled up with a loved one and a cup of hot chocolate. It was the kind of weather people thought of, when they thought of winter. Over the plaza hung a banner, signifying the theme of the season this year--“Winter Wonderland”. Over the past two weeks, students had played games, participated in the carnival, answered various trivia questions...Now it was time to cap off the season with something big. Something grand, and as the games wound down, and drew to a close, every student's attention would be drawn to the fliers telling of the magical event this evening. There would be food, drink, snacks galore, candy as far as the eye could see, music, dancing, live performances—It was to be the Grand Event of the end of the year, and every student was invited. The plaza had been retrofitted just for this evening...Students were free to come, and go, at all hours of the night, and inside the building was toasty and warm. The upper levels had been locked off for this evening, and a makeshift stage had been created over the help desk, leaving plenty of room for the performances of the eve. Streamers hung in festive red and green, stretching from wall to wall, and between the pillars of the room. Along the wall that held the stairs, tables had been set with all manner of Christmas treats. Hot cocoa, rich cider, milk, cookies, fudge, chocolate delights of all shaped and sizes, a bowl full of jelly beans, whatever might they be? There were cookies of every kind imaginable, the chefs of the cafe on campus, and the chef of the cafe in Fukuoka had collaborated to create a veritable feast of snacks, more than enough for every student on campus. If you named it, it was there. Pies, cakes, cheesecake, there were rumours that a certain Southern Belle had also lended her hand, but there wasn't any way to prove that. The music! The campuses had hired a live band to perform, ready to play any stock of festive holiday tunes to suit any student, and with the magic of a PLEASED field in effect, everyone could understand every word, no matter what culture they sang from. The band could also give way and play music for the students if they wished to perform, and rumours abound of what acts may be happening this eve, as the stage was open to any student. That wasn't to say there wouldn't be any kind of moderation to the evening. Various teachers and campus staff were participating in the event as well, and weapons were checked at the door—There wouldn't be any need for them tonight. There wasn't a worry though, every weapon was just returned to the assigned student's room on campus, they could return for it after the night was through. They'd also be on the lookout for troublemakers and offenders, and anyone violating a harsh rule, or fighting, would be taken aside. Otherwise, the teachers would be rather lax this evening, it was the holidays after all. And just weeks before Christmas, they could afford to be gentle about it all. As the students would enter, they'd see a table placed already on the stage, with a white sheet draped over it. Stacked underneath were clearly boxes, and waiting up on the stage was one of the teachers, waiting for everyone to finish filing in. Or at the least, a sizable crowd. Some might remember his dark brown hair and half-rimmed glasses from looking over a physics textbook at them five times a week. Now he seemed fit to give a speech, Professor Makarov, Dragos Makarov. When a majority of the students had filtered inside, the lights dimmed a little, and the speaker system kicked on, Professor Makarov having a wireless microphone for the proceedings. “First of all, I'd like to thank you all for coming, and congratulate you all on another year at Avalon and Azura, whichever your home may be. It's been something of a rough year for all of us, but we've pulled through together, as a team, and as a family. That's part of why we're more than proud to announce and unveil this year's new uniform, for the students who've been with us for four years, and for the active students in the community who deserve this honor. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fourth Year Uniform!” He wasn't expecting any applause, any cheering, but two of their fellow students walked onto stage at this point, wearing somewhat traditionally themed attire from their host country. “I know more than a few of you have led your fellow students these past trying months, and with that in mind, the Fourth Year Uniform will help inspire those around you with a Morale Boost, enabling both you, and they, to take on tougher tasks with more chemistry. For those of you with something of a sweet tooth, the boys in R&D cooked up a Snack Pocket, just for you, so feel free to give it a try with the snacks we've provided. In addition, those who've been here long enough will be able to Widen Their Focus from one field of study, to more. You've shown admirable improvement, so this adjustment is to further your learning, not let it be stunted by a single major. Those of you among us who Mentor their fellow students will be pleased to know we've broadened the scope of how you may do so, giving you leave to run small classrooms of your fellow students in imparting your lessons. Lastly...'Tis the season, and with this in mind, the school has made it easier to Gift things from one person to another, allowing you to spread good cheer, and warm greetings this holiday season, and beyond. I'd like the students from this list to come up, and receive their Fourth Year Uniform personally.” The list wasn't long, but it was representative of those among the student body who'd really gone above and beyond in their time here...and this was their reward, one that Professor Makarov was very proud to give. “Finally, I want to wish you all a very merry holiday season. Now let the festivities commence!” The band immediately followed the speech, starting in with some old carol or another...Christmas time was here, and it was time for all the students to enjoy a Winter Wonderland. [[OOC: There's no list. Feel free to apply for your 4YU at your leisure, and wear them for the dance if you so wish—Just no Morale Bonuses will apply, until they're approved, and you only get a forward like this for this topic, you can't wear the uniforms outside of it until your request is formally approved. The Dance will remain open through the month, and beyond, so feel free to post at your leisure and enjoy the festivities with your fellow students. Thank you all for another wonderful year at Shadowside, and here's to many, many more! PS: Z, your cue.]] Edited by Diss, Dec 14 2011, 09:04 AM.

'Tis the season to be jolly. Given all that they've been through, many have managed to pass all of that intact, probably due to the efforts of...pretty much everyone. And now it's for the most part fun, games, and goodies for this month. There was also the the rolling out of the new next level of school uniforms and the granting of those who had already qualified for it. Those were among the main highlights for this year's end-of-the-year winter dance. Of course, he wasn't going to make the same kind of mistake that he had done last year at the LeFer-sponsored party. It was likely that Andreja still remembered that moment. But never mind that. That was the past. Now, most of the school, not quite having enough 'new blood' to replace the ones lost by the two major incidents considering it was a bit of a smaller group than last year, had filed into the plaza for this event. Then one of the teachers came around and delivered a speech on how well this year came about, and perhaps as a reward for sticking it out, the new uniforms were unveiled, as shown by a couple of examples in action, one for each school, one for each gender. The theme for the fourth year was a samurai's (less armor-like version) outfit. Okay, so from Link for third year to Mitsurugi for the fourth year for Chris. Then the benefits of the uniform were listed out. Morale Boost ability, for giving the newer students an extra boost, so he'd have more support options. Snack Pocket, so that in case they had to go somewhere and were stuck for long periods of time, they would have some sort of food supply. Widened focus, so perhaps he could refine his fire spells faster without sacrificing his transformation's progress. Mentor system upgrade, so he could get twice as many lessons in the same amount of time as before, and finally, Gifting upgrade. He had given his support to Falque and Greg with the gifting system, so maybe if someone needed some support, he could give more. Finally, those who had qualified to have one right away were listed out, with Chris's name being listed somewhere in the middle. Perhaps despite all the misadventures, someone, likely a history teacher, put in a good word for him. Chris didn't need to deal with the crowd around him in order to get there, since he could just fly over it. Once he got and tried on his new uniform, he headed over to try out the Snack Pocket function, grabbing a decent-sized tannenbaum-shaped cookie and putting it in once he found it, then pulling out one and munching on it. Chris then dug in to see if it worked. Bingo. Another cookie. Edited by KurisuMurei, Dec 15 2011, 07:07 PM.

“Say what you want about me, but I always tell the truth.”
|
Malakai let out a small sigh. In all honesty, he was a bit nervous, though his face probably didn't show it. His hands did, as they kept playing with his 'costume', if one could call it that. He was used to being in the background, being quiet. Not...not singing and dancing. Well, it did have it's perks, at least. He was getting paid, so his family didn't have to pay for stuff for him for a while. And he got to see the Four Year Uniforms. And Jack would be watching. Oh Ra Jack would be watching. As would the entire school. Or those that showed up, at least. Maybe he wasn't ready for this...but he wasn't going to back out now. Dom put a lot of work into Mal, after all, and the pole dancing lessons were...interesting, but helpful. Well, whenever Dom announced it, he'd be going on stage. And damn it all, he was going to perform his heart out. If only his hands would stop fiddling with his 'costume'...but once he got started, Mal was pretty sure that would stop. Pretty sure.... "Oh sweet Ra...." |

It soothes my inner kitty!

