It had been so long since he had touched his violin. He felt so uninspired to play. Often times, Sonata would try only to fail miserably. It just felt the same to him. Something had to change. He had to do something to make what he loved more exciting. Not to mention if his father ever found out that he hadn't been playing for so long, Sonata would probably be a dead man. Thinking on what to do, the boy eventually stumbled onto an idea he liked. Playing by the river. Something about the tranquility of nature, always put him at ease. Perhaps it would even help inspire him to create music! Determined in his plan, Sonata was quick to grab his violin and head toward the forest. After some time, he eventually found a little clearing near the flowing water. Resting his case on the side, Sonata grabbed his violin in one hand and the bow in his other. Retsing the wooden instrument in his arm, Sonata put the bow to the string delicately. Listening to the wind blow gently and the river flow smoothly, Sonata took a breath in. Eyes closed and a smile on his face, he let his emotions guide his hands. Before long notes were being formed and slowly being pieced together into a flowing melody of music. He had once again found his muse! To bad there wasn't anyone else to enjoy it... |

Silver was restless, and sick of being indoors at this point of the day. She had been studying for an English exam all day and she couldn't take it anymore. Normally when Silver was restless she dragged Vahn to the chambers and worked out her frustrations there, but she wanted to be outside. Silver jumped up from her desk and stormed out of her room making sure to slam the door behind her. Silver hated English. Once outside she waited no time in shifting into her wolf form. The pain rolled through her muscles as her body changed. Silver shook her head and looked to Shadow who was standing right next to her, ready for their run. The two of them took of running into the woods. The feel of the wind against her fur and the sound of her paws hitting the ground, calmed the wolf mage. Silver and Shadow ran through the woods all around campus, with a wolfish smile on her face. Silver began to feel like herself, no stress or anger, completely relaxed. Silver wondered all the way into the Namazu Channel in time to hear music replace the sound of her paws against the ground. Silver, feeling curious, made her way towards the sound. The beautiful music drew the mage towards a boy she hadn't meet before. Silver walked slowly towards the boy slowly with her tail wagging and a goofy look on her face. Silver sat down in front of him and tilted her head in a curious look. Shadow sat down right next to Silver and layed down. Silver wanted to introduce herself, but as she tried to talk a yip came out. Silver remember she was still a wolf. Silver calmed herself and let her body go back to taking her normal form. Once she was human, Silver stayed sitting with her tail wagging against the ground. Silver looked up at the boy and his instrument and said, "Hi!" |

Playing his violin, Sonata was in his own little word. In his head, the music playing began to form all kinds of images. He was at home with his family and they were all laughing. There wasn't any pressure toward magic or school. It was just a relaxing night over a board game. Those were the type of nights he wished his family had, however...they never did. Now that he was away from school...it was weird not even having them around. Wait! This was supposed to be tranquil, not depressing. Trying to keep his thoughts happy, Sonata's ears perked up a bit when he heard a foreign noise. It wasn't from his playing. It wasn't the air nor the water. Perhaps...an animal? But what animals were here. Opening his eyes, Sonata was greeted to the sight of a dog/wolf and it's smaller companion. Tilting his head, the boy's violet eyes could only widen when the larger of the two transformed into a girl. "Hi!" "Oh, OH, um...hello", Sonata stammered. This was truly a surprise. He hadn't expected to have run into anyone...let alone an animagus (yes...he was a harry potter geek and liked coining terms). Oh well. He just hoped his music playing didn't intrude on whatever it was they were doing. Or worse...that it was terrible. No..it couldn't have been terrible. He had hit that F sharp on the nose. Silver smiled at the boy and wondered if she had startled him coming out of the woods like she had. The way he stammered out a hello made her wonder more. "Did I startle, if so I apologize." Silver remembered her run in with Megan and how she had reacted to Silver's wolfness, Silver hoped she hadn't brought that out in this boy as well, she hated upsetting people. Silver tilted her head in confusing when he apologized for his music, "No, it did not, why would it?" Silver loved music but she did not recognized his device he used to create the sound. Silver stood up and looked at his instrument questionably before asking pointing at the violin, "What is this anyway? It makes strange yet beautiful sounds." Seeing his pack sister act proved to Shadow this was a good person, which meant he would be able to get attention from this new person. Shadow jumped to his feet and walked over to him with his tail vigorously wagging and his tongue lolling out and a puppyish look on his face. Shadow whinnied up at the boy begging for attention. |

