The last remaining Eloc this side of the internet.

The Eighth Chamber in the Bushido Chambers was empty this morning. As was the pathway he took for his morning jog around the Murial Chambers. Also, his dorm was empty. The Eloc was nowhere to be found this morning. Even in the Cafe, where he usually got his protein shake every morning, his chair was empty. A simple sign was attached to the outside of his door, reading "Back Later Today." Vahn was at a place he would be seen at more and more often throughout the week, and even more often afterwards. Sanctis Alexandria. A table, pulled of into the corner, was stacked with books. Books about one thing, which might surprise everyone that knew him. Pyromancy. Already having a natural fired-based energy, this would be a little easier than the other varieties of magic, from what he had heard from various sources. Magic, however, didn't come naturally to Vahn, as he was a Evotelluric, and one from a religious family, at that. Books stacked upon books, new and old, about everything that had to do with the art of Pyromancy. He had about three different books open, and had a magic circle drawn on a piece of paper, as all the books had confirmed. It was a beginner's circle, and that was about as far as Vahn had gotten. He had since run into four different processes about what to do after the circle was drawn. He brought his hand to his head, and moaned to himself. He hadn't even studied this hard for mid-terms. Or anything for that matter. Yep, this was the hardest that the Eloc had ever studied for anything. He looked over two of his books before moaning silently again. Too prideful for asking directly for help, the Eloc rested for a minute by kicking back, throwing a leg up across the table as he sighed. "Sure, Vahn, pick the hardest thing to do," he ridiculed himself. |

Garmr wasn't in his room, nor in the cafe, nor in the woods, were he used to find his fresh breakfast. Actually, he spent the whole night in the library, sinking his eyes in anthropology books as well as druid arts. However, that wasn't everything. Books were stacked next to him, all about nature, wiccan arts, nature magic and such. After all, he was a druid himself. However, all this reading did no good to him. He buried his face in the anthropology books and fell asleep there, snoring very low, to the point that only one sharing his table would be disturbed. And he was in no corner table to begin, so there was an even higher possibility someone heard him. |

(ooc. This looks like fun. Mind if i join in ooc.) Eona hadn't spent much time in the library in fact she had merely browsed last time she was in there so she figured it was time to see if there were any good reads on the shelves something that would stimulate her brain and get her hoping for more information. She thought she had done this before briefly but it was just a tingling in her mind, a brief suggestion if you will. That is why Eona strode into the library then. The double doors swung closed behind her and she was awestruck for a moment taking in the sight and smell before her. The smell of books has no comparison to anything. the varying stages of paper decay or freshness was, magical. Eona took a deep breathe and walked in nodding the librarian as she passed. She found her way past the science books and towards the magical invocation section. The rows where chalk full of volumes and volumes of magical instruction. Water summoning, fire wielding, electricity control, and terromancy earth magic. Eona just wanted to look for the moment till she found a book that looked right. She had almost sixth sense for books. The right one seemed to sing to her. "Read me" it seemed to say. It was this that brought Eona to the table where Vahn sat pouring over books. "Hey Vahn, whatcha doing." She walked over and stood by the end of his table glancing at the books not wanting to intrude if he doing some private research. It was clear to her though that he was look up fire magic of some sort. Maybe she could help out a little. Who knows. Edited by samiam2714, Nov 2 2009, 08:23 PM.