Jack heard about the dance but before he could ask Mal to go with him Mal beat him to the punch and asked him to go to the dance. Jack of course agreed without thought and ended up being told that Mal promised him a show of his life time. Jack couldn't help but smirk and wonder what exactly his fire magi had planned. Of course before he could find out his sneaky boyfriend ran off to 'prepare.' He couldn't wait to see whatever show it was and show Mal exactly how much he enjoyed it, 'cause no matter what it was he was sure he would enjoy it. So while Mal prepared and the dance was set up, Jack headed to the showers and got all nice and cleaned up. He then went about gathering his school uniform, after all it was a school event, that is what he should wear, right? He hoped that was the case, though if it wasn't he could dash back his room and change real quick. Once he was ready he headed out to the plaza, the decorations looked amazing and everything looked great. He watched all the four year students get their uniforms before he made his way to the front of the crowd and as near to the stage as he could. If his boyfriend was preforming he wanted the best view and be visible to Mal. While he waited for the show to start Jack pulled out his flask and took a quick sip of Vodka. He hated to wait and the burn distracted him. |

I'm a time-traveler! I travel forward at the miraculous rate of 60 seconds per minute
|
It was a few days before the dance that Abigail happened to run into Leo. She hadn't expected it, but she'd been fetching a bit of supplies from Enso when she'd seen the tiger man. He'd offered to carry her supplies, and the next thing she knew he was walking her back to her room. "I'm baking some pies for the dance," Abigail explained, tucking her hair behind her ear. "It's nothing much, but I was glad to be able to help." Really now? that's awesome Abi, I'm sure it'll be a success Leo said, walking without a hurry really, knowing how Abi baked and cooked in general the teen was sure it'd be something the campus would never regret, although something made him wonder… He had never seen Abi in anything fancy, and if she was to sponsor such event, she surely had to be elegant What will ya be wearin', miss? He asked, curiosity in his voice. Abigail blinked at the question, smiling at him. "Wearing? I - hadn't thought much about it, I suppose. A dress, surely," she smiled at the tease to herself, smoothing a hand over her sweater. She was wearing a nice dress today - her gold one, one of her favorites. "This one, perhaps, if I have time to do laundry and iron it proper." Lovely as said dress and sweater was, Leo had to pause for a moment and see her from head to toe... It sparked in him that side, terribly hidden by himself, but brought out often by his sister, that demanded something more... Something that showed Abi off for what she was, a host, elegant host at it. Please don't take this wrong miss, the dress is pretty for sure, but this will be a rather important event... And I believe ya deserve to shine as much as your cookin' skills will. Leo said with a light smile, a shine in his eyes pointing that he had an idea going on. Abigail blushed a little. Oh, he wasn't - she oughtn't let him get to her like this, she knew a bit too much about him she thought, but compliments to her cooking skills were always appreciated. And he had such a nice way of phrasing things too. "Well, I... thank you, Mr. Leonard. I just hadn't thought much about it, I suppose. I might have something a bit nicer somewhere in the closet." Leo smirked, shaking his head lightly Just like the food will be freshly made, I believe ya should be seen in something new... Leo said, pausing for a moment thinking how to best phrase this, he had the manners after all, it was just the fact that he rarely ever had to use them so much what made him take time to think If ya let me, I'd be honored to take ya to get a new set for such special time... Of course I'd pay for it, what kind of gentleman I'd be if I didn't? Leo said, suspecting that such offer would be hard to refuse. Abigail came to a stop, her eyes widening. She blinked at the man, not quite sure what to say. She couldn't ever recall someone making an offer like that to her before; surely she couldn't possibly accept, as sweet as it was. And it was sweet, terribly so. "Oh goodness," she blushed, starting to walk again. "Well - I - that is very, very kind of you to offer, Mr. Leonard, but I just couldn't accept something like that. Thank you though, it's very sweet of you." Leo chuckled and shook his head Well, ya sure have done sweet things for the campus miss, like sponsoring a Thanksgivin' dinner, and startin' a club... I feel it's just right that ya get some of that sweetness ya gave us back. Leo said, continuing his walk along Abi's side. I must insist on this Abi, I think ya deserve to shine and be recognized for your effort. Abigail smiled at him. "This is my door," she said, softly, stopping. "Thank you for carrying my things, I do appreciate it," she reached to unlock the door, glancing back at Leo. "I just couldn't - I couldn't possibly accept such a thing. I do appreciate the offer, I really do." She smiled, stepping inside and letting Leo follow after. The room, as usual, was spotless. hmm Leo followed into the room, setting the bags on the counters in Abi's kitchen, this wasn't going as smooth or easy as he'd thought it'd be, so it was time to resort to the manners once more. What if we call it a Christmas present? From me to ya, a set to shine during this special night Leo said, helping too to unpack the items. Abigail crossed to the counter, carefully starting to unpack the bags, setting things in the fridge or in neat stacks as necessary. "Well, I - I don't know," she hesitated. Goodness, he really was insisting. She hardly wanted to be rude, and turning down a gift, especially one the giver clearly wanted given, wasn't really a polite thing to do, no matter how extravagant it seemed. And he'd called it a Christmas present... oh dear, it was downright rude to refuse, wasn't it? "All right," Abigail said after a moment. "Thank you very much, Mr. Leonard. I - I'll accept your offer." She supposed he'd forget anyway; she was sure he was a busy fellow. The next morning, though, it quickly became clear that not only had Leo not forgotten, he was rather insistent. Abigail was still making soft protestations when they reached the dress store itself, although her mouth shut and her eyes went wide as she made her way inside. "Oh goodness they're beautiful," she whispered, looking all around. It was a success really, Leo could barely contain his emotion... This was going to be surely an interesting experience for both Alright, I'll come pick ya up tomorrow morning then. Leo said, continuing with the day as usual. The next morning though, he was up early, showered and dressed before he'd usually be, if only because he had the compromise of taking Abi to see the dresses. She still protested softly, however they all seemed to be gone when they hit the store. Indeed they are, though I'm sure they'll look twice so when ya wear 'em Leo said, walking and looking at the different styles... He had to keep in mind this was for Abi, she wouldn't most likely accept something that went higher than her knee, or that showed too much her chest. Abigail admired the dresses, carefully running her fingers over the soft fabric. "Mr. Leo, this is - this is really too much. You shouldn't have..." she shook her head, admiring the softness of the fabric. "Goodness," she whispered again. Trying them on was another matter indeed. The first dress was so low-cut Abigail refused to even leave the dressing room, her face painted crimson red. She was still blushing when she emerged in the next dress, even though it's neckline was just below its chin and the cut showed none of her figure. "P-perhaps this one," she said, clearly embarrassed already. Goodness, it felt – wrong, somehow, showing off clothes for a man. ... Miss, are ya embarrassed of the body the Lord gave ya? I think it's pretty and as a creation of the Lord should be shown with some measure... We need something that sticks a bit more to your figure. Leo said, a gentle smile on his face, his cheeks slightly red too... He was used to this with his sister, not so with another girl, and besides involving religion into his arguments had never sounded right to him... it sounded mean most of the time, but he was sure Abi would see his point with that argument... He hope she would. Hmm, how about this one? Leo said, showing one that, while covering more on the legs and definitely more on the chest than his first suggestion still exposed her shoulders enough to be seen well. Abigail's face reddened further. "I hardly think this is the sort of matter that -" she blushed. "I do see your point, but vanity isn't exactly a virtue, and some things are best only seen by them that - that you care about, not every student at the school." She stepped forward, taking the next dress, biting her lip. She was being rude, wasn't she? "I'm sorry," she said a moment later. "This dress is lovely, I'll try it on. I - I must admit I'm a bit nervous, I've never done anything quite like this before, and certainly not with - not with a man I hardly know," she blushed a bit more, making her way back into the changing room. "So - so if I am a bit out of sorts, I hope you'll forgive me." Leo chuckled, yeah vanity wasn't a virtue, but was this really vanity or doing justice to her body? It was for Leo hard to tell. He shook his head when she apologized and explained that she was a tad nervous... He understood. No problem Abi, I'm also kinda nervous to be honest... It's the first time I help picking the dress of someone else than my sister... Though there's nothing to be sorry, I'm actually glad we get to do this... It's a wonderful chance and I think we'll walk out knowing more about the other. Leo said, chuckling lightly And with a pretty dress of course. He added, trying to lighten the mood. "Oh goodness," Abigail whispered, admiring herself in the mirror. She blushed. Was this vanity? Was it wrong that a simple piece of cloth could make her feel so lovely? She pushed her hair out of her face, tentatively. The deep green of the dress seemed to bring out the redness of it, compliment the smooth paleness of her skin. Her little golden cross hung visible against her chest, and she couldn't help blushing at the bare expanse of skin around it. The straps, barely even there, covered only a bit of her shoulder. It was - it was too much, surely, but she didn't think she'd ever felt more beautiful. Hesitantly, Abigail opened the door, looking at Leo. "What do you think?" She whispered. After a moment her hands rose to cover her chest, nervously. "Is - is it too..." she didn't know how to finish the sentence, head shaking lightly. Leo waited, it was an interesting part of this, the wait between attempts... It however sounded that Abi had found something she liked... Leo turned around to see her walking out of the small room, to say it lightly, he had to hold his jaw shut. Abi wasn't bad looking, even with the simple dresses she wore she looked pretty, in the kind of pretty that a young girl did... This was the next step, it was bringing that pretty to a more mature level, Leo nodded slowly Miss, ya look astonishingly beautiful... Not that typically ya don't, but this dress is... Well, it fits ya very well. Leo said with a smile, walking over and around Abi... Yes, it looked perfect for her... Only one thing left to know How do ya feel wearing it? Do ya like how ya look in it? I feel it's perfect, but... I'm also not the one wearin' it. Leo said, sure he was suggesting and putting the money, but in the end the idea was that Abi was comfortable... or just slightly out of her comfort zone, so she could explore a bit more her own beauty, without going as far as not looking like herself. Abigail blushed, hotly, one hand lifting to press against her cheeks. She felt - odd, with Leo looking at her like that, walking around her. She wanted to turn and follow him, almost, but she stayed put, not sure what the right thing to do was. "Thank you," she whispered, softly, glancing shyly at him. That was - that was some compliment, it truly was. She took a deep breath. "I feel - a little naked," she confessed, fingers resting against smooth bare skin. "I - and I... I feel beautiful," she blushed darker at that, taking a deep breath and barely bringing herself to meet Leo's eyes again. Leo met her eyes too, the gentle, friendly smile on his face showing what he felt really... It was never a lustful expression, but one of joy... Yes it was natural that she felt a tad naked, if only because she had never quite tried something like this most likely... Well, it shows a tad more than your typical dresses miss, but I can tell ya, this will do the trick... Now, think ya can wear this in front of the rest of the school? I think that yes, there are things that gotta be saved for someone special but... He paused only for a moment, taking once more in how pretty she looked... I think, ya do deserve to be seen like this, like a very beautiful, and sure of herself woman, one that knows it's beauty and isn't afraid of showin' it, without fallin' into the obscene Leo stated, trying to assure Abi this was the dress, if she felt beautiful in it, why not let the world see her like this? It had taken more courage than Abigail’d thought she’d have to leave her room that night in her new dress. It was the most beautiful color she’d ever seen by far, an incredible rich, dark green. The bottom swirled around her, the heavy fabric held in its place by the small sash of green around her narrow waist. The top – oh goodness the top – Abigail swore it swelled out with each breath she took. She’d never felt quite so exposed before, but – looking in the mirror, it was almost like seeing a stranger, some beautiful girl she’d never have thought she’d really be. The cross resting just at the top of her chest was a comfort, and Abigail gripped it tightly in her hair. She wore almost no make-up still, just mascara darkening her eyelashes, and her hair was curled and pinned up, just a few tight curls dangling down over her neck. She took one last deep breath. There was no turning back now; it’d be disrespectful to Leo’s gift not to go, no matter how nervous it made her. Baking for the party had been fun; truth be told she’d loved doing it, making all sorts of pie. Pecan was her specialty, along with a few pumpkin, but she’d been more than happy to make chocolate as well, three of them, along with some peach custard. There was a maple walnut as well, and a few more, trying to stretch out what fruit she had been able to muster up. All in all she’d made about a dozen pies, and brought them to the dance hall a few hours before during set up. She hoped it’d be enough, but she just didn’t quite have the space for any more. With a deep breath, Abigail made her way, slowly, into the dance hall. She slid her coat off, leaving it at the check, and tentatively stepped onto the floor, shoes clicking softly against it. It was warm enough that even with her shoulders nearly bare she didn’t feel the chill, and she looked around, slowly, hoping rather desperately for some familiar faces. |