"Did I startle, if so I apologize." Adjusting his glasses, Sonata was quick to shake his head no. He was surprised sure. However it was nothing to be startled for. If he was going to last at this school, he'd have to get used to the unnatural and the magical. Transforming from a wolf to a human, DEFINITELY fit one if not both of those categories. "What is this anyway? It makes strange yet beautiful sounds." "Oh this? Why it's my violin!" Sonata loved his violin. He had for as long as he could remember. Of course he couldn't play it for as long as he could remember. With a warm smile, he was about to play again when he saw that a little furry fella wanted attention. He even had that look of wanting to play! Putting his violin down next to a tree, Sonata got down on his knees and began scratching and rubbing the little guy all over. "I'm Sonata by the way, pleasure to make your acquaintance.", the boy said with his pearly whites to see. |

"Violin, interesting," The wolf mage said quietly to herself. She now knew the name but she was still curious as to how the sound came to be. The instruments of her tribe had all been things were you used your own air or things you struck. But this was nothing like what she had seen before. "How does this work, where do the sounds come from? Please tell me," Silver said. Silver noticed Shadow walk up to Sonata before he could start to play again, Silver frowned at the wolf. She had wanted to hear his beautiful sounds again and find out how it worked, but no one can ignore the cute look of Shadow. And he loved to steal all the attention around him. Shadow watched the human set his music thing on to the ground and come down to the ground where he was, and felt his hands rub and scratch all over. Shadow moved more into the boys hands, making sure to show how much he was enjoying the attention. And if the boy wanted to play Shadow would be in heaven and if the boy had food, he would never want to leave, unless his pack sister told him to. Shadow moved his head around and tried to lick him to show his happiness. Sighing the wolf mage rolled her eyes at the wolf and replied to Sonata, "Hi Sonata, My name is Gina but most people call me Silver, and it is a pleasure to meet you." |

"How does this work, where do the sounds come from? Please tell me." "Well, I simply..." Poor Silver. Sonata's attention kept getting stolen from her. He didn't mean to, it just sort of happened given the fact he was giving a cute animal attention. Sonata was clearly doing a good job since he was now getting licked all over. Surprisingly the boy was more ticklish than he though, as he started laughing with each passing lick. After awhile he slowed his scratching and rubbing down to a simple pat on the head, before returning his attention back to silver. "How about I just show you." Picking up his violin and his bow, Sonata once again rested the instrument in his arm. Placing the bow onto the strings and his fingertips on the upper part of the strings, Sonata began to play once again. His fingertips would move on occasion as his bow hand continued to stroke the strings, producing forth sounds of happiness and harmony. "Nothing to fancy really. I just simply bring this hand back and forth, while I pluck at the strings with the other." |

Shadow enjoyed the attention and returned it by licking him all over but was disappointed when he stopped with a simple pat on the had. But he knew he would get more before this meeting was over. With a smile the wolf laid down at his feet and decided to take a nap as the humans talked. Then he would become the center of attention once more. Silver smiled brightly as he picked up his instrument and began to show her how it worked. Silver closed her eyes for a moment as the music began before she began to watch his fingers and see how the instrument made beautiful sounds at his command. His fingers danced along the strings while his other hand held an other thing which was pulled across the strings. Silver enjoyed his playing, it really was beautiful, not quite like her village and nothing like the pop and rock music she had heard on the radio living with her foster family. This was different a whole new sound and the wolf mage liked it. "It is really beautiful, what is that thing," Silver pointed to the bow, "you do so much all at once, it must have taken you many seasons to learn to play it." |

"It is really beautiful, what is that thing," Sonata blinked. What thing? Letting his eyes follow her finger, he quickly realized what she was pointing to. She was pointing at the bow! Lightly smiling, Sonata stopped playing to lift the tool into the air. "This is the bow. Without it, I can't produce the sounds my violin makes", he answered before playing once again. "You do so much all at once, it must have taken you many seasons to learn to play it." "Yeah. My dad forced me to play it when I was young. At first I hated it, but in time I learned to love it." It wasn't long before Sonata finished the song he was playing. As good as he was, his arms were starting to get a bit tired. Laying his violin down once again, he sat at the edge of a large oaken tree. Most of the leaves had fallen off, but it made for a nice bedding beneath the boy's tush. Petting Shadow once again, Sonata turned to Silver. "So what are you doing out here on this fine afternoon?" Edited by Glumzambur, Nov 19 2010, 09:05 PM.