The library, being quite silent and all, held the snoring sound every once in a while, along with the sound of books being brought back to the shelves and such. People walking around, people at home, people silently qorking on laptops, and then, people hitting their heads on the end of a table filled with books about magic. This last one described Vahn as Eona walked up to the table. Remembering her from the adventure in Eygpt, Vahn shot up, a piece of paper stuck to his forehead as he turned. "Oh, hello, Eon- excuse me," he said, ripping the piece of paper off quickly. "Hey, Eona. Nothing much, I was just looking up some stuff... like magic... of the fire variety," he explained. It was obvious he was a little tired as he spoke, getting words all ass-backwards and all. "And to no avail, I have learned to draw a circle on a piece of paper and put six lines through it," he jokes, poking his circle he had drawn a little bit. After a moment of silence, maybe a cough echoing through the library, he spoke again. "Hey, do you know anything about magic? Like how to use it. I have a feeling that the whole "draw a circle and chant something" would take too long for practical uses." |

The Life-Freezing Wolf

Garmr woke up in a jump, saying to himself "I'm awake, mom! No need to drip cold water on my fa- Oh? I guess I slept while reading...". His eyes went back to the anthropology book. "I found it!" he whispered to himself "The information regarding my clan, the information I needed!". Then he whispers himself the lines as he reads them: Vidarr Clan: In the search for the local werewolf clan, I found this clan of druids capable of merging with animals and assuming an in-between shape. They are peacefull, living in perfect synch with nature, limiting themselves to white arms and old-fashioned ranged weapons, such as bow and arrows, slingshots and javelins. Their crafting abilities, along with the ability to find and handle medicinal herbs, is amazing, superior to the modern laboratories if you take in consideration their limited resources. The clan's leader is aware of the nearby werewolf clan and told me that they are friendly, but that I should not approach their territory unannounced. In my stay in this village, I learned minor tricks about hunting and cooking, as well as the meanning of their tattoo: The crescent moon represents the completion of their training. To make the tattoo they use a heated ink and a ritual, which I was forbid to mention. Wonderfull people, they are... I wonder if they're cousin to wood elves. |

"Um yeah I do, well at least thats what they call what i do. Why don't you draw the circle in your head. I thought you needed a pentacle for this type of magic though. but if it is a circle like this you need try drawing it inside your head and then access your... um well I call it chakra some call it chi others will and even still other call it power. So if that is the case then maybe try it that way. Though I don't think around paper is the place to test this kind of thing out." She rambled off for a while and stopped when she thought she had gotten her point across. "So why are you learning to use fire magic any ways? I would thing wind of earth magic might be more useful. More versatile at least." She pondered this for a moment maybe she shouldn't have said anything about the fire. after it was what he wanted to do so support would be the right thing to do. "I guess its none of my business though." She pulled a chair out and sat down. For some reason she wanted to stay and help him with this even if she had little expertise in that area. |

"-which I was forbid to mention. Wonderful people, they are... I wonder if they're cousin to wood elves." Vahn heard someone loudly whispering to himself as the Eloc looked up to see who it was. Couldn't he just read to himself? It was actually quite distracting, especially when a fighter like Vahn was trying to learn magic- pyromancy, more specifically, in a room full of flammable books and wooden shelves... Um... Yeah, I do," Eona started. "Well, at least that's what they call what I do. Why don't you draw the circle in your head?" she asked Vahn, who hadn't thought about it that way. "I gu-" Vahn started as it was cut off by Eona continuing. "I thought you needed a pentacle for this type of magic, though. But if it's a circle like this, you need to try drawing it inside your head and then access your-" She had paused for a moment to think aloud. "Well, I call it chakra; some call it chi, others- will, and even still, some call it power. So if that's the case, then maybe try it that way- though I don't think around paper is the place to test this kind of thing out." Eona had gone into a sort of rambling as Vahn flipped the pages in several of the books. "I guess I could try it that way," Vahn stated as he looked at something real quick. "I call it chi, personally," he explained. As he was looking through the book, Eona started talking again. "So, why are you learning to use fire magic anyways? I would think that wind or earth magic might be more useful. More versatile, at least." She looked like she was pondering for a moment as Vahn had seen in the corner of his eye. He smirked a little at this. "I guess it's none of my business, though," she said, pulling out a chair and sitting down to join the Eloc. She was staying, obviously. "Well, I've asked every single teacher and assistant I could openly talk to," Vahn started, "and they all agreed on one thing." He paused for a moment before continuing, flipping a page. "That one thing was that because of my aura, and my chakra, of sorts, pyromancy is the only thing that I could use, or that it would be more natural and easier for me to use, apparently. Though I do agree with you on one thing-" he looked up. "I don't think I should be practicing in here, but they definitely wouldn't let me check out this many books," he said to her, chuckling a little bit. "Truthfully, I would rather do this outside, especially since some people don't know how to read to themselves," he said, secretly pointing over to the other kid in his area. "He's actually starting to annoy me..." |

