11/27/09 Good day all, I hope those of you that celebrate Thanksgiving had a great holiday, while I hope the rest of the world had a good day in general. Time to make some announcements about December! As you know, with our one year Anniversary coming up on Dec 4th (since we came out of Beta), the Staff has been planning some major fun games and prizes for the month to properly celebrate. FFP is also going to be doing her closing events as the Student Council President, which means the board is going to be offering a lot of great stuff this next month. I know it is darned near the busiest time of the year for all of us, but December last year was a great month for our board, and I would like to shatter those records. Student Template Version 2.1 Student Name: Estralia Mallaen Nickname: Essie Gender: Female Age: 15 D.O.B: June/9/1994 Race: Evo Ethnicity: Italian and Japanese Physical Appearance: ![]() Height: 5'5 Weight: 125lbs Estralia Mallaen was born with pitch black hair, violet eyes, and a light skin complexion bordering pale. As she grew older, she began having "complications" with her right eye, forcing her to use an eyepatch to cover up the undesirable flaw of which she still uses to this day. Not really the type to use force in any of her daily routines, Essie has always been an owner of a small and delicate bodyframe. Despite her love of change and her frequent changes of style, she currently wears her hair layered, in its original color, letting it flow past her slender neck and shoulders. At this stage, she has been experimenting with "girly" styles centering around skirts, blouses, high heels, and make-up. In fact, for the past six months, she has abandoned her Levi jeans, t-shirts, sneakers, and the like. The colors most frequently seen in her closet these days are purple, blue, red, white, and black. Personality: From a very young age, Essie learned that there weren't a lot of people who cared about other people's thoughts or feelings. Because of this, she tends to hide details about herself from others and would rather tell them what they want to hear so they can leave her alone. It was better for her to have no friends than to have fake friends and she believed in that with all her heart; therefore, her frequent bouts of lonliness didn't particularly bother her. After all, if she was alone, she was safe. That didn't stop her from having to deal with the outside world and all the phony people that inhabited it, unfortunately. Elementary school and middle school were very difficult for her, especially since none of the other kids had to wear eyepatches. And as they teased her and pushed her around, she began to develop an inner distrust of humanity as a whole and became very distant. All those who spoke with her, even those with good intentions, were met with a guarded Essie who was unwilling to let most inside to see who she really was. Whereas others would consider her quiet and reclusive, she would consider herself cautious. Because of this early mentality, she now has trouble mingling with others and decides that it's better not to comment if the words don't seem to fit together nicely. Although it would take time for anyone willing to keep at it to break through her defenses, they might find the person inside worth the fight. Deep down, Estralia's a talkative, intelligent, emotionally deep young girl who is quite adventurous and has an opinion on just about everything in life. Even though her childhood has left her comfortable with being alone, she still fancies a group of friends she can relate to or hang out with. She loves to laugh and tease and is a very optimistic type of girl who is great at self-motivation as well as motivating others. But of course, that side of Essie is never actually seen on first encounters. When She's Sad/Upset: Unlike most recluses, she wears her emotions on her face and can't help but to frown when she's sad or upset; however, short of hurting her family and loved ones, it's rather difficult to cause her to be sad. She expects very little out of other people and although she's still capable of feeling disappointment, it rarely ever actually effects her. Crying really isn't her method of coping. She would much rather hide in her room behind a locked door for the remainder of the day, choosing not to make contact with the outside world unless absolutely necessary. However, if she happens to have a close friend who she fully trusts, she could also be found hiding out at their house. Getting over the incident usually takes at least half a day but can last up to three or four days. When She's Happy/Excited: Happiness, in its greatest form for Essie, shows immensely in the way she carries herself with grand confidence. In a great mood, she tends to skip to her destinations at a leisurely pace, taking in the beauty of nature and appreciating the rays of the sun and the cool calming wind. She's most susceptible to friendship and mingling when she's happy simply because she feels a lot more optimistic about everything and everyone. Many simple things can cause Estralia to feel happy and excited. For example, cute cuddly animals, delicious dessert, or pure luck with difficult