Santa Bob: Christmas comes once a year? Since when?
|
Oh those years ago, on a snowy night not long from now... How it brought back memories. The daring quest to venture back into the public eye after his ego had been handed (repeatedly) upon silver platter. The fateful moment when a young man, drunk, held him close and gave Callum his first french kiss. It was a memory in hindsight that now brought laughter, an ease of self that in those dark times he never had. In such a way the end of this year was as Charles Dickens once penned, the best of times and the worst of times. A year of laughter, of life, of making friends and having his first real relationship. A year of a breakdown from the beyond, where he lost his love in fairness and nearly lost his life to a monster. A year where Limbus had once again threatened the world, another year where he was too cowardly to do something about it. Yet how could one without fear be a coward? That was a question that Callum was currently asking himself... and his duck. "Oh boo hoo you won't get to go! You've yet to convince me the point of going. Yes I know I can't actually be afraid of it... Technically it isn't a good way to meet someone. Let's review whom I met last dance eh? Keifer's tongue, my mouth?" Despite objections Callum was currently sitting on his bathroom floor in that infamous navy blue bathrobe. His shoulder length hair had been neatly trimmed and styled to a point he certainly did not bother with for day to day activities. The only reason he was sitting was to consider the view of potential shirts and ties to go with a suit from Peking's perspective. After all, one cannot expect their duck to be capable of describing why it thinks that color would suit you. Right now the mage was bouncing between his options. "Could go all December themed with a red shirt and white tie. Well yes I'm wearing the black suit! My only other choice is the gray one, and that... just doesn't look proper in the snow. Blue shirt and gold tie are good stand byes for regular formal events, but not something winter themed. Valid point, a silver tie with the blue shirt and the gray suit could work. Still feels off though. Maroon and gold? Oh Peking... that's why I let you have a space in my head." Clothing was at last picked out, and Callum took the time to start dressing himself properly by making sure there were no wrinkles in his clothes. In this moment the duck let off another question in his head, which again caused a pause. "No. No I would prefer it if her and whitehead were not there. Make this easier. Well I'm not leaving if they show up... I just don't feel it wise to interact with people I could get angry toward. One snappy comment from him and boom! Mirror World all over again. We can't have that." The things he had done while trying to save DJ's soul would have brought chills to almost any student on the campus. Even his allies were disgusted, as was Callum himself. No one could argue the morality of it... the Glass Queen had forced him to kill the only family he'd ever cared for. It was not the murder, but the enjoyment of it... the rash swing into something he'd long left to die in the desert. In true Callum fashion, his mind refused to deal with the ramifications of what happened in that world until the teacher asking them to sign up for the Limbus mission asked each person to assess a weakness within themselves. My weakness? Feeling no fear enabled me to become a monster in mirror world. That sort of problem does not fit well with trying to work with a group. Especially the good guys. No, better alone in this... I can't truly assess how bad a weakness I could have, but I'm damn sure I don't want to blow anymore heads off. Just thinking about it had been enough of a distraction to where the mage was fully dressed in a silk collared maroon shirt and plain gold tie. The suit jacket and pants were black; perfectly creased along the pant lines and cuffs. Two small rosy gold circular cuff links were used to bind the shirt together while nicely linking between the colors of maroon and gold. It was not an element commonly recognized, but Callum currently had most of a soccer ball sized chunk of orchalcum rock sitting on his desk. Beneath it read a note: I was the gift of a dragon. Is it wise to steal from dragons? So far no one had ever robbed his dorm. It was... too weird to be considered for pranks. Most people were also genuinely afraid of crossing a mage on his own turf, especially now that stories of his 'freak out' within Mirror World had surfaced. If anything the note and the chunk of ultra rare metal were there to remind him of his last adventure with Alice... before Caleb came back. "Yeah I know it's still a void Peking. Always going to feel some emptiness... Fine. I promise to at least give new relationships a chance tonight. But as I said before, it's a dance. Most people show up with a partner." He had to give the school credit where it was do, they had really gone all out tonight. All the food and drinks looked divine, the atmosphere from the decor felt welcoming and upbeat, and most of all new uniforms were introduced. The fact that those whom were prepared could now teach more students caught Callum's attention, as did the concept of a snack pocket. Part of him snickered about the concept that calling the snack pocket a feature was akin to calling radio antennas on cars luxury options. Compared to the other benefits it held the least amount of wow factor, but everyone wanted a radio antenna for their car. Just like now everyone would want free snacks forever. As not many people had arrived yet, The Maestro found himself at the pie table, staring toward the Pecan pie as though it were some sort of temptress. No, there was no concern about whether it would add to his waist size. If anything Callum found himself tempted to flirt with the thing. After taking a bite from the large piece he took, Callum knew exactly what to say. "New relationship, found it. Pecan pie spells mission accomplished in my book." If they could of, the Maestro's eyes would dilate at each bite in order to describe the euphoria found. The lighting moderately prevented that, but for now the mage was more than content to simply stand near that pie table down this slice of pie, bite by bite. |

