Calvin has a very strong build, is Caucasian, and somewhat tall, standing at about 6'1'', with his height divided fairly evenly between his chest and legs. He looks muscular, but far from "ripped" as the term goes, although he could probably get there if he put the time and effort into a steady exercise regimen. He has short, dark red hair, and seems to be incapable of growing any sort of facial hair aside from eyebrows. As such, he rarely has to comb it, instead just letting it fall wherever it wants. His eyes are a dark brown that always seem to have a look of dismiss and disinterest on them, which is emphasized by his glasses. However, if something does interest him, his eyes appear to get brighter. Like many other people with glasses, he seems to have the ability to make them get scary and shiny with or without a light source.
Calvin rarely smiles with teeth, as he's been told it looks creepy and on one occasion like he had just gotten away with planning something horrible, so a lip smile is as close as most people get to seeing him happy. As for his teeth, he brushes with whitening toothpaste, so they have a bit of a bright sheen to them. His skin might darken in the sunlight somewhat, but he never tans, and never seems to get sunburned either. Calvin also wears a size 13 shoe, usually open-heeled and earth-toned. He tends to avoid laces, as he considers shoe-tying a waste of time, and Velcro, since it comes undone too easily. Easy to slip on-and-off is his favorite type.
Calvin's taste in clothes can best be described as simple. If its comfortable, he wears it. He prefers lighter-colored shirts and for pants/shorts, he prefers blacks and grays. At the moment, though, he only has one outfit that he can wear, as gathering other clothes was not high on his list of things to worry about once things started going south. This outfit is a white t-shirt with a selection of tropical frogs on the front of it, and a pair of black pants with a single gray stripe down the seams on the side. He was also able to keep his red sweat-jacket/hoodie with a zipper, which he's had for years. It looks to be somewhat tattered, especially around the edges. But, its his favorite coat, and he'll likely end up wearing it until its nothing but tattered cloth.

Hydra Appearance:
Calvin as a hydra looks to be a sight out of a myth. His main body grows to about 12 feet in height and 20 feet in length. However, throwing in the length of his new head and neck brings that to about 34 feet in height, with a 19 foot long tail that sprouts as well. Calvin's hydra form stands on four legs, with his front arms being slightly longer then his back legs, making his chest puff out a bit. His skin in this form turns dark green, close to black, scales, and he has no more hair. His previous muscular appearance is even more pronounced in this form. He still has five fingers and toes in this form, except they get a bit more clawed then fingernailed.
His head in this form goes through the most drastic changes. It grows to about twice of the size in his human form. His mouth, nose, and jaw extend into a wide snout that could, if he stretched enough, probably swallow an average adult-sized person whole. His eyes turn a deviled red, yet still manage to keep the same disinterested and dismissive look in them. His ears turn into somewhat fleshy fans on the side of his head, yet are still capable of working. His neck gives extended movement, making him capable of seeing behind and under him. The most pronounced change in his appearance, however, is the fact that he grows multiple heads, nearly identical to the first one, that sprout off of him. They as well have near-freedom of mobility.
Current head location is that his fourth is on the very right end, followed by his second, then his third, and his first head is on the left.
Hybrid appearance:
Let's start by stating a few facts, first and foremost in this hybrid form, Calvin is covered in scales, his eyes are, as well as the rest of his head, reptilian in nature. His head is adorned with a pair of straight horns that sprout nearby the orifices of his ears and go straight back, past the end of his head for a few inches.
Now onto the details, Calvin's head could be compared to that of a generic tyrannosaurus mixed with a dragon reduced in scale to fit his body proportions, his eyes are a deep red hue and the pupil is a slit, his tongue is split in two close to the end and is able to catch scents, this in substitution to the olfactory cells lost in his nose.
Now, a major difference in Calvin is his build, while his human form is definitely well build, his hybrid form can only be described as beefy, with muscles bulging and marking even through the scaly skin. He also has a tail, a rather strong one at it, and is agile too. This compensates for the lack of the multiple heads his Hydra form provides him, with the freedom of movement that his heads normally have.
His feet and hands are similar to that of a human, however they have claws too, and the feet are bent close to a half, providing a better support for Calvin's muscular frame. He also maintains his wings in this form, albeit in a smaller scale to his hydra form.
Personality
pre-death Calvin is rather friendly, but also introverted, especially around girls. As such, he will rarely make the first move to get to know somebody. However, to his friends and such, he's as nice as he can be. His thinking is that its better to have a few close friends that you can count on then to have an entire circle of people who say that they are friends that you don't know if you can trust. Any disagreements he has with others he can usually find an easy way to solve that ends up with both parties happy. Calvin isn't the sporty-type, although he does try to stay in good shape. He enjoys books and video games, and can read the same book or play the same video game more then once, even though he knows how it will turn out, because he enjoys the experience of doing so.
Calvin also likes to keep things organized and neat, almost to a level of obsessive-compulsion. He does enjoy new things, and will try anything once. Part of his reason for doing so is so that he can mentally organize it onto a list of things he's done. He has a few interesting personality quirks, however. For example, he hates the feeling of cardboard on his hands, and tries to avoid touching it. Another quirk is that he has no problem with nudity, either his own or that of others. His reasoning for that is, and I quote "They don't have anything I haven't seen before, and I don't have anything they haven't seen before." This has led to at least three embarrassing situations that he looks back and laughs at now.
Calvin's favorite food is tacos, waffles, and chocolate shakes. He enjoys most newer literature, as most older literature he finds too dry. He also enjoys most types of music, with classic rock being his favorite. His favorite bands and singers depend on his mood, but his top 10 usually remain the same, except the positions change every so often. He likes to sing, and actually has a very good singing voice, but his introversion prevents him from really taking advantage of that. One thing he doesn't like to do is talk about his life before he came to the school. That information can really only be shared with someone he really trusts.