situations can lead to her feeling quite happy or excited. Her happiness is not as easy to maintain as her other moods, however. When She's Afraid/Worried/Stressed: Most of her worries and stress comes from her interaction with other people. If she's particularly fond of someone and she wants to befriend them, she usually starts feeling this way. Essie resorts to fidgeting and rambling to herself to cope with stress and worries and can end up feeling quite depressed if she doesn't start feeling better within a few days. Also, stressful situations make her feel cluttered, causing normal and efficient thought processes to slow as she panics. Being alone helps her get a handle of situations although it doesn't actually solve anything in the end. Being afraid is a little similar for her in the fact that she slowly goes into a panicky state wherein her thought processes are slowed and inefficient. She dislikes feeling afraid because it brings on a sense of hopelessness that she never wants to experience. When She's Frustrated/Confused: Frustration and Confusion for her, typically, go hand in hand; when she's frustrated, it's generally because she's confused. As a curious being, she tries to learn all she can about anything that initially confuses her and is very open to the answers of her inquiries. In this aspect, the "go-getter" side of her shows the most because she would do just about anything to ease her confusion and frustration. When She's Angry: For her, getting truly angry is slightly difficult. She's the type that bottles most everything inside until it eventually explodes. This explosion usually makes it easier for her to focus, plan, and get violent (or as violent as she ever gets which isn't really that bad, all things considered). The worst of her worst surfaces and she becomes a severely condescending, egotistical monster at its peak. Due to her tendency of holding grudges, her intense anger can last for days (if not weeks), causing her to be very hard to communicate with. When She Likes You: It's easy to tell when Essie has an interest in someone and wants to befriend them because she tries to find ways of bumping into them again. If they shared a place that they're easy to be found at, Essie would visit it too in hopes of seeing them again. She may play it off as an accidental occurence, but it's usually obvious she went through the trouble just to see them. She smiles a lot more and may even sit next to the person to show them she enjoys their company and may even express how sad it is to see them go. When She Loves You: If Essie loves someone, they're probably her family or someone she thinks of as family. If she loves them, she'd just about tell them everything and anything on her mind because she honestly and whole-heartedly trusts them. She'd always be happy when they were around and would be able to kick her out of ill-moods almost instantaneously. If they aren't her family or someone she thinks of as family, then they have probably been with her a long time and have gained her trust over time (or, maybe they saved her life and gained her trust over a short period of time). Either way, she is very grateful and protective of her loved ones, willing to do anything to make sure they are happy and safe. When She Hates You: If the girl hates someone, she's not going to be anywhere near that person. If she knows they'll be somewhere, she'll stay away from that place like it would bring death upon her and her family. She wouldn't talk about them behind their back or badmouth them to their face, but rather, they would cease to exist in her world. They would be nothing but a bad superstition and she would go on as if nothing ever really happened. However, in a situation where the person she hates confronts her and won't leave her alone, she may become very angry and seek out a way to scare them off or force them to leave her alone. When She's Indifferent/Doesn't Care About You: Actually, if she feels indifferent towards anyone or if she simply doesn't care about them, it doesn't manifest into anything that would point to her feeling that way. She nods her head while they talk, add her own bit into the conversation, and would even try to help others with their problems. If she feels this way towards a person, it's usually because she isn't very familiar with them or they fail to affect her life in any way. However, these people can easily sway her view of them in later encounters depending on how they interact with her. History: Once upon a time in a land far far away, there was a man who loved to travel. For many years, he did this, enjoying new and exotic places that others only dreamed to visit; however, one day, he decided he wanted a wife. It didn't take long for him to meet with a wonderful, talented woman from one of the beautiful countries he travelled to. Wanting to settle down and maybe even start a family, he took her to the United States, where he was born. Soon, the Italian man and Japanese woman married, spending the next few days on a honeymoon doing things that...well...grown ups do when they're married. From that night, nothing in their lives would ever be the same. Essie was a June baby, born