I'm a time-traveler! I travel forward at the miraculous rate of 60 seconds per minute
|
Abigail had come too early, she thought. She ought to have delayed earlier; she barely knew anyone here and the place seemed dreadfully empty. She knew with these sorts of social things the same rules didn’t apply about being early, not outside of the South, but she’d never dreamed that so many folks would’ve waited until some time after the dance started to come. She recognized one boy – Chris, she’d met him her first day there – but she didn’t quite know him well enough to say hi, especially not in a dress like this. She found herself over by the food; she was too nervous to eat, of course, but she liked watching people take pieces of the pie. She tried not to make it too clear that she was watching, but there was nothing quite like the look on somebody’s face when they had a bite of good food; it warmed her inside like a glass of hot cider. Still, most folks were here with somebody. A date, or – or some such. Not Abigail, of course. Not that she hadn’t gone to dances with boys before; she had, surely, at home, on proper dates with a dance and dinner beforehand. She’d enjoyed herself too; she’d never much enjoyed the school dances with the awful, lewd music, but there were Church dances that were much more what she enjoyed, and none of those – those terrible short dresses. Abigail sincerely hoped those girls understood the sort of things that went through boys’ heads when they saw girls dressed like that. She glanced down at the expanse of chest the dress left bare and blushed, adjusting her cross just a little. Oh dear. Was she really any better? She took a deep breath, feeling her chest swell beneath her hand, and looked back up at the table. She wasn’t doing herself any favors standing there being nervous, was she? She could always meet someone new. The boy at the table made her smile. The look of joy as his face as he dug into a huge piece of pecan pie practically made Abigail blush. She took a deep breath, and stepped forward, coming within just a few feet of him. “Sorry to interrupt,” she murmured, softly but politely. “I just wanted to ask – you seemed like you were enjoying the pie,” she reached up to tuck a strand of hair away and remembered – it was pinned up. She blushed and brought her hand back down, holding them both in front of her. “That one had a bit of extra vanilla, and I’d love to hear how you think it turned out,” she smiled up at him, peering up through her lashes at the boy. Goodness, he was tall. |

When he fully realized the consequences of his words and actions, Leo had already paid Abi's dress... It meant without doubt that if she saw him with anything less formal than a tux or a suit, he'd be dead man... And he suspected that his old tux wouldn't do, he needed something new too. And he knew he wouldn't be the only guy in dire need of a suit, James most likely had outgrown his suit if he had one... Leo didn't quite recall ever seeing his friend up for something so formal to require a suit. Jacey too would most likely want a new dress for the event, and Calvin would need a suit... It seemed that his little trip to the stores would have to continue. Things went smoothly... Well, smoothly enough really, it's not easy to find someone that can make big suits that don't rip easily, not when your friend is as big as a human can get... and bigger when transformed. Nonetheless they had found what they needed, and now... Now Leo was having a crisis in front of a mirror... He knew how Abi would look tonight, and she'd look awesome for sure, he didn't want to let her down, he too had to look his best. The suit was simple honestly, black suit jacket over a red vest, white shirt with the first couple of buttons open and since his amulet couldn't be taken off, he had decided against the tie. Black suit pants, his boots were polished to shine, and unusual for him, he was wearing a watch. Unusual too was that he went someplace disarmed, more so with all the things that through the year had happened, doubled so by the incident with the Walmart, which seemed to prove that even in a store he needed some kind of self-defense. But the staff swore it'd be unnecessary, and thus Leo trusted them... If only a tad reluctantly, leaving his gun in one of his drawers, locked of course. With a sigh, he finally decided to go out, walking slowly down and out of the room... To see the party staring. Looked nice, and looked like they had already presented the new year uniform... And looked like Abi had already set her sweets for the world to taste... But to all this, where was Abi? Leo scanned the crowd gathered there, spotting Abi as she was looking around... And didn't she look wonderful in that dress? She seemed a tad intimidated, but it was only natural, it was the first time she dressed so differently. Leo smirked, walking over to her and waving lightly, whiffing the air as he approached. Smells like your pies were a success as always miss, and ya look radiant. He said, smiling lightly, his tiger tail swishing behind him... The appendage was something he had gotten so used to by now that he just kept it out, tucking it inside his pants was quite hard honestly, he didn't want to do that ever again... Sure he was earning his fair share of stares because of it, but by now enough students knew that even if he didn't fight back, messing with Leo wasn't typically a good idea. He did notice the other guy, and his expression of sheer delight of one of Abi's pies. He couldn't prevent to smirk, waving lightly to the guy Howdy? A friend of Abi, or victim of her amazing cookin' skills? Leo said, wondering if the guy knew Abi already, or if he just happened to be having a bite when Abi decided to talk to him. Emerging into the back with two magically enchanted head pieces in hand, Dom was raring to go. If he had to say he was really loving his costume too! Aside from a knit blue scarf that had stripes of a lighter blue, Dom was shirtless. A top his head was a boater hat with a white polka-dotted blue piece of fabric wrapped around it. To go with the theme of snow and blue, Dom wore a pair of blue gloves and blue short shorts. To complete his costume was a pair of blue elf like shoes and a blue cane with a snowflake at the top. It was almost show time and a lot of work had been put into the performance. Now it was time to display the hard work. The band was ready, and the MINIONs were all prepped and ready for back up. The pole was looking quite nice as well. Everything had really come together! "Alright Mal, it's show time. Here's your mic", he said passing it to his partner. Looking at it, Mal would notice it's design was very similar to a pleased except for the fact a thin piece extended from it which had a small mic attached for him to talk into. It was the exact same as the one Dom had in his other hand save for the fact that the main body of the device looked different. Dom's took the form of a blue snowflake, and Mal's was a red flame. Placing the device in his ear, Dom motioned for everyone to get into position. With Dom's cue the curtain would open revealing him center stage, head down and brim of his hat tilted with the cane in hand. Mal was behind him at the ready on the pole, and to either of them were the MINIONS in their first costume: made to look like snow miser's minions. After a brief pause, the trumpets would rise and the band would begin playing the jolly show tune. Lifting his head with a big grin on his face, "I'm Mister White Christmas, I'm Mister. Snow." Working his way closer to the audience, Dom strut with all his stuff. "I'm mister icicle, I'm mister ten below", he sung with a confident wink to all the cute fellas and ladies in the audience. "Friends call me Snow Miser, whatever I touch..." Swing his cane round, Dom tapped it on the stage; his cryokinetic energy flowing through it. Right under his feet a small platform of ice and snow formed. "Turns to snow in my clutch. I'm too much." Spinning on the platform, Dom make a complete 360 before going into a little routine on it. Tap dancing on his icy platform, the MINIONS would come from the left and the right dancing, as well as singing the chorus Dom himself had just sung. Hopping off the platform, Dom tapped his way from one side of the stage to the other, joining in harmony with the singing MINIONS. "Friends's call me Snow Miser, whatever I touch. Turns to snow in my clutch, I'm too much!" Strutting back over to the opposite end of the stage, he led a single file line of MINIONS. "I never wanna know a day that's over forty degrees. I'd rather have it thirty, twenty, ten, five and let it FREEEEEZE!" Emphasis on his "freeze", Dom broke out in yet another spin. This one longer then the last, the minions dancing around him. Dancing in unison with the MINIONS, "I'm mister white christmas, I'm mister snow. I'm mister icicle, I'm mister ten below. Friends call me snow miser, whatever I touch. Turns to snow in my clutch. I'm too much." Singing again in unison with the MINIONS, "Toooo much!" Breaking into some form of jazz hands, Dom held his spot as the music stopped playing. But the show was not over! Spinning over to the pole Mal had been dancing on the entire time, Dom and he switched places. It was Mal's turn to sing and portray Heat Miser. The MINIONS themselves would soon change costumes as well, taking on the form heat miser minions. Edited by Glumzambur, Dec 16 2011, 05:32 PM.