All of this makes him a generally alright person to be around. He enjoys learning new things, with Geography and the Sciences, being his favorite subjects, and seems to be a never-ending spring of trivia. Even the smallest, most useless facts in the world have their place in his mind and in his world. He one day hopes to go to Australia, as its unique features are something he wants to see up close.
He does have one issue, though.
He talks to himself. All the time.
Not because he wants to, mind you. Its just that...he's a hydra. His other heads can talk too. Except in Calvin's human form, he only has one mouth. So his other heads have to talk out of it as well, which they will, given the slightest lull in conversation, especially his second.
This can make it somewhat hard to get a good read on Calvin, as it seems like he has several different personalities that are talking to each other. They don't always get along, argue a lot, and often complain at the others choices as well. It makes if kind of odd, since they're the same person. As such, its very rare to hear him silent. If he's not talking, it means that either they managed to agree on something for the moment, or they're listening to music.
Calvin's second head is slightly more confrontational, and a bit more of a jerk then original Calvin normally is. However, he'll usually call himself on it, which usually starts off another argument between them. Despite all of this, they do look out for each other, and are often quick to correct themselves if they get something wrong.
Calvin's third head is like a much more relaxed version to his first. While his first side is a bit of a neat freak and tends to organize, his third is the type to just let things be. Likewise, while his second is more the type to get out and do things with others, his third side is more inclined to just spend a day relaxing in the sunlight. He tries to avoid confrontation, but given his position and who he has to share a body with, this is almost impossible. The reason this is impossible is because he's the one that his first and second heads turn to when they have an argument that needs a tie breaking. Given the situation, he will usually side with the first head 6 to 7 times out of 10. However, when he is so inclined, he does have a wild streak. He also shares the belief of the other two heads about a home and trust between others.
However, unlike the other two heads, Calvin's third is less likely to forgive someone who crosses him immediately. He will eventually, as holding grudges for a long time takes more effort then he's willing to exert for something so petty, but it does take a while to get back on his good side if you get off it. However, considering how hard it is to do so, as he is the most laid back of the three of them, if someone accomplishes that then they had to have been trying to do so. As such, he's very friendly, as its easier to be someone's friend then to be someone's enemy.
Simply put, he puts effort into things that he wants to put effort into. What those things are depend on the mood he's in, as he's more then willing to let the other two heads decide what to do. Leading takes a lot of effort.
The first thing that anyone will notice about Calvin's fourth head is that he has an opinion on anything, whether it was asked for or not. This is also not helped by the fact that he curses like the child of a pirate and a one-eyed carpenter. What he says, however, varies from total nonsense to surprisingly important. This is because he remembers everything he hears, and really seems to have no off-switch.
Calvin's 4th head bores easily, with the most usual sign that he's bored is that he's quiet, and the most common solution to his boredom is usually whatever comes into his mind first. This usually happens to be random destruction, but only if its big and showy. Otherwise, there is almost no rhyme or reason to what he would want to do. But, if a better idea is presented, he'll go with that one instead. The best words to describe him would be impulsive and spontaneous. But, even if that's the case, he enjoys the company of others and would much rather be bored with someone else then alone. Having no one around to do something with is something that Calvin's 4th head cannot stand.
Calvin's 4th head values whatever honor or reputation that he can get, and will go to ludicrous lengths to defend and protect that. In contrast to his 3rd head, who will eventually drop a grudge as it takes too much effort, 4th will not let it go until he is satisfied. For someone of his nature, he is surprisingly patient when it comes to that.
post-death After dying, Calvin's personality changed. He became much more open and forthcoming then he ever was before hand. He's also become more driven then he used to be and much more likely to take charge of a situation, a stark change from the usually reserved person he was. There's a reason for that though.
After Calvin was reborn, his former first and second sides merged together, creating an entirely new personality based on a mix of both of them. The new 'main' side of Calvin has First Calvin's compassion and pacifism. He also has Second's Calvin's drive and openness. As such, Calvin's new First side is someone who won't be afraid to tell you what he wants and will try to get it, but will also make sure that all parties end up satisfied with the end result.
The old Third Calvin has become the new Second. He has remained much as the same as he used to be. However, now that the biggest causes of disagreements between the Calvin's has been rectified, he's almost no longer called in to be their middle ground. This is a development that he is fine with, as it gives him more time to relax and enjoy life as it comes. He still will play the part of peacemaker if necessary, as with the other Calvin's the way they are, it seems to be a role that he naturally falls into.
Fourth Calvin became the new Third. Like before, he has the mouth of a child of a pirate and a one-eyed carpenter. Like before, he still has an opinion on most things and will let you know. Unlike before, however, he is less likely to go into a profanity filled rant at the drop of a hat. Due to the new First Calvin being more of a take-charge type of individual, he no longer has to try and work himself up with his words. He no longer tries to provoke the rest into action due to the merger causing First to do it himself. He still holds his personal honor in high regard and he's still hard to get along with and does continue to make inopportune jokes that he finds hilarious. Some things never change.
So that leaves the mystery. The new fourth Calvin. This was the Calvin that was born after Calvin returned from the dead with an extra head but no personality to go with it. But, one is there. Quiet. That is the best way to describe the new fourth Calvin. While third Calvin has an opinion on everything and anything, and will make sure you know about it, the new Fourth Calvin almost never says anything. Even if he does speak, it will be short and to the point. And that will only if he can't express what he's trying to say otherwise. Most of the time, it will be Third Calvin who gets him to talk, because he won't get it otherwise.
Fourth Calvin, like Third, also holds his personal honor in high accord and also will go to any length to defend it. However, like Second, he also has a very much 'go-with-the-flow' mentality. Because of this, he gets along surprisingly well with Calvin's Third side, able to handle pretty much whatever Calvin's Third side says, and never really let it get to him, or respond to it. As such, Third Calvin can say pretty much whatever he wants with Fourth around and not be told to stop. Granted, the other Calvin's might say something, but Fourth will almost never do that. If they were separate entities, they'd probably be best friends.