Silver listened to him play the music, it was calming and relaxing, his explanations helped shed some light on how it worked but sh was still a little curious about what sort of sounds it could make. Could it make higher pitched sounds or lower pitches than she had heard him play, how fast could it be played, all were things her curious mind wanted to know but Silver decided to let the boy rest after he finished his song. It had to be at least a little tiring. Silver followed Sonata's example and sat down near the tree, also petting Shadow. Which the wolf loved, he laid there in-between his pack sister and the new human, getting attention from both. It was nice and he laid there licking their palms when ever they came close to his face. Silver looked over towards him and said, "I was studying for an English exam but I got restless and left my dorm for a run through the woods. I love to be outside, indoors is too stuffy, I like it outside more." |

"I can understand that." Sonata had definitely learned to appreciate the outdoors. Not only was a change of pace to everyday life, but often it was tranquil. There was an ever lasting peace with nature. Rain, snow, or sun...it was all good. Sonata particularly enjoyed the night time though. Something about the stars and the moon, in the dark sky shining just appealed to him. "I never had many opportunities to be outside since I was always studying back home. Now that I'm here, I love it so much." On the outside, Sonata was smiling. But beyond the glasses and further beyond his eyes and skull, was a growing pain. Perhaps a headache? It was hard to tell. He just hoped it wasn't one of his "episodes" occurring again. Trying not to think anything of it, Sonata rubbed Shadow's back to keep himself preoccupied. Silver smiled she loved it when she found people who like to be outside as much as she did. And even of he didn't like as much as she did, he still loved it. Silver wondered what sort of things he liked to do outside, he obviously liked to practice outside. "What else to you like to do outside; go on walks or climb trees or swim?" Silver wanted to get to know Sonata and asked him, "Where are you from?" Silver started with a simple question to start out with. Sonata looked like he was in a good mood enjoying the outdoors. Silver looked to Shadow to see he was barely keeping himself awake. He was dozing off in the comfy leaves and the petting he was receiving. |

Looking at Shadow, Sonata could only smile as Shadow drifted off to a comfy sleep. The pain in Sonata's head however was still pestering him. To make matters worse it was hurting more. He just hoped he didn't do anything to give away the fact he was hurting. However, how long could smiles last? "Where are you from?" "Ugh...I'm actually a japanese native. Kyoto to be precise. Funny part is, I'm half english and half chinese haha." |

It was convenient to go to a school near where you lived, you could easily see your family. His heritage made Silver chuckle just a little bit, to be from somewhere and your family not was always strange, it was about the same for her, though she didn't know much about her family anymore. Her life had been turned upside down after a secret had been revealed to her. She understood why she had been lied to but she wished it had been different, now she had to learn about her father and her mother was still a secret. Silver sighed to herself. "Is Kyoto nice, is your family nice?" Silver was always curious especially with new people. |

"Is Kyoto nice, is your family nice?" Sonata could only chuckle. Could he really answer those questions so black and white? Sure Kyoto was nice, but being trapped in schooling from dusk till dawn made it impossible for him to really experience what the city had to offer. He never really got to experience the festivals or enjoy the hangouts with friends. Such a wonderful place, and he was imprisoned. As for his parents, sure they were nice. But they were his wardens. They kept him in that prison. His mother, god bless her, was far more lenient with things. However with his dad around, such leniency was easily over ruled. "Um...I'd say there nice", Sonata said with an awkward smile. "Where are you from? What about your family?" |

Silver smiled before she answered him. She wasn't exactly sure what to say to that, by her count she had three families and lived with two of them, though her father did want to take her to his home and try and convince her to stay do does that count too. Silver's family confused her, everything she had thought growing up ended up not being true, kind of. Silver sighed before saying, "It's complicated," Silver paused before deciding to just tell him everything, what could it hurt. "Well my father is my grandfather's assassin and I have no clue who my mother is, though he didn't raise me. I was raised in a village in Europe somewhere, really old fashioned to this place, I really liked it there growing up. I was a warrior and protected my people before most of them ended up dead and I ended up in a foster family in the suburbs, they were nice but didn't really understand me, I was only there for a couple of years before I came to the school." Silver wondered what he would think of her little rant. There was more she could have said but she wasn't sure how he would react to some of that. "So.....ya, more than a little complicated and I keep learning more things about my family everyday." With a smile Silver added, "What was your favorite thing about Kyoto?" |

Sonata could only tilt his head when Silver said things were complicated. A quizzical expression on his face, he wondered just how complicated things actually were. Surely not worse than his situation he hoped. However listening to the girl's words, it seemed hope was pointless. Her family situation was definitely complex. Little did he know, that like Silver, his life was just as complex. After all things come in due time, even the negative ones. "What was your favorite thing about Kyoto?" "Er.." Well now the ball was once again in his court. How does one explain they lived a sheltered life anyway? Slack jawed, Sonata adjusted his glasses and rubbed his chin. The thoughts were there. Forming them into words and expressing them verbally however were proving difficult. Eventually, he stammered out the best thoughts he could. "W..w..well, I don't really know. Besides school and home, I never really got to see. My father kind of sheltered me from the outside world. Crazy how he finally let me go though..." |