in 1994 with two very loving parents. Although the two of them would admit they weren't ready for children, they decided to keep her anyway, ready to take responsibilities for the deed they had done. Raising Estralia was starting to look extremely easy with the way she would drink milk and then fall fast asleep, not bothering to whine and cry until something made her uncomfortable. In fact, when Essie turned three, her two parents decided to make her a sister or brother to play with. It was around this time that Estralia's right eye began to trouble her, becoming easily irritated and bloodshot 90% of the time. Her father and now-pregnant-mother tried everything they could to soothe her including taking her to the eye doctor. Nothing seemed to work and the symptoms kept getting worse and worse until, eventually, Essie couldn't sleep at night. One of the eye doctors suggested wearing an eyepatch to keep irritants from worsening symptoms. No one was in a position to argue with his suggestion and immediately fitted her to a comfortable white patch. The next few days, symptoms lessened until the day it stopped bothering her altogether. To be safe, before removing the eyepatch, they took her back to the optometrist for guidance and reassurance. As the patch was removed, her right eye fluttered open revealing a fiery red iris. A long pause and several examinations later and she was sent home until further tests could be made. For the time being, nothing appeared to be wrong despite the drastic change in color. After the eyepatch was removed, nothing seemed to go anyone's way around the house. After the house was robbed and the car was stolen, her father had lost his job and her optometrist was never heard from again. The babysitter that came occassionally had fallen from a ladder and broken her arm and her mother had become ill. The only one not effected by this unlucky streak was Estralia herself who was in fine health. A month or two later, and any hope for Estralia becoming a big sister was shattered as her mother suffered through a miscarriage. By the time she turned four, her mother passed away due to illness. Essie, on her own, began to cover her right eye again and would keep it covered for a very long time afterward due to guilt of her mother's death. Her grave would be covered in Hydrangea flowers, of which Essie was very fond of. In fact, she liked them so much, she would take a few home with her to decorate her windowsill. At times, she would take four or five and by the end of the night, they seemed to multiply making her exceptionally happy. Showing her father made him a bit uneasy although he supported her and her tiny talent. After all, she was all he had left. The next few years came and went like the wind and before his very eyes, Essie was growing bigger and bigger. Elementary school had been a very tough time for Essie; although she did great with classwork, she made little progress with friends. Most everyone questioned her eyepatch and made fun of her for being a little different. Yet, she struggled through these years with hope for a better future. As time passed and her illusionary abilities showed more and more, her father became more and more restless and protective over Essie, almost ordering her not to mingle too comfortably with the outside world (not that she would have been more social if he hadn't been overly protective). Still, his own curiosity got the best of him and he started on a mission to help her evolve even more than she already had. By 2005, he had gotten her books, artifacts, different equipment, and even enchanted weapons for her to experiment with. Out of these items, she fell in love with a beautiful trident of conjuration which came with a message saying 'Let Your Wildest Dreams Come True'. This trident would later become her favorite and most prized possession. Still, she kept her secrets away from other people and shared them only with her father who kept her paranoid of the things the world would do if her abilities were ever exposed. Despite her obedience, she never believed a word he said about how cruel the world would be towards people like her. Of course, Father knew best. In 2007, Evo's Dawn had left its mark on the world. At first, there was talk and then, there was fear. Essie's father pulled her out of school, fearing something dreadful was about to happen. Odd situations started to surface as children held the power of the world in their hands. Thirteen year old Estralia Mallaen felt for the first time that she was not alone, and at the same time, she felt more lonely than she did before. Horrifying stories and punishments reached her father and he decided it was best to move to Japan with relatives of his deceased wife. Travel was severely difficult during the time but miraculously, they made it unscathed. Estralia was welcomed into the house of her aunts and was accepted warmly into their arms. For months, they allowed her to remain quiet and isolated from them in the room they provided for her, but eventually, they began to pry. Out of fear, her father objected to their questioning, however his daughter was tired of hiding and slowly began to reveal herself to