Fifth Calvin is a bit different from the others. Instead of being a new facet of Calvin that manifested itself, it was an entirely separate Calvin that merged with the original. It took a while, but the Calvin that was created by The Game was finally able to merge with the original. And that Calvin is the newest one to manifest itself. Which makes this Calvin sort of like a combination of the four previous Calvins. Simply put, dealing with this Calvin is like dealing with the other four at the same time, as he might act like them at any moment.
What is probably the most different part of Calvin after his return, is that he no longer sees his other sides as less then himself. He treats the rest of them like he would be treated himself. As such, he is much more willing to let a different Calvin take over for a day or event then he used to be. There is much more trust between them, as they treat each other just like that, as each other. Granted, they still bicker with each other, but show me siblings or roommates that don't and I'll show you a horror movie waiting to happen.
History:
Calvin was born on January 19th, 1992 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and lived there for most of his life. His childhood years were a rather happy, as he had a small group of friends and a safe (for New Orleans) neighborhood. He did prefer learning to most recreational activity, and suffered the occasional ribbing for that, but he did have fun doing both.
His early teen years were barely any different from his childhood, and he was apparently dubbed to be a late-bloomer. He still had problems with girls and he still preferred learning do the new recreational activity known as "dating". Of course, he still hit a rebellious phase, which bugged his father to no end. Most of his rebellion came about the topic of religion, which his father, a devoutly religious man, often was on the receiving end of. His mother, more supportive, chalked it up to teenage hormones and "Boys will be boys"
Calvin's life soon found a bit of direction in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Although not hit directly, the strongest part of the storm went over New Orleans like a tidal wave. Amazingly, their home was spared from most of the damage and devastation that wrecked most of the city, and they were able to recover faster and get back to a normal life quicker then many of the other millions of residents. Calvin's reaction to one of the most devastating storms to ever come about in recorded history? "Cooooooollllllll"
As soon as his studies could begin again, he focused on Geography and Earth Sciences. Due to the slow recovery, however, he wasn't able to start his classes until 2007. Things started off well enough, until much to his surprise, a group of popular students invited him to a party in celebration of the new school year to be held at an old sawmill about two hours drive into the bayou. He didn't really know why he accepted the offer to go with them. After all, there were the senior class, and technically, he was a freshman. But, he was invited, and was the youngest person in the group of 11, at only age 15.
It turned out the word 'party' that he was invited to, was actually just code for the others. What they had meant was "Drink till our livers give out and ruin our future by making the future generation". In other words, it was exactly the sort of thing that he didn't enjoy going to.
He tried to enjoy himself, but it didn't take long for everyone else to get boozed up and connecting. He secretly wished he had brought a book or something, as he was defiantly the odd-man out in this scenario. So, in an attempt to wait out everyone, he decided to climb onto one of the old watch platforms and just wait until everyone was done.
What happened next could best be described as a scene out of a "Final Destination" movie. As he was climbing up to solitude, one of the more amorous couples of the group had accidentally tripped the switch that activated the giant saw that was used to cut the logs. The sudden noise caught Calvin's attention, and he looked back to see what had just happened. However, he turned too quickly, and set the ladder he was on off-balanced. He struggled for a bit to regain control, but it bounced backwards a few times before it fell backwards. The last thing he remembered feeling was a high-powered saw cutting through his neck before he blacked out.
Everyone else who was in the sawmill immediately sobered up when they saw the sudden and extremely violent apparent death of Calvin. There were some screams and much profanity that echoed throughout the mill that night. The rest of the group quickly recovered and scrambled back to the van. It wasn't until they had been gone five miles that someone asked if it was alright to leave the body. That was responded with silence until someone pointed out that no one goes there, anyway. It was then that they reached an agreement. They wouldn't tell anyone what happened, and if they asked, Calvin never came with them.
Calvin, on the other hand, suddenly came back to consciousness with a splitting headache. When he was able to focus his eyes again, he noticed that blood sprayed everywhere and that all of his clothes were reduced to shreds. He shouted out to see if anyone was around, only to be answered by...himself. He had answered his own question, yet somehow felt like he didn't. Like it was someone else answering for him.
It took him a minute, but then he realized that he must have hit his head or something in the fall. That didn't explain all of the blood or shredded clothes, but honestly, he wasn't sure if he wanted an answer. He was eventually able to find an all-night diner where he was able to call his mom at home and somewhat explain the bizarre turn of events.
A few hours later, his mom arrived at the diner with a fresh set of clothes, love,support, and then quickly grounded him for the rest of his natural life. Calvin was still talking to himself, but that was chalked up to post-traumatic stress disorder. It was a long ride back, but he decided that there would be no more parties for him as long as he went to school if they were going to go like that.
The next day, however, turned out to be even worse.
Calvin returned to school as if nothing had happened, except for a sudden talkative streak. However, several of the people he was in the party group with saw him there. They were surprised, to say the least, considering they saw him die by decapitation not twelve hours ago. A quick electronic meeting between them brought forth questions, until someone brought up the news. They had seen him die, yet there he was. There was the possibility that he was an Evotelluric. The thought of that brought about a mix of emotions, mostly confusion and hatred. An agreement was reached that they would tell no one, but would invite Calvin to meet with them about last night in the classroom where wood-shop was taught after the final bell rang. After all, if he could survive getting decapitated once, he could certainly do it again.
To make a long story short, they approached Calvin with their offer. In an attempt to find out himself, he agreed, even though he kept saying that he shouldn't. Aloud. He soon found himself bound and caught in their clutches as they began to say horrible things such as "abomination" and "monster" and other cliche words used in that situation. When they told him their plan to decapitate him, again, Calvin started to struggle and plead with them. However, he also kept saying that he would make them regret this if they went through with it. Needless to say, they didn't listen. That's when Calvin's new voice told them that he warned them.