“Say what you want about me, but I always tell the truth.”
|
Malakai took his ear-mic, and put it in, adjusting the mic a little away from his mouth for his act. He didn't voice it to Dom that he was nervous, but then again, he just assumed that Dom already knew that. But...there was no backing out now. Showtime.... Dom was out there, singing and hamming his heart out. And Mal took the back of the stage, on the pole stood there, strong and sturdy. Mal, wearing his own hat, gloves, shoes, and hot pants(only read instead of blue), with red streaks of temporary hair dye in his hair, stuck to the beat of the song, mainly cause his song was next and they held the same beat. Best to get used to it, right? Anyway, the magi started off 'easy', leaning against the pole and swinging his hips, slowly moving down, down, down, until he could get as low as he could go, before climbing back up the pole. Once standing, he turned and jumped onto the pole, swinging around it with a surprising amount of skill. Twirling and grinding and gyrating, Mal pulled out all the stops he knew. Dom might have been putting up a show in the front, but he was definitely putting on a show in the back. When the end of Dom's part was coming, Mal jumped and turned vertically, his legs wrapping around the pole as he hung upside down, hips gyrating as his hands caressed the pole. Oh, yeah, his turn was up, and he was still going to pull out the stops. Dom came to him, and Mal used him to dismount. Mainly because he didn't want to fall on his head trying to get down, but he was going to use Dom to make this show hot, not cool. "I made it warm for you," he said, before his mic turned on and his music was cued. Mal strutted forward, a swing to his hips as his hot pants seemed to mold to his body, showing off everything nicely. "I'm Mister Green Christmas." Mal raised his right hand, already focusing on his magic. "I'm Mister Sun." He then raised his left hand. "I'm Mister Heat Blister." His hand went down to the hem of his hot pants, playing along the edge of them and scooting them down ever so slightly. "I'm Mister One Hundred and One." He winked at Jack as he pelvic thrusted once into the air, his hands letting go of his hot pants and running up his lean chest. "They call me Heat Miser. Whatever I touch." Mal pulled his hat off his head, holding it up in the air. "Starts to melt in my clutch." The male tossed his hat back onto his head as a flame appeared in his hand, then two, then three, dancing around above his palm. "I'm too much!" He then proceeded to dance around the stage as the MINIONs sang, making suggestive gestures as he kept to the beat. Oh, yeah, he made this a competition. Sure, he wasn't tap dancing, but he knew how strippers could work. He just wasn't stripping. "They call me Heat Miser. Whatever I touch, starts to melt in my clutch." "He's too much." "Thank you!" Malakai now mirrored Dom's movement, moving to the opposite side of the stage in a mirror movement, his 'MINIONs' lining up behind him now. "I never want to know a day that's under sixty degrees. I'd rather have it eighty, ninety, one hundred degrees!" On his degrees, Malakai went to his knees and did 'body wave', his hips going forward first as his body slowly followed, with another wink, though this one went to the crowd, not just Jack. Now it was time for his finale. Fine, he would pull out all the stops. His flames disappeared, and he strutted to center stage as the MINIONs sang. Then came his line as flames started to lick around his lips from inside his mouth, his hat in his hand. "Whatever I touch, starts to melt in my clutch." Malakai threw his hat into air, and at 'clutch' spat out a fireball that hit the hat, setting it ablaze before a MINION came over and stamped it out while it was on the ground. He then did a small spin and made finger guns at the crowd. "I'm too much!" Then a wink, and he finished with the MINIONs. "Toooo much!" |

Chloe had slipped into the dance during the speech about new fourth year uniforms. She only caught the tail end of it, not that it mattered since she had yet to earn her third year uniform. The traditional Japanese design was lovely anyway - infinitely better than the Robin Hood tights that she could expect to receive sometime soon. She had come without a date for the evening. She hadn't expected to, really, not that she would have minded being asked by someone. It would have been nice, actually, and Chloe had even considered asking a certain person herself, but...well, here she was. In keeping with the winter theme of the event, Chloe had picked out a blue dress accompanied by her coat of holding and a set of white heels fit for dancing. The coat wasn't really necessary, considering how toasty the venue was kept, but she had another reason for bringing it along. "H'oh boy..." Just as she'd thought - the buffet table was covered in enough sugar to make her stomach hurt just from looking at it. Dear god, was there no end to the frosting? And...oh dear...cheesecake: everything that she could no longer tolerate wrapped in one neat package. The bane of her culinary existence. Hanging her coat over her arm and reaching into the pocket, Chloe retrieved a couple carrot sticks and nibbled on them. She contentedly allowed the utterly healthy taste to remove all imagined sensations of dessert from her mind. The buffet table would not defeat her resolve this night. Chloe caught sight of a figure further down the table who seemed just familiar enough to catch her curiosity. Upon further inspection, it proved to be the unbelievably tidy and dressed form of...Callum. But...no, it's couldn't be him...could it? Oh wow, it was! His hair was washed! And combed! And he was wearing clothes! Chloe could not stop herself from staring in shock. She would have very much liked to go over, say hello, and express just how flabbergasted she was that he had forsaken his bathrobe for the evening, but another girl approached him before she could. Chloe didn't want to interrupt, so she just waved and smiled in greeting when his eyes passed in her general direction. It was probably for the best that there was an immediate buffer, or she would have likely started poking fun at the poor mage. Well, she had no one to talk to quite yet, but a little entertainment seemed to be on the itinerary. A familiar show tune turned Chloe's head toward the stage, and an incredulous laugh escaped her when she saw - who else? - Dom donned in what was definitely inappropriate winter attire. Chloe covered her mouth with her hand, unable to stop laughter from bubbling up as he worked his skit for the audience. Oh Dom...she had to admit that Snow Miser suited him perfectly. It was the act that followed that chased away her laughter. Was that...Malakai? On a pole? He wasn't really going to...oh. Oh boy. Oh geez. He was. What had Dom done to him? Unable to watch the second half of the...entertainment for long without a furious blush lighting her face and spots bright red, Chloe nervously scanned the room for the teachers chaperoning the event. She felt a vicarious sense of embarrassment and impending doom at the, uh, excessive performance. Clutching her coat to her waist, she casually shuffled back toward a more crowded part of the buffet line, trying her best to blend in with the baked goods around her. The spotted girl had a very strong feeling that hell was about to be raised by the adults present. Edited by Cheshirewocky, Dec 16 2011, 07:37 PM.