them. If anything, they seemed to pity her for it and caved to any desires she had as a teenage girl. At the age of fifteen, when home schooling was as boring as dirt, she decided she wanted to go to an actual school. School: Azura Designation/Primary Magic Principle: Essie's power designation could simply be noted as illusionary; however, her right eye and her trident grant her abilities outside of illusions. Her right eye, when exposed, holds the ability to manipulate probability in certain ways and her trident has conjuration abilities. Magic Spells/Special Abilities: ::Illusion:: ~Multiplicity~: This ability allows Essie to make one object appear as if there are many objects. For instance, if there was one apple on the table, she can make others see ten apples. She can only do this if the object is within three feet of her and she has trouble using this ability to make large objects seem of greater quantity. For the time being, anything larger than a lamp gives her trouble. The resulting quanitity after this illusion depends on the beginning quantity. She can make the quantity appear quadrupled in her illusions causing one apple to appear as four or four to appear as sixteen. Although more of the object appears, all of the duplicates are illusions and trick another person's sense of sight. Once the person genuinely realizes they don't exist (which can be done simply by attempting to touch the objects), the illusion fails to remain. ::Right Eye - Probability Manipulation:: (Any power attributed to her right eye is only capable of working when it is exposed.) ~Jinx~: If anyone makes direct eye contact with Essie for more than ten seconds, a future task they attempt will have a bad or undesirable outcome. She has no control over what will happen and only is aware of the fact that something will go wrong. (For the most part, the effects this ability has on others and when this effect will take place is determined by the player who owns the effected character; however, the longer it takes for a task to become jinxed, the worse the effect will be). ::Trident - Conjuration:: (Any power attributed to her trident can only be used when/while the trident is in her hands at the time.) ~Moochers~: Essie can summon tiny monsters from her imagination called Moochers. She can conjure twenty Moochers for no more than ten minutes at a time and no more than thirty minutes in an entire day. The fewer she conjures at a time, the longer she can keep them around. For instance, summoning only ten Moochers would allow them to stick around for twenty minutes and five Moochers could stay for thirty minutes; however, the daily time limit of thirty minutes can not be surpassed. After the lifetime of the Moochers passes, they explode or pop like a bubble, leaving a greenish residue on anything within a foot of them that will eventually disappear after five or ten minutes. The goop left behind does nothing except prove they were there and has no effect on anything or anyone. While in existence, they obey Essie and consider her their mother and goddess, willing to die to protect her despite their small size. However, once her trident leaves her hands, the majority of Moochers explode. One or two may stick around for the next two to three minutes but they would go insane, chewing up any material they happen to fly into rendering them useless to her. ![]() These little monsters weigh about three to four ounces, are only two inches tall and one inch wide with a soft and plushy exterior layer of skin. They have four rows of teeth with the top and bottom outermost layer containing only two long fangs each while the two innermost layers contain tiny, yet extremely durable, razor sharp teeth. Behind the layers of teeth lies a red eye-like structure that is very firm and aids in their ability to sense the environment around them. Although they do appear to have legs and arms, they travel using their telekinetic flying ability. Moochers are Demolition Monsters, tearing down obstacles in the way and eating the material for energy. Although they are very strong and can chew through wood, plastic, and cloth, they are unable to eat through anything that is harder than a sheet of metal that is a few milimeters thick. They also shy away from tearing into the flesh of animals and humans; however, if provoked and if their lives are in danger, Moochers will sink their four longest fangs into an enemy in response before quickly releasing them and making their escape. Training: -Essie knows a little bit of information about different types of poisons and dangerous chemicals. Her knowledge is nothing extraordinary and not extensive but is just an interesting fact. Inventory/Equipment: Trident: Her trident holds conjuration abilities, but as for appearance, it appears to be an ordinary trident. P.L.E.A.S.E.D.: Poly Linguistic Enlightenment And Service Extension Device This little device comes standard to all students enrolling at either AEA or AMTI. Using a combination of Bluetooth technology and a unique brand of communication magic, this little beauty will translate any known, human language into your native language as it's spoken with only a point-five second lag.