That was the second time that Calvin transformed into a hydra, and the first time he was conscious of it. It was then that he also became aware that the other voice talking out of him was the 2nd head he had grown in this form. In the end, the entire ordeal had lasted less then five minutes before Calvin the Hydra was the only thing left alive in the room. As much as he didn't want to do that, he wanted to die less.
That was the second time in a row that he returned home with his clothes ripped to shreds with the faint aroma of blood on him. This time however, he knew what he was now. His mother was still supportive, as very few things can corrupt a mothers love. His father, however, said, and I quote: "There is no room in this house for the Beast of Revelations."
Calvin was kicked out into the streets less then a day later, left with only the clothes on his back and a few personal possessions. For two long years he had to survive on the streets, occasionally sneaking back home when his father wasn't home in order to get some sign of kindness in the world. His mother however, kept looking for solutions. When she heard of a special school for people like her son, she sent him there post-haste in the hopes that he would be able to fit in and find happiness. Only time will tell if that hope would be realized.

Special abilities Hydra Hydra Form Height: 12 feet tall, 34 feet tall including the neck and head, 39 feet long with tail. Weight: 159 Metric Tons. Wingspan: 78 feet.
Stands on all fours, with the front legs longer then the back ones. Dark Green/Black skin/scales cover his body, and has a very muscular look. Hands and toes are now clawed. Eyes turn red. Necks and head have near-freedom of movement.
Total current head count: 5.
- Cannot be killed by decapitation. - If one head is cut off, it can regenerate. Can take upwards of fifteen minutes for a head to grow back. - Heads and necks getting cut off still hurt A LOT. If all his heads get cut off, he returns to human form and is unable to change back for several hours. - Heads are still able to speak - Speed is reduced greatly, running speed reduced to 5 mph with possible sprints of 15 mph. Cannot run for longer then ten seconds before having to come to a stop. In other words, moving other then his heads is not easy and attacks on his body will hit 95% of the time. - Heads can easily move at a constant speed of 15 mph for long periods of time, and are much more dexterous then the main body. - Mouths on each head can stretch wide enough to swallow an average car - Is easily visible, so anything requiring stealth is near-impossible. - Each head retains human intelligence. - Takes 15-30 seconds to fully transform. It takes fifteen seconds minimum while in a calm situation, while taking up to thirty in high-stress situations or while exhausted. - Strength is vastly increased, able to knock over an object weighing 4,000 lb either via one of his heads or pushing with his forearms. - Is capable of using 1/4 of the full strength of his hydra form in his human form. Meaning that if his hydra form was able to carry 10,000 pounds, his human form would be able to carry 2,500 pounds. - Eyesight remains the same. Sense of smell and taste improved. Smells with his tongue. Hearing is better underwater or in rain then in regular air. - Is cold blooded in both human and hydra form, which makes his movements in very cold weather sluggish and exhausting in very hot weather, as he has no way of internally adjusting his internal body temperature. - Still new to transformation, may transform accidentally under conditions of extreme stress, anger, or tension. - Is able to transform between his various forms five times a day at most before running out of energy and requiring large amounts of food consumption to regain his strength and energy. - Different sides of Calvin are able to mentally communicate with each other (i.e. talk with each other) while in human and hybrid form.
Hybrid form A new form Calvin discovered that he possessed that is a mix of his hydra and human forms. While not as strong as his hydra form, it is much more useful in smaller or tighter spaces.
Height: 7 feet tall from head to foot. 12' long from head to tail. 5' long tail. Weight: 400 lbs. Wingspan: 10 feet.
Calvin stands on two legs in this form and looks extremely muscular, down to his tail. Is covered head-to-toe in scales. Hands and toes are clawed and his eyes remain red. Has only one head in this form and all of them can continue to speak out of it. He maintains a smaller version of his wings from his hydra form.
- Has an average speed of 10 MPH and can sprint at 17 MPH for short periods of time. - His tail is highly dexterous, able to wrap around small objects, yet it strong enough to lift and hold his body with ease. - Is capable of using 1/2 of his full hydra power while in this form. - Takes 15-30 seconds to fully transform. It takes fifteen seconds minimum while in a calm situation, while taking up to thirty in high-stress situations or while exhausted. - Sense's are equal to that of hydra form. - Scales are just as strong as his hydra form, and can alter colors as well. - Still cannot be killed by decapitation, but will return to human form and be unable to transform back for several hours if he is in this form. - Remainder of advantages and disadvantages to his hydra form carry over to this one (Including energy consumption from transformation, senses, cold blood, etc, not counting abilities of head which don't exist in this form) Scale Defense Calvin's scales have hardened to the point where they have become almost completely impregnable. Bullets will easily bounce off of his body, unless the bullet was intended to pierce armor, and even then the force of the shot will likely do more damage then the bullet itself. As such, smaller and weaker bullets, while possibly able to lodge into and dent his scales, will in most situations, be unable to penetrate him, essentially making Calvin bulletproof. (With the usual exceptions of places where he isn't scaled, such as eyes or inside his mouth.) Point Blank shots, within 30 feet however and greater then .50, will be able to pierce him.
Calvin's scales are also able to blunt bladed weapons as well, making him very hard to be cut by them. However, if the force is strong enough, a bladed weapon would be able to cut him. The force necessary to do so would have to be greater then the force Calvin could exert to resist it. As such, a force stronger then he is would be needed to cut through if he resisted, and a force only slightly stronger then he is if he didn't. Even under those situations, the cuts will likely not be clean cuts, and would likely require several attempts to actually sever something from his body. In essence, his scales have a cutting defense equal to titanium.
As a side note, any sort of magical enhancements, such as a lightning blade or ice bullets will still have those enhancements if they struck him. A part of Calvin hit with a lightning blade will still get shocked and getting shot with an ice bullet will still make where he was hit feel cold, even if the sword or bullet doesn't penetrate. Any cutting or piercing enhancements, such as a skill that will always penetrate or cut due to magical properties, will be able to cut through him or pierce him.