The conversation drew Garmr's attention, who fixed his eyes on the two and focused into listening to what they talked about. He had nothing to say now, as he pushed the book aside and closed it with a low thud. He was curious of their conversation. |

Eona hadn't herd the boy reading aloud. In fact she had been concentrating on the conversation matter so thoroughly that she had ignored outside stimulus entirely. This conversation was quite interesting however. It began to bring back some hints or inklings of thing she had known about. Her Chakra was aimed toward earth and wind elements. "Fire is totally out of my scope," She said looking toward the other boy reading out loud to himself. "He's actually starting to annoy me..." "Hey read in your head or come and talk with us if you want in on the conversation. It's not a state secret." She would never have said anything like that if Vahn wasn't there. He agreed with the word she spoke before she even said them by the way he glared and pointed. Eona turned and smiled back at him. "Do you think together we could check out enough books. The limit it ten I thought right?" She began counting the books on the table. "Um i think we need another set of arms if you want to take them all out. Or we can just read and memorize. That is if you have a photo graphic memory." Then she wished she could just scan all the books they would need into a computer or something and take them with them. Leave the flammable pieces behind. Alas the electronic equipment would likely fail if they began flinging energy around. She wondered what her blood line magic had been where they all like her. Oriented towards Air and earth chakra. She was quite good at Air and her earth magic was something to be desired but she was getting better all the time. Unfortunately There was no one in her family here to teach her what she lost so she would just muddle through. That was what she had come to the library to find in the first place. During this inner questioning she had gotten a vague look on her face. Before uncrossing her eyes and focusing on the matter at hand once again. |

"Luckily, all these books aren't library. That pile," the Eloc pointed over to the pile on the far side of the pile, where about eight books were stacked on the far edge. "I've already read through. It's all about basics and such. And that pile, is all other stuff, like basics that was repeated through those eight," Vahn explained. It was obvious that the Eloc was actually serious about learning pyromancy, and the fact the amount of books showed that he had been here longer than first thought. "It would be better going outside and all," Vahn claimed. "You okay, Eona?" he asked, realizing she was zoning out about something, with the vague look on her face and all. |

Her eyes got big as he pointed out the various books he had read and summed them up for her. She was getting tired just thinking about reading that many books. "You okay, Eona?" "Oh sorry Vahn I was just thinking. Nothing important. You sure are serious about this aren't you. Are there any other fire wielders on campus that could possible help more than me? I may use magic but it is out of my element. Literally." She was slightly apprehensive about going out and helping someone learn the control fire. In fact she was bordering on scared. Mostly because burns hurt. More than any other injury. She leaned back rubbed her hands together and looked around. "Hey that kid is gone I wonder what he was looking for. Did we scare him off?" "Well," Vahn started. "We could just print all of them off by scanning the pages I needed, right?" he suggested. "That way we wouldn't have to carry a massive amount of books around, and I could just get the information that I need," he pondered aloud. She spoke, as she asked about other pyromancers around campus that could possibly help him in this study, and Vahn could understand why. Fire. It was scary if not controlled right. It could do so much, as Vahn remembered from his past. Fire causes damage, and that's about it. It burns down, and devours, like a mindless beast, not caring about what it eats, what it claims, what it consumes. He stared off, wondering if he really wanted to do this. Did he really want to follow through with this part of his training? He had to. To show he had mastery over himself in all forms, to push himself just that much further. Being able to control the untouchable would definitely be a worth-while feat, and it would be one Vahn would see through to the end. "Hey, that kid's gone," Eona pointed out as Vahn looked over to the kids table, which was now empty. "Wonder if he found what he was looking for? Think we scared him off?" "Maybe," Vahn joked around a little bit. "Do I really look that scary?" he asked Eona as a joke, showing an intimidating face with a funny twitch underneath the left eye. "But on a more serious note," he said, sighing, "I know fire isn't to be messed around with, and also that magic isn't something to be played with as well. But I made a promise to myself to be my personal best at every aspect of my life, which for the longest time, I thought was fighting. Then Evo's Dawn happened," he spoke, truthfully for a moment as he looked across the library for a moment. "Since the last, even just months that I've been here, I've been all around the world, I've learned so much, and that there is so much more to something than just a physical being, even more than whatever Evolution I was talented with," the Eloc spoke. "This magic represents the side of me that's unknown," he said. "I want to know it, so I can protect the people I've met," he finished his explanation. |