When he heard there was a dance at the school for Christmas he didn’t want to go, but of course Abigail was going and told him he should go, which meant he was going. But he didn’t have anything to wear to said dance besides his uniform, and he didn’t want to go shopping for something so, he went for the uniform. The day of the dance he took a nice long shower, making sure he was completely clean and not a bit of grime was anywhere to be seen. Out of the shower he went about fixing his hair to make it look nice or at least the best he could. He then pulled on his school uniform and sprayed some nice smelling stuff on himself. At least that was what he thought he should do to go to a dance, which was going to end badly. Sure he knew how to dance but he didn’t have anyone to dance with. His nerves were starting to get to him before he even left his room; he just knew how badly this was going to be. He was going to be in close quarters with people he didn’t like and magi that he was sure were out to kill him. Justin swallowed before taking a drink of water and walking out the door. He walked slowly to the dance playing with the edges of his sleeves, he was so unsure of going to this thing. He should be in the bushido chambers training not at this dance, but Abigail had suggested so he had to go. He had no choice. That was what he kept telling himself as he walked into the crowd as two male students danced in provocative clothing to a song he heard growing up. He was sure Abigail was in there somewhere ready to faint if she was watching this smut. He sighed before taking a deep breath. And that was when he saw her over by the pie table talking to a couple of people in such a beautiful dress. He couldn’t help but stand there simply staring, he felt so strange staring at her but he just couldn’t look away. She was just so beautiful in that dress. He bit his lip before trying to force himself to move forward, he couldn’t just stand there staring, he had to move forward and talk to her. |

Biting on his fingers just outside the entrance to the auditorium, Colton was extremely nervous. He had been having a great week thanks in part to all of the cool winter games going on around campus. And while a dance would seem like icing on the cake, for him it was the opposite. He was dreading it, uncontrollably fearing it. One, he didn't know how to dance. He was too clumsy and in all honesty he'd probably step on a poor girl's foot and hurt her with his strength. Two, everyone would look so pretty and nice while he looked like the troll from under the bridge. Sighing, he knew he couldn't turn back. T'matha had invited him and Colton had promised he would go. Thinking on it now thought he was wondering why he exactly promised to to begin with. Head lowered, he accepted the facts and walked in. And as he expected everything inside was immaculate and nice. Everyone looked nice. And yet looking down at himself, he could not feel that way about himself. Dressed in a simple black shirt with a silver tie, black dress pants, and dress shoes, Colton really didn't look as bad as he felt. He needed to find T'matha, a form of comfort he believed. However walking in his eyes had been enraptured first by the performance. That was well um...interesting to say the least. He didn't exactly get it, but whatever floated people's boats he believed. Trying to worm his way around the crowded room, Colton suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. His eyes had locked onto someone, someone he knew. It was Miss Abi, and she looked extremely radiant. She looked like the belle of the ball! Colton should have said hello, but he didn't. He couldn't will his hulking body forward to do it. Miss Abi was just too pretty to talk too, someone in a completely different league then him. Feeling anxious, Colton darted as fast he could for some corner of the room. However given how long he had been standing with his jaw dropped, Miss Abi may or may not have seen him. Up against a wall, Colton let his head fall against it; embarrassment all over his face. Thankfully in the distance, he saw T'matha. Giving a wave, Colton let his body slide down the wall and onto the floor where he would sit. This...was probably a bad idea... |

It was the kind of dress that was meant to turn heads. It was a gold sparkling number with a bateau neckline and open cowl back. In other words the back was out. The three-quarter bishop sleeves were a nice addition but the mini-length of the bottom hem left her tugging at it ever-so-often. On a normal working night Tasha wouldn’t have minded it so much but this was supposed to be a school celebration. She began to feel a bit self-conscious standing amongst the crowd. Like she was giving away a secret. Yes, Natasha Memoire, you’re a girl! The Manolo Blahnik shoes were breathtaking but not too comfortable. They weren’t her boots. In fact, nothing she was wearing was her own except maybe her underwear and there wasn’t much of that to speak of anyway. The entire ensemble belonged to the girl standing next to her. The one that had insisted on dressing her, doing her make-up and putting her hair up in a chignon. The same one she shared her face with. Cicely seemed to be more interested in the events on stage than the people around her and with good reason. They were unveiling the Fourth Year uniforms and she was extremely eager to see what these looked like. Thus far the uniforms had all had a fantasy-like theme to them and she began to wonder if this one would be more professional. As it were, the uniform wasn’t as professional as it was traditional. It was a nice change but she wasn’t going to change out of her dress to wear that around. Not tonight. Unlike her sister, whom she had dressed personally, Cici was much more subdued in her little black dress. An attempt at the understated had earned her a look that made her appear a few years older. Just a bit of black satin with a scoop neckline, crisscross panel accent cap sleeves and a rhinestone adorned knotted belt. The skirt came to her knees and the only other thing notable about any of this was that she and Natasha were wearing the same shoes. Different colors of course. The look on her face seemed to match the gloomy color. “Not what you were expecting?” It was hard for Cicely to explain to Natasha what being here meant so she kept her mouth shut. The last time she attended a dance it had been with a certain ex-con that was no longer breathing. She was moving past that though there was also the lingering sting of a recently ended relationship hanging in her mind. One baby step at a time. So she just smiled in her own sad little way and shook her head. “ Just different…” she looked around the room before focusing on the refreshment table. “Want to go grab a snack?” “Sure thing ju-“ The music started then. Natasha grabbed Cicely’s arm, pulled the other girl back and pointed at the stage. “Is that Dom!?” “Afraid so..,” she admitted. It was Dom alright. In all his manly, scantly-clad glory. "Remind me again why you didn't jump on that?" "..." “YEAH! Looking good boys!” “Don’t encourage them…” Because really, they didn’t need it. Edited by Defiant, Dec 16 2011, 08:20 PM.

T'matha frowned at the dance he was watching. He had come in at the middle of it, and it was...was it a courtship dance? Were the two males competing for a mate? Or perhaps searching for one? Oh, there was Colton! The reptilian waved, but apparently Colton was confused by the dance. And then staring at Abi. Well, that was odd. Wasn't Colton already courting Abi? Perhaps that stuffed animal was merely an attempt at courtship. That would explain why Colton was standing there like a bunny in T'matha's sights right now. Oh, there, Colton noticed him. Good! T'matha made his way over to the slumped over male. Oh...this didn't look good. "Are you thad again? Did...did you not want to come? I'm thorry." And here T'matha thought it would've been fun, hence asking Colton to come. Well, drat. |

The first student-run act was one with Dom and Malakai, doing...some sort of pole dance? With music based off of some holiday special song from some holiday special TV show. Chris watched, and much like the others, stopped and wondered how this got to be. Maybe it was something about Dom that he could convince others to join him in the zaniest of schemes...After all, he DID manage to get Jack into a skirt...once per week. Chris eventually snapped out of his dumbfounded trance, and looked towards the crowd that had gathered towards the pies. Chris decided to join in, grabbing a slice of cheesecake on the way there, one that was pretty much the cheesecake equivalent to a blank canvas. No fruit topping, no chocolate, nothing but cheesecake and graham cracker base. Chris caught up with the group, but didn't do much to spark conversation, since he was too busy enjoying the cheesecake. |

When Mal said show Jack wasn’t quite expecting what he saw, not to say that he wasn’t enjoying it. Oh no he was loving it. Jack bit his lip as he watched Dom dance around the stage, the guy wasn’t wearing a shirt, gloves, blue shorts, and a hat. He couldn’t help but remember how cute Dom was, especially dancing on that stage, if Jack wasn’t with Mal he would so go for that nice piece of ass. Speaking of his boyfriend Jack couldn’t help but simply stare at him as he danced on the pole; Mal was wearing his own hat, gloves, shoes and a pair of hot pants, only his were all red. Soon Jack stopped watching Dom and his focus was completely on his fire magi, Jack licked his lips as Mal worked the pole. He couldn’t help but wonder when he learned to do that and why he hadn’t shown him it long before now, hell he had only seen moves like that at a strip club in California and that had been full of chicks. Jack had a large smile on his face as the guys switched and Mal took front and began to dance all around the stage before pelvic thrusting the stage and winked at him. Jack chuckled a little before winking right back to him. The show continued through and Jack was helpless to watch his boyfriend dance around the stage strutting himself. Jack wanted so much to run his hands all over his fire magi’s body. Screw the dance, he wanted a private showing. |

Who said we suffer insanity? We enjoy every minute of it.