This applies to the scales on all of Calvin's various forms.
Alternate coloration: The scales on Calvin's body are normally dark green/black. However, recently he has discovered that he can change their color. By concentrating lightly, he can change his coloration from his entire body down to an individual scale, thus being able to make patterns and markings for his body that he can change at whim. Flight Calvin's wings now have enough strength in them so that he is able to fly. Granted, he has just figured out how, and as such can't go very fast. A speed of 7mph is as fast as he can fly, and that's in a straight line. Turning, ascending, and descending all slow him down, causing him to have to flap his wings faster in order to maintain altitude. Also, while he is in hydra form, the strength of his wing flaps can create wind gusts that, while not strong enough to knock a person over, would create definite resistance if a person was walking towards him, making it harder to approach, if Calvin was on the ground flapping them.
Calvin can fly for a maximum of fifteen minutes at a time before his wings get tired and he has to land. If landing isn't possible right then, he has about 45 seconds to find someplace to land before his wings give out entirely and he enters a free fall. After that fifteen minute timeframe, Calvin needs to rest his wings for about 60-90 minutes before he gains enough strength in them to fly again. If Calvin is carrying someone, or someone is riding on him, that has the weight of an average person/werewolf, then his flight time is reduced by five minutes while in his hybrid form, and by two minutes in his hydra form.
Calvin is capable of flying in all his forms that have wings. Fire Breath As Calvin starts to reach adolescence (in hydra terms), more of his body has started changing. His wings’ growing in was the first, and now his flame sacs have started to develop. Of course, this is only in his hybrid and hydra forms. His throat and esophagus have developed flame-and-heat resistant lining, which also means that he can eat spicy food with ease. But in his hybrid and hydra states, Calvin has developed flame sacs in his throat.
There are two flame sacs on either side of Calvin's throat, each of them containing a separate chemical compound that Calvin's body naturally produces. Separately, the chemicals are harmless, and can even be ingested with no harm done. However, when they're combined, a chemical reaction occurs and they chemically react to form a gas. Said gas combusts when in contact with oxygen, taking about 1.5 seconds to react, preventing Calvin from burning the inside of his mouth.
When he breaths out, this gas will extend out to a distance of up to 15 feet in hybrid form and 30 in his hydra form in a straight line as wide as his head from his mouth in one single burst that lasts for a second to two at best. These flames are hot enough to create second degree burns upon a full direct hit to the skin at point blank, and can cause first degree burns by touching the perimeter of the flames. The farther out the flame is, the weaker the heat due to dispersal, with the point of ignition being the hottest. So, while the range is large, the edges of the flames are irritating at best. In addition, all of Calvin's heads can do this in hydra form, though they'll need to aim to avoid hitting each other. One interesting thing of note is that in hydra form, the flames are different colors depending on which head they come from.
He has enough gas to fire five streams of these flames out a day before he his body has to replenish the chemicals in the flame sacs, which naturally occurs over the time period of a day due to his diet. As each head has its own pair of flame sacks, each head can fire off five of these streams. Bulk Up As time passed, Calvin was able to determine that he can partially transform his body while in his human and hybrid form. The first use he discovered was that he could increase his muscle mass by focusing there, gaining more of his strength. The change results in an increase of one inch in muscle size and definition when he uses this, and increases his strength by letting him lift 500 more lbs. This also makes him harder to hurt, due to extra muscle layers beneath his skin and scales, making Calvin more resistant to damage. For every use of it, it takes a greater force to cut through him or pierce his body. Thus, if his scales are bypassed by an attack, including things like vibrations from normal blunt force, cutting, etc, this makes it much harder to hurt him. For example, a blow that might cut off a limb would be unable to do so completely after one use. After two, it would stop halfway. Three uses can make the slash only slightly cut him. Four uses would cause the blow to become a slash, and five uses turns it into a light cut.
However, using this comes at a downside. First off, the increased weight he has by forcing muscle expansion causes him to move slower, effectively cutting his speed in half. Second, he is unable to fly while using this. Third, every time he uses this ability, it cuts down on the amount of times he is able to transform per day on a one-to-one ratio. Each use of this ability keeps the same effects as the last one, only adding on to it. For example, if he used it while human, he would be able to increase his strength and resistances (5 instances of 500lbs as of this writing), but his speed would be cut in half five times over and he wouldn't be able to transform for the rest of the day. Finally, each boost lasts for only an hour.
Calvin cannot use this technique while in his hydra form. Plot Armor/Deus Ex Machina Limit: Once Per Day Casting Time: Thirty Minutes Target: One Person (Can Target Self)
Deus Ex Machina is a favorite among the more adventurous Storytellers. As its unofficial name implies, it is basically plot armor. In the event that something terminal is about to happen to a Storyteller with this spell active, the spell triggers and creates a Deus Ex Machina scenario that saves the mage in an often outlandish and improbable (but not impossible) way.
For some strange reason however, this spell is never lethal to anyone although it may give the Fate Magi the chance to slip away or sneak in an attack. The Deus Ex Machina scenario triggers once with each casting and the protection is good for 24 hours or until the charge is expended.
Dusk Drifter Dusk Drifter allows Calvin to travel the world in two dimensions as a moving shadow. In this form, Calvin can slip through cracks and travel along the walls and ceilings, as long as there is a surface, Calvin can move along it without occupying space. In this form,Calvin is unaffected by any physical attacks such as blunt force, stabs, or cuts. On the other hand, he is dangerously vulnerable to fire, electricity, and light-based weapons or abilities.