Silver didn't really understand what he meant by sheltered life but she did understand only being able to go to school and having to stay at home. Her two years with her foster family had been like that. It isn't that they were being mean or anything, she just wasn't ready for the real world and would have hurt herself, and she did or she hurt others. That was the reason they agreed to send her here, because at the time she couldn't handle the real world and sometimes she still couldn't. Silver felt bad for the boy, she only had to endure two years of that, he had to deal with it his whole life. Silver looked over towards him and said, "So that is what sheltered meant, I never really understood that word, I went through that for a little bit before coming here, something about the real world was too dangerous for me or something," Silver gave him a weak smile before she finished, "So, I know sheltered is bad, and I think you need to have some fun, what do you say, what to go have some fun and explore the town?" |

"So, I know sheltered is bad, and I think you need to have some fun, what do you say, what to go have some fun and explore the town?" Sonata's weak smile grew in delight. It was strong and genuine. For a brief instant the throbbing ache in his skull was subdued by delight and happiness. Not only did he make a new friend, but they were going to hang out. They were going to explore places he never really got to see! Kickass! "That..that would be really great. Let' do it!" Sonata was so excited he stood up in glee. Perhaps it was the rush of the momentum. Or perhaps it was something else. Whatever the case, as soon as Sonata went up...he stumbled and fumbled before ultimately falling backwards. Thankfully the tree was there for support, as his vested back met firmly with hard tree bark. "Woah...", Sonata said with a large exhale. It was so unexpected and it had caught him off guard. However it wasn't like he tripped over anything. That's what made the fall really weird. Cheeks flushed, Sonata probably had some explaining to do... |

Silver watched his smile brighten as she spoke. She was happy he was happy and maybe she would have a new friend after this, at least she hoped she would. And she was going to have some fun exploring the town with him. Silver began think of where they should go first when he stood up fast, Silver watched him fall backwards. Silver stood up quickly but was saw the tree stopped him from falling all the way to the ground. But she was worried that he hurt himself when he feel against the tree. Shadow jumped to his feet as well also worried if he was going to be ok. "Sonata are you ok, you fell, did you trip or something?" Silver said as she reached out to try and help him back to his feet. Silver wondered how he fell, she didn't see anything to make him fall, it was strange. Silver looked at him with a puzzled look, once he was back on his own feet, she said, "You are ok, right?" |

Well this was awkward. Not only had he nearly fallen, but now his head was a mess. His vision was still trying to refocus, and of course there was still the throbbing pain. Only after several blinks and a mental surge to suppress the pain, Sonata looked to silver. "Sonata are you ok, you fell, did you trip or something?" "Er...well..." "You are ok, right?" "Ugh. Yeah, I'm fine. Shall we head out?", Sonata asked. Recollecting his violin and bow, Sonata just smiled. This wasn't the first time this had happened. He doubt it'd be the last. He'd just have to power through and just ignore it. He just hoped it didn't get worse... |

Silver looked him over she wasn't sure if he was really ok or not, but he said he was ok, which was normally enough for her. But she wanted to make sure, she she decide to stall their journey out into the town. "How about we head how about we stop by your room and drop of your magnificent music maker. We can head out after that." Silver wondered what they could do in the city once she was sure he was ok. Silver thought it over and decided that they could get some food, explore the mall or just walk through to city and explore random store or something. She wasn't exactly sure what the city had to offer but she would make it fun for Sonata. Silver gave him a weary smile before saying, "No lets head to your room, what kind of thing would you like to do; go get something to eat, explore the stores or the parks?" Silver wondered what sort of things he would want to do. |

The last thing he wanted to do was to ruin his poor violin. It was his treasure. It was a part of him. it ever got damaged or went missing, Sonata just wouldn't be the same. And with his "episodes" (that's what he liked to call the incidents of spontaneous falling for no reason.) occurring once again, he could accidentally break it. "What kind of thing would you like to do; go get something to eat, explore the stores or the parks?" "Well food doesn't sound half bad, and perhaps checking out the stores could be interesting." At least if they were stopping at his dorm, he could get some aspirin. He needed to get rid of this headache, and hopefully suppress any future "episodes". Silver walked side-by-side with him towards the path that would take them to the dorms. Silver was excited to go into town with Sonata, she really didn't go into town often, since she was more to like the woods than the busy streets. She was sure she would have fun with Sonata and she would make sure he would have lots of fun. As they walked Silver asked, "What kind of food do you like, there is so much to chose from in town, every kind of food is there, and it is all so tasty." Food was one thing the wolf mage loved going to town for, they had so many types that the campus just didn't have. With the mention of food, Shadow's tail began wagging and his tongue lolling out, he knew he would get some tasty treats. |