Before Leo had the chance to hear more about the guy and Abi, someone else came into his field of vision... This was perhaps the ultimate proof to a long series of suspicious events, the last link of the chain that pulled the rest, moving the engines in Leo's mind to confirm something he had been suspecting for a few months. Justin was coming towards them, and this? This couldn't be talked around Abi, nor around the stranger, and it was top priority that he talked with Justin about it... It was perhaps a life or death matter, not for Leo, but for Abi and Justin... More for Abi than Justin. Miss, sir, please excuse me, I'll be back in a minute... Leo said, apologizing and giving Callum and Abi space alone once more as he walked over to Justin, coming to stand in front of the other guy, blocking the way. Man, we gotta talk. Leo whispered, not wanting to be heard by anyone else, this was a delicate matter, one that Justin maybe wasn't even aware of! Before the kid could really answer, Leo was leading them away from Abi, towards a more quiet corner within the lobby of the dorms. Alright so... Justin, have ya ever been in love before? Leo asked in a low voice, not wanting to let gossip reach Abi's ears and unleash Abirmageddon... Who knew how she'd react to know a guy, more so someone like Justin, had a crush on her... But Leo didn't want to have her shying away, and see Justin's and Abi's friendship ruined because of that. Ugh, I don't think that'll do... Better question, do ya find Abi attractive? Attractive in every aspect, not just looks... And attractive enough to... date her? Leo asked, his tail swishing from side to side nervously... Why was he doing this if he didn't like Justin that much? Well, he might not like him a lot, but Abi's feelings were in game, and Leo didn't want to see Abi sad... That'd make Leila sad, and a sad Leila would mean a Leo trying to make her happy... and they already had an awkward enough relationship going to let that happen. |

"I'm not sad...I don't think." He wasn't exactly sure how to articulate his feelings. It was more then sadness what he was feeling. Though the worst part was that he didn't understand why he felt this way! He knew miss Abi to be a very nice and caring girl. So why he was suddenly embarrassed to even go talk to her just blew his mind. He felt as though he were in a fantasy, believing that someone like her could be so nice to him. And seeing her dressed so nicely and looking so stunning was like a wake up call to the fact she was out of his league. That despite her being a good person, he should know better then to talk to her because people like him didn't have friends. Though in thinking that...what did that make T'matha? He certainly considered the lizard man his friend. Though was that because he lumped him in the same group as him labeled: Freaks of The Week? Frowning a bit, Colton took a deep breath. He needed to relax. He was letting anxiety get the better of him and make him think crazy things. He needed to have fun, and do stuff that kids his age did which was have fun. Fun was certainly much better then a panic attack due to self criticism. "I'm glad to be here T'matha, I just want to have fun. " |

Before he could move forward to talk to Abigail and show that he had shown up Leo was right in front of him. “What do we have to talk about?” he asked kind of annoyed, just before he was lead away from the crowd to a nice quiet corner where he asked Justin the strangest question. Whether he had been in love, confused the young evo blinked a couple of times before he answered, “Not that it is any of your business, no I have not I am 16 spent over the last 2 years on the streets and brought up by a father that started hating pretty early on. I don’t think I have exactly had the time or opportunity to be in love.” Justin was really starting to get irritated by this point and especially with how secretive he was trying to be, “And why the hells are you talking so quiet, what do you have to say that is so secretive?” He huffed just as Leo started talking again and what he said caused Justin to stiffen and cough as his checks turned a bright pink. He wasn’t expecting this to come from Leo, after all the two of them weren’t exactly the best of friends, hell they kinda hated each other. But they did have a common friend, one that Justin cared about a lot, but did he want to…date….her….Justin licked his lips before looking over to Abigail and back to Leo as his face turned red. Justin fidgeted a little before clenching and unclenching his hands, he knew Leo well enough to know that he wouldn’t stop, which meant he had to say something but he didn’t even know the answer to that question. Sure he liked her and he thought she was cute and she was the nicest person he had met but he didn’t know anything about girls….”I don’t know what you are talking about, she is my friend,” he finally said with as much confidence as he could muster with his blush. |

Leo stared at Justin... Really now, did he think Leo didn't notice the furious blushing? Or the whole lot of things that had been happening? Sure he had had it rough in the streets, but that didn't stop him from falling in love... Problem was, Abi would most likely be looking for a certain kind of relationship, and Leo doubted that Justin was old enough to even be thinking about it... Heck, Leo was easily two years older... And just now he had began to think about it. He shook his head, meeting Justin's eyes with his own. Ya suck at lies, think I've not noticed all ya do? Let's begin with the kick in my guts to defend her... dude, ya stood up for a girl against a tiger. Then next time we meet ya are pretty submissive to what she says and wants, to the point of givin' me a chance... Then ya went down to hell for her, and allow me to remind ya the face ya wanted to punch because it failed to stop the kidnappin', and finally durin' thanksgivin' ya said she was your first and best friend... Calvin was my first and best friend too, guess what we are now? Yeah datin'. Leo said hurriedly and in a quiet voice, almost growling in frustration at Justin's attempt to fool Leo. He sighed, looking up to Justin once more. See, there's nothing wrong with that... Is just Abi is fragile, delicate, and holds certain values ya might not share... And sure, ya might hate my guts but just so ya know... I kinda like to see ya and her happy... Don't ya dare turn this on me, ya hear? just cause I wanna see her happy and... to some extent ya... doesn't mean I'm a softy or any sh#t like that. Leo said, blushing when he admitted that he wanted to see both Abi and Justin happy... he typically didn't like to recognize that, it was a side of his that wasn't supposed to be shown or known by others, but this called for it. Just... if ya will date her... please be gentle with how ya ask her for it. Leo said, sure that Justin would understand the delicate situation that he was in... Abi was in Leo's eyes pretty fragile, a broken heart wouldn't be something easy to fix really... |

Justin cringed a little when Leo called him out and then went above and beyond by bringing in all this proof of how he had to liked Abigail. Justin meet Leo’s eyes before swallowing, “Just because I am a gentleman doesn’t mean that I like her. She was the first person in so long to be nice to me and be my friend and even try and take care of me. Hell I am almost to a healthy weight for the first time in years thanks to her, I am actually gaining some muscle again,” Justin sighed as he blushed a little, Leo brought up how him and his boyfriend were first and best friends before they started dating, so he couldn’t claim Leo had no clue what he was talking about. “Abigail does mean a lot to mean, doesn’t mean I know what that means,” he added under his breath. A deep breath entered and left his lungs as he continued to listen to Leo, sure he could walk away and pretend this talk didn’t happen but Leo was doing this because he cared about Abigail, could he really ignore Leo at this point? Justin took another deep breath, and for that matter could he hate Leo if he cared so much about Abigail? Justin groaned before scratching the back of his head, “You aren’t being fair Leo,” he huffed, “I know she is fragile and delicate and her views are part of the reason she is so different, that’s kinda why I might begin to think I like her,” he paused, “I am not saying I like her!” Justin blushed a deep red and before he could speak up again Leo said all he wanted was to see him and Abigail happy. This confused Justin further, “I thought you hated me?” he said before blinking a couple of times before the shock wore off, “And well I want her to be happy too and I don’t think she wants a guy to date or anything and even if she did and she happened to like me I REALLY don’t think I am a good match…” Justin’s voice hushed even further, “And that is if I liked her and wanted to ask her out, not that I would know how or what to do with that sort of thing or…” Justin blinked a couple of times, “How do you be gentle about asking a girl out?” Justin asked before scratching the back of his head. To him the conversation just continued to get more and more awkward. |