To meld into the shadows, Calvin must first find a suitable portal: generally, a highly contrasting shadow or dark area. Once Calvin immerses in that shadow or darkness, he will slowly radiate his own dark light, and eventually will blend in with the shadows and disappear. The entire process takes about 10 seconds to complete, and in that time if a light source disrupts the shadow, Calvin is immediately pulled back into physical form. Being forced out of this bond with the shadows comes as a shock to Calvin's system, and for every second he was under the process, Calvin will unable to try again for ten minutes. Not only is he unable to attempt another Dusk Drifter, but Calvin will be unable to use any of his powers for a minute for each second he underwent the merging, up to nine minutes. Finally, being forced out of the merging process causes physical and emotional pain from being effectively ripped out of his ‘shadow body’, and will range from disorientation to outright emotional shock and collapse depending on the strength of the disrupting light and how long he spent in the merging process.
In his shadow form, Calvin takes the shape of himself in his physical form with a surface are ranging from 1.5m – 3m. Calvin can extend his limbs or contort his body in any way, as long as his surface area stays in that range. Additionally, Calvin can move in his shadow form at speeds up to a maximum of 3 m/s in any direction, including up and down. The only boundaries in movement concerning Calvin is a matter of contact on surfaces, so he is able to move along walls and on ceilings without problem. Calvin's shadow form can vary in shading from barely visible to as dark as the original “portal”, but brightening his shadow form comes at a serious danger. As Calvin moves into brighter areas, the maximum shading of his shadow form decreases somewhat. Slow changes in lighting will not affect him very much, but sudden flashes will severely affect the shading of his shadow form. If Calvin's shade is completely gone, that is, his shadow form is no longer visible, then he is immediately forced back into his physical form (the consequences of this are discussed later).
Returning from the shadow form is a more forgiving process than merging. When Calvin returns to his physical state, a blob of darkness will emerge from his shadow form, and quickly take form of Calvin. Calvin’s separation takes only five seconds, and can be performed anywhere. Disruption by light does not accelerate the process, nor does it affect Calvin any more than usual. However, if Calvin is not attempting to separate, it is possible to force it. By shining a light bright enough such that Calvin’s shadow disappears, Calvin will immediately return to his physical form. This phenomenon is even more devastating to Calvin than being forced out of merging. If forced out of his shadow form this way, Calvin experiences tremendous physical and emotional shock and will immediately fall unconscious.
The time Calvin is able to spend in his shadow form ranges from 4 minutes to ten minutes. An estimate formula for this is t = 10 – 2v, where v is the average velocity in meters per second and t is the time in minutes. Should his time exceed, Calvin will immediately return to his physical form, but will undergo the regular separation process (even if unwillingly) and will not suffer any consequences. After using Dusk Drifter, Calvin is incapable of using it again for 5 minutes for every minute he spent in his shadow form.
As stated above, Calvin is unaffected by any kinetic weapon or physical force (unless they also generate ample heat or light). Calvin is, however, very susceptible to fire, electric, and light-based weapons and offensive powers. Not only does their light weaken Calvin’s shading, but he will also feel the attack four times as painfully as normal. These attacks are also more likely to give Calvin burn marks, where burns he would normally receive in physical form are one tier more severe, and Calvin will have many first-degree burns from only medium heat.
All of Calvin’s sensory function in his shadow form, his sensory organs left in the general area of where they should be on his shadow. When Calvin turns to the side, he will see out of one eye along the edge, and nothing if he faces the surface, unless it is transparent or translucent, and will see accordingly. When merging, Calvin is able to bring items he is wearing or firmly in his hand, but he cannot bring with him any living organism. Items he posses will be absorbed into his shadow, and will not change Calvin’s limitations on surface area, and are not able to be removed from his possession while in shadow form (ie. He can’t drop things and things won’t drop out of his pockets). In summary, Calvin will appear mostly nude in his shadow form since all his possessions are absorbed into him while using Dusk Drifter.

Second Year UniformP.L.E.A.S.E.D. 2.0:Poly Linguistic Enlightenment And Service Extension Device This upgrade to the standard poly linguistic enlightenment and service extension device can either be purchased through credits or earned by participating in board events. Like it's predecessor, it uses a combination of Bluetooth technology and a unique brand of communication magic; but this time around a psionic energy crystal has been added to expand its capabilities. Using the latest Magic Technology (MT for short), the psionic crystal removes all translation delay from known languages, making seamless understanding finally possible. That would not even be the tip of the iceberg's weight worth of new abilities the PLEASED 2.0 includes. Technical Specs: -Psionic Visual Translation Device (PVTD): Grants the user the ability to actually read any of the languages that the PLEASED can translate via Psionic enhancement of the brain and mind Psionic Neural Enhancement: The PLEASED 2.0 far out rivals the predecessor by subconsciously training the mind to become fluent in languages that an individual is reading or hearing. This does take some time to build upon, but most early testing shows that it takes roughly five weeks for a constant wearer to comprehend written and spoken words as their own native language. -Linguistic Adaptation: The new PLEASED may learn previously unknown languages (alien languages, ancient languages) by entering this new mode. Linguistic Adaptation is activated by pressing the small button on the bottom of the unit (the button closest to the ear). For best results, the PLEASED should be used to both read and listen to a new language for a period of three days. -Nano Neural Delay: The old PLEASED units take .5 seconds to translate what is being spoken, while these new units take less than a nanosecond. -Intercommunication: The call button on the new PLEASED actually grants the ability to open a communication relay with anyone else who has a 2.0, within a hundred mile radius. The 2.0s broadcast this through a high definition frequency projected by the new magic crystal adapted as their engine. To call someone, all that is required is to think of what they look like or who they are. Naturally, the better you know someone, the faster the PLEASED 2.0 can find them (via searching your brain waves) and open a channel. Incoming calls are also received through pressing the button, and a soft high frequency chime sounds off to notify that you are receiving a call. -Conference Calling: Up to twenty individuals can call and communicate between each other at once in crystal clear resolution. Like making a regular call, the person simply needs to concentrate on all the people that they want to reach. Recipients of a call can also connect other people on the line, up to twenty -Magic Frequency Modulation (MFM): This is the broadcast frequency that all calls use, which utilizes a shifting modulated warble frequency to prevent traced calls and bugs from