For those of you who don't wish to read the whole notice, here's the short of it: The new member Nightshade has been banned permanently from Shadowside. The list of offenses is rather long, so let's tackle the main ones. First is the lack of willingness to follow or abide by the rules. No one is above the rules, hence why we have them in place, and to be perfectly fair, the rules themselves are rather lenient. Of the things that were asked of Nightshade, the member showed issue with the littlest things, such as being unwilling to provide any sort of description for the appearance of Nightshade's profile. That's not a bannable offense, it was more the clout that was raised about it that was the issue. Taking the argument to the shoutbox, Open Discussion, and generally burdening the other members with it and refusing to stop even when warned was the issue. Another is despite being warned more than once, Nightshade continued to not only use the character's powers in a post, but mod other people's characters to the point of godmodding on numerous occasions often well outside the scope of the rules, and never once approaching players for even the slightest hint of permission, when told of the rules on the matter at every incident. The key thing here is Nightshade's clear indication, stated as much to various people, that the member had no intention of following the rules in any way, shape, or form, and rather tried to subvert them and generally be disrespectful to other members, be they just members, mods, or admins. This is not tolerated, much less not allowed. It's not hard, at all, to follow the rules set forth by Shadowside, we all do it on a regular basis. They aren't strict, at all, really. This sort of thing shouldn't happen. With that in mind, Nightshade was banned and removed from the board. Thank you for your time. |