The kid still tried to pretend he didn't like Abi, but honestly, every time he even mentioned the possibility he seemed to gain a deeper shade of red, nonetheless Leo chuckled a bit when Justin pointed out that Abi was pretty much the only person that had cared for him enough to get him on his proper weight... and starting to build muscle. Justin also said he wasn't being fair, going on that he knew Abi was fragile and her views different, and that were parts of why he began to think he liked her. A smirk crossed Leo's face when Justin said that, now he had got the kid to actually start thinking about it... It was easy to dodge such topics for a while, not so much when a guy cornered you and forced you to think about it. Justin went on about how he too wanted Abi to be happy, but how he thought he wasn't the right guy for her... It was to Leo the last proof really, he already was envisioning what could happen if he liked her and she didn't. Eh let's start 'bout the whole hate thing right? I hated the kick to my guts yeah, and kinda hated how ya reacted to me shifting around my shape and pretty much the whole magi antagonism ya have shown, but to say I hated you? Nah... I think ya are a nice fellow, if only slightly paranoid... But who am I to judge ya for that if I carry in fear of something goin' wrong? If ya ever wanna talk 'bout that I'm open for it, though I think ya'd do best to talk it with someone ya trust. Leo said with a smirk, glancing over his shoulder to see Abi once more... yeah that'd totally work, Abi wouldn't try anything with Leo because she didn't knew him, and she had mentioned she felt uneasy during the shopping trip because she didn't knew Leo, so if Justin talked with her about such intimate details, Leo felt that their relationship would improve. As for bein' gentle... It's kinda hard to explain... Ya know, ya come from a different culture, heck I come from a different culture than Abi... I grew up in Las Vegas, sin city, casinos, lights, magicians shows... All the things Abi would consider wrong are my home... Granted, used to spend some time at my uncle's ranch... Never really got rid of the accent, or other habits... I think she's of a more traditional culture, seems more like from a town than a city, whole different kind of life... And ya, grew up in a castle and by what ya said the streets too... Leo paused, chuckling lightly and shaking his head. Just look at us, what a trio... But I think, ya do have a chance with her... I dare say, ya are more of her style than anyone else we know... She also seems to like a lot your gentleman behavior, and I bet she's still deeply moved by how ya defended her from me, and how ya went down to Hell for her... I dunno 'bout her feelings, but, ya should give yourself a chance, cause ya know, ya never know when ya will find love again. Leo said with what looked to be a gentler smile, trying to give Justin some hope about it. Tell ya what, think 'bout it alright Justin? If ya end decidin' ya like her, tell me and I'll teach ya how to ask her out, and how to have a nice date and other such things... Might not look it, but this cat has been a mansion cat before. Leo said, his tail never stopping moving... He couldn't blame other felines for this... it sure was a nice way to keep the nerves in check. |

Found. You.

Okay, a school dance. Tris had never been to one at his old school, but he had heard stories. Mostly it was just a bunch of kids running around and screaming to music and such. It didn't seem like a sort of fun thing, which is probably why he didn't go to them in the past. But this was different. This was a bunch of teens and young adults, not a bunch of kids. He was expecting it to be different, but he also didn't know what to expect. So, Tris didn't really know what to wear at this sort of thing. He didn't really know which of his outfits would be considered fancy or not, but he did remember that the school uniform was always an appropriate outfit for any sort of school function, and this looked to be one as well. Well, it was better then nothing, even though he didn't like how the school uniform looked on him. It always seemed like it was too small. But, it was better then nothing, so once he was dressed for failure, Tris headed towards the dance. There looked to be quite the crowd there already, full of students from different years. At first, he didn't see anyone that he knew, but it wasn't like he knew a lot of people, so that was to be expected. He saw Leo talking with someone he didn't know, but the conversation looked important, so he didn't want to interrupt him. Well, the initial scan came up negative, so he just decided to mingle with the crowd. Maybe there was a punch table or something and he could get a soda or something. Stick around for a while and see if anyone wanted to do anything or say hi or whatnot. This was his first, and Tris had no idea what you were supposed to do at a dance. It would probably be a learning experience at least. Well, after about five minutes of just loitering about, Tris saw a familiar face and an unfamiliar one. It was much better then nothing, because the familiar face happened to be that of T'matha. What a surprise seeing the reptile man here. This must have been something that his culture understood, so it was a start. Working his way through the crowd, Tris made his way over to where T'matha and Colton were at. “Hey T'matha,” Tris said, “I didn't expect to see you here. I didn't know you liked things like this. What are you up to?” |

Santa Bob: Christmas comes once a year? Since when?
|
“Sorry to interrupt,” What temptress with a soft accent from America's bible belt would dare interrupt pie time? HEATHEN! Callum had half a mind to say exactly those words... but the current problem was that he had bitten off more than he could chew. Not through attending a socially awkward situation bound to at some point explode like a powder keg. No, literally, he was chewing on a bite laden with sweet toasted pecans, sugar, and vanilla. As with any good waitress Abigail had approached at the best time to ask her question. The pecans (and perhaps Peking) recommended mercy be shown; thus Callum gave a gesture with his fork as though encouraging her to ask. Oh! OH! Dear gods, did the goddess of sweet treats decide to attend this ball and speak with a grateful mortal? The young Brit's face grimaced as the throat opened up to swallow the bite. Again, another goodbye came to the pure bliss. "Excuse me for the drawn out chewing... but you must understand that what you've crafted borders divinity. The side of that border we're not on." Callum's own accent was distinctly London based, but easy to understand. With his mouth free of pie, the mind could focus just enough to take in the young lady before him. His eyes tracked down from her face to the dress, but did not remain fixated upon the chest area. No, he was staring at how it spread out in flow of emerald. "And frankly the vanilla is delightful. Mind you I've mostly lived here, India, and Britain... so a pecan pie connoisseur I am not. Still though anyone who claims there pecan pies are better would be hard pressed to prove it." It was this moment that two things happened. First, Leo called out to him. Callum smiled toward the new person on approach and offered a wave with his fork. "Victim? I'd say convert. There are some really amazing cooks on this campus-" And then he saw her. The lady whom bossed him straight into a bathroom and helped clean him up. They were in... someone's dorm (who cooked amazing things as well) and she essentially manhandled him into being somewhat decent. Short story, a Callum literally soaked in hooka smoke had been attempting to evade campus staff. While doing so he ran across that dorm and thought to stay for treats. Everyone acted all surprised just because he had been using his invisibility spell to get away. Chloe had not just cleaned him up, she forced him to talk about what was going on. Believed him when he promised that he was not dangerous... despite how much of a lie that really was. Her invitation to hang out more had only been ignored because of the teacher taking them to Machu. What is your weakness? Too many to even mention. I like ladies, food, distractions... and my duck. Also, this one little time I might have flipped out and killed the glass mirror that was my sister. For a night cap you might want to consider that whole 'unable to feel fear' blessing... Fact is, I'm not qualified to work with others in situations like that. She waved at him, which he responded to with a sheepish smile and a wave of his own. That was when the music started... and there was only one thing that Callum had no idea what to say about the show. He did not know either of the guys, but apparently they felt no fear either.