listening in. This also means that users cannot interfere or even detect calls between other users. Nanofiber Integrated Computer with Adaptable Media-center A small, palm sized handheld is the newest piece of technology developed by Mr. Grimm. Small enough to fit in one's pocket, once it opens, the touch pad within can extend to become a full holographic keyboard, so the small size is useful for transportation but does not limit its function. The top part of the screen will normally project a high definition LED image, while the bottom projects a keyboard for typing (in any language that you specify). The integrated circuits within the computer automatically update and run at speeds that match top computers on the public market. Rumored to have up to 3 terabytes of storage space, the NICAM is not only the world’s smallest laptop, but one of the most robust. The nanofiber material is waterproof, rebounds from being crushed or crumpled, produces no heat, and will repair itself within 24 hours if torn. The batteries within the unit are solar powered and only need thirty minutes of sunlight to run for nine hours without stopping. It also comes equipped with school wide wifi, and can connect to other wireless networks like a regular computer. It does also serve as a media center, one can layout the NICAM on a flat surface and use the holographic projector to watch movies on wide screen, read books, listen to music (speaker systems included within the computer), or even use a tablet style function to draw or take notes. Perhaps the greatest achievement of this nanofiber technology is that it can still read disc media just by pressing the information side of the disc against the touch screen, and can form a miniature integrated USB port for thumb drives or other attachments. When asked how it works, Dr. Grimm stated he used different types of magically altered nanites that would mimic evotelluric DNA to be capable of mutating at high speeds to form what the user desires through selecting an application. It always begins in laptop form, but the touch of a button can change all that. These units are not only Bluetooth capable, but link into the PLEASED 2.0 to accept mobile commands, and even do video chat with other friends who have the 2.0! Azura Blue and Avalon Red VersionSchematicNICAM. Applications:NICAM Messenger: This application links to the PLEASED 2.0 (Ani. A. PLEASED 2.0) and posterior versions and allows the user to hold video conferences, and text messages in real time, having the receiver see a transparent screen on his mind with a reminder that there is a new message or a conference coming. For this to work, there has to be an available Wi-Fi or internet connection. This can also be used to hold holographic video conferences by setting the closed NICAM down on the ground a few feet in front of you and letting the hologram projector take care of the work. Bio-Scanner: With this application, the NICAM can scan a being using its camera. For now, it can only provide data on known beings, however to grow it's database it can take samples of a being and send the information collected from them to the Research and Development team for future analysis, with the corresponding credit to the NICAM user for it's discovery. Mini Fridge: Using this application, the NICAM provides a portal to a pocket dimension fridge, using the holoprojector to create a spell circle on a flat surface. Of course it has to be manually filled, however the advantage of such a fridge is the space, and as with the Bag of Holding Access, the search and tag function, allowing a user to tag his or her food and then use the search function to get them out without the hassle of looking around for it. Encapsulated Digital Battling Monster Application: A favorite past time of Japanese schoolchildren, the digital pet has made its way to the NICAM in this nifty, detailed application! Utilizing the holographic projectors, multi-platform data readers, speakers and inputs, the NICAM reads the information from any media and translates a digital pet into a holographic projection that can move and interact with its owner. This application also works with other NICAM users to enable small scale digital battles brought to stunning, lifelike quality. The digital monsters projected are limited by the range of the hardware. They bear no substance and cannot physically interact with the world around them, but they can react through the camera of the NICAM unit. Blocking the holographic projectors, turning off the application or hardware, or otherwise impeding the function of the NICAM or application halts the projection of the digital monster and its interactivity until circumstances are adjusted. Battles initiated and interaction with other EDBMA users follow standard Roleplaying rules regarding godmodding, thread starter’s rights, and Terms of Service. In no way can an EDBMA user override, interrupt or otherwise compromise the effectiveness of tech-based powers nor use their projected monster to interrupt abilities used on the owner. Elemental Cloth Elemental Cloth is a special fabric based off of Watercloth that is much more resistant and that through some enhancements can provide much better protection for magi and evos alike. For a start, the cloth adapts to the body, making buying new clothes only necessary when looking for a new style and pattern. This also implies that if the owner was to shift forms, the cloth would mold to the new shape and optionally integrate to the skin.
Minor forces are effectively spread through the cloth, making paper cuts, bruises and similar minor threats from walking around a wild environment null. This however doesn't implies you won't get slashed by a sword, or stabbed by a dagger or knife, this only protects from minor threats and can be upgraded to obtain more resistance.
Calvin's elemental clothes are rather simple. A red shirt, a pair of black pants, and a replica of his favorite red jacket that he'll start to wear when the original finally wears out and not a day before.
Elemental Clothe Upgrades:
Freezing Resistance: With this upgrade you can walk with your summer clothes in the middle of winter and don't worry about getting frozen. As if recovered by a warm air coat, you won't feel the cold until the exterior temperature hits the 0 ºF (-18 ºC). Ice magic might not be prevented by this though.
Recovery: With this upgrade, the clothes will recover from harm through time not being worn. As long as a single thread of the clothe exists, it can regain it's original shape and size though for this to happen, at least one day will be necessary... Minor damage such as small cuts and similar will recover within minutes or hours depending on size. Memory Charm In the shape of a necklace, ring, bracelet, earring or some other trinket, this object records up to five hours of events from the user's memory and then can project them for the user or anyone else around them to see. They will be able to walk around the memory to the farthest extent that the user was conscious of however, only being able to perceive what was perceived by the wearer. However, the human mind picks up much more detail than we can actually recall, leading these memories to be rather detailed.
The best recording will happen when the user is actually wearing the charm, as it will record the events more accurately, however someone can choose to take an old memory and imprint it on the charm. This leaves the possibility of their own mind making changes to the memory however. To activate, any participants in the memory must be touching the charm or the wearer and willingly activate it, thus an unwilling party can not be drawn in to the memory. It leaves them in a dream like state where they witness the memory in their mind. At any point, someone could remove themselves by simply 'waking up', which is an easy process to do.