(ooc. Ok really short post sorry ooc.) "That will be awesome, not having to lug the entire load of books." She was quite relieved. Having taken up this new interest had nudged the other reason she had come to the library from he mind and she didn't mind at all. Helping a friend who had helped her was a blessing. "No I don't think you look scary," She was telling the truth people don't scare her usually. Except for those trying to kill her use her for evil plots and mostly just those trying to kill her. Yup that covered it. "Ok lets gather these and head to the copy machine." She picked up a couple of books hoping they where ones they needed she looked at him once more smiling. This, she thought would be fun. |

"No, I don't think you look scary," Eona replied as Vahn thought about it for a second. The only time he looked scary was when he was dressed in all of his black uniform. That, the last time he had worn it, actually scared Vahn a little bit. More of a thing that he couldn't recognize himself, really, but anyways, back to the matter at hand. Vahn looked at all the books and sighed. "You know?" he asked. "Even though we don't have to carry these all over campus," he started, "we still have to carry these to the copier," he joked, itching the back of his head before picking up the rest of the books he needed, about twelve, thanks to his Enhanced Strength. Better to be save than sorry. "Now... which way was that copier?" he asked himself, before seeing a convenient sign a little bit away. "Okay, this way," he took the lead as he waddled through other tables and such. It looked kind of goofy, really, dodging other people carrying twelve books. He was doing well, until the stairs came up, and Vahn couldn't see them. |

Where are you planning to practice. She asked lugging the couple of books she had grabbed. The copier was over in that direction but before she could point it out Vahn found it. So she walked with him in that general direction. Wonder how long it will actually taken for him to grasp this power or spell or what ever it is. She was generally curious. It took her about a months to get the walking on trees thing down and two moths to get the air walking thing down. "Vahn the s......." Eona was too late the stairs where to close when she started to speak. (ooc. sorry Vahn this is my worst post to date ooc.) Edited by samiam2714, Dec 5 2009, 11:48 PM.

"Huh?" Was the reaction that Vahn gave before his foot slipped, and the books rained from the skies. He hit the ground first as he rolled. The Eloc re-balanced himself to his feet, but not before the books came down. He dodged the first couple, then put his hands over his head. Books poured on him as he grunted. After the books had been done raining, the Eloc looked around. Everyone was looking at him now, but none moved to help. "Just... you know... the copier," he said nervously before shooting down, grabbing up his books and setting them up on the closest table to himself. "If any of that hit you, I'm sorry," Vahn apologized to Eona as he picked up another book. Various books and such were on the floor, and Vahn was picking them up. A book stood out. It wasn't labeled, and it was leather-bound and old. It must've been in the pile somewhere, but the Eloc picked it up the fastest, and set it under a book. Hopefully, please, no one would notice it. He didn't need to be asked what that book was. |