Calvin's charm is an average watch that he wears on his wrist. It shows the time, but the design that is the backdrop display to the watch changes. If the time in the AM, the backdrop is that of Calvin's hybrid form. If the time is in the PM, the backdrop is that of Calvin's hydra form. All Terrain Regenerative Footwear In a combination of Red Claw research and military genius, a possibility for a shoe was born that surpasses anything that a person can buy on the public market. These shoes come in a variety of shapes and sizes to match the wearer's needs, but that is where civilian market comparisons end. ATRFs are designed for combat purposes with crossing difficult terrain in mind. These shoes contain a gel layer beneath the foot that adds as a shock absorber, which through using magic technology is kinetically transferred to the bottom of the shoe based on the current stability needs. This can either be used to minimize or maximize force per square inch, or to maintain perfect balance over shifting and difficult terrain. The shoes do monitor the nervous system for responses to make certain they act upon demand. Finally, the regenerative part of the acronym is not just there for show. These shoes can and will compensate for massive speeds (up to 200 m/s) without breaking, but even still they are capable of self repair to fix any damage aside from complete destruction. It takes twenty four hours of off time for them to fix massive destruction (as in having less then a quarter shoe left), and less time for lesser amounts of damage. The only rule is that they must be off the feet and unused for the time required to repair.
With a set of ATRFs, a person does not loose their balance just due to shifting terrain. Thus they cannot be knocked over unless they actually trip on something or get pushed. When attempting to run over loose packed snow, the shoes will wind up absorbing most of the force one's feet exert while still allowing them to run, giving them the ability to cross atop the snow. Over something like ice, the force is amplified just to the point to provide constant traction should that be the user's will. Yet, if one wanted to slide, the shoes would also allow for this thanks to the nervous system monitor. Thanks to the improved capabilities for tracking though, these shoes make it possible to run up difficult rocky terrain or even through a dense forest, assuming you can manage to not trip on an exposed root. They cannot be used to walk on water, or over extreme surface temperatures like lava. Volunteer Tie Pin These small platinum tie pins are circular and measure roughly a quarter of an inch in diameter. A small ruby and sapphire cut to match yin and yang sit in the center and glow with a soft golden light; a representation of power gained by those whom volunteer for the Azura and Avalon student body. These tiepins increase the total credits earned through an SL by one for each and every player, assuming the student participant that holds this item completed the storyline. The storyline itself must have been completed, and these items do not work to increase monthly participation credits, Limbus runs, or CSLs. This bonus does not stack if other characters in the storyline have this item (meaning that the bonus can only be applied ONCE). Normally, a P.L.E.A.S.E.D. Unit allows one person to understand and eventually learn to talk, read, and write in a new language through the Psionic Neural Enhancement, the Psionic Visual Translation Device, and the Linguistic Adaptions. While this is nice, it doesn't do much for the people that don't have a P.L.E.A.S.E.D. Unit. With the Psi.U.A. Upgrade, the P.L.E.A.S.E.D. Unit can now broadcast a short ranged pulse of Psionic Magic Energy in order to allow everyone to understand everyone else in the ranged of the broadcasted pulse. This upgrade is applied by a unique wave of Psionic Energy that changes the Psionic Crystals that power the existing P.L.E.A.S.E.D. Units in order to be able to emit this pulse of energy.
This pulse of Psionic Magic allows everyone to speak and understand the Owner's Primary Language as if they themselves knew the language fluently while maintaining the less than a nanosecond delay. The range of the pulse is about twenty feet, and the Intercommunication and Conference Calling features can be used while maintaining the crystal clear quality of the P.L.E.A.S.E.D. 2.0 with using this upgrade at the same time. With the conference calling, since only one P.L.E.A.S.E.D. is used, all of the people within the Psi.U.A. Upgrade are included, while only counting as one person. The Masquerade A small artefact of spatial manipulation, the Masquerade is a headpiece, from a full on mask to perhaps a simple set of reading glasses, that bears a part of a disguise, in Calvin's case this is a small earring on his eyebrow. When placed on one’s face, the Masquerade instantly makes several minor cosmetic changes to the wearer’s face, including a change of hair colour to any hue desired, a lengthening or shortening of their hair up to a few inches, eye colour change, skin colour, and slight alterations to the facial structure all around. The mask is not powerful enough to make you look identical to anyone else, but it is enough that it could fool most people when you wear it. It takes 60 seconds of intuitive thought to alter one’s face appropriately, and the cosmetic changes instantly disappear when the Masquerade is removed. Naturally, the harder the mask is to take off, the longer it takes to put on, so keep the design in mind. Mukae-bi A small, crackling flame that has been enchanted, the Mukae-bi doesn’t emit heat or need fuel to burn. Instead, it hovers like a will o’ wisp over the palm of the owner. It comes in a variety of colors that can be changed at will and emits a soft light, but measures only 6” from base to tip. Placing the fire on an object will hold the flame to the surface like a sticker, crackling and safe while being an effective light source in a five foot diameter. To temporarily extinguish the flame, closing it in the palms of the owner will dampen it and reduce it to a manageable 1” that can be put in one’s pocket or bag of holding without ruining the item. This fire has been enchanted to extinguish completely in circumstances that would interfere with its magical nature, so enhancements cannot alter its use. After being destroyed or extinguished, it will take 24 hours to reappear in the owner’s palm when summoned. Skywriting Sparklers Shaped like a typical sparkler, these fireworks have been modified to a degree. When waved about, the light trails they leave behind persist, allowing for limited writing in the air. The light persists for fifteen seconds before fading away again. The sparklers themselves last for one minute and come in a variety of colors, each having this property, along with one other significant difference from a standard sparkler. Once spent, these items regenerate themselves over a period of twenty four hours, meaning they can be used again and again. Obviously, they work best in the dark, but certain colors can be seen in daylight as well.
