Student Template Version 2.1 Student Name: Lore Lécuyer Gender: Male Age: 14 (Birthday: December 12th, 1994) Race: Human Physical Appearance: Lore is a generally normal looking human. He is 5'4" tall, still having to really hit another growth spurt since his original one from hitting puberty, with light brown hair that reaches down to his shoulders and is usually pulled back in to a ponytail. It's condition depends on how much he wants to fiddle with his hair. Sometimes it is a royal mess and sometimes it is perfectly straight, it all depends. He has dull blue eyes that can almost be said to be gray and wears a set of thin rimmed glasses over them, being nearsighted. He is of a rather slight build, being able to be easily thrown over the shoulder of a generally fit human with little ease, making him seem to be even smaller than he actually is. He is so skinny that in fact he sometimes causes concern to motherly types. His facial structure, for now, is very childlike. His mother has a very feminine, round face and large eyes while his father has a very masculine, angular face with a brow to match, and he is in the middle, most likely to be retaining some of his mother's grace in his face while inheriting more of his father's looks as he passes more and more through puberty. He definitely would not be mistaken for a woman by his face at all currently, but without facial hair he could definitely, given a bit of prep time, be called pretty over handsome. The word usually used is cute, but that is also because of the aura he seems to exude. His usual two styles of clothing are almost the antithesis of one another. Sometimes he wears preppy, dress clothing that his grandmother prefers, such as polos and button up shirts along with khaki pants and other refined pieces. This can range from sweater vests to sports coats. On the other hand, he can also be found in t-shirts and jeans, a fashion statement that his mother was more fond of (which she kept well hidden from her own mother). Something that is of his own choosing is that he usually adorns his hair with ribbons and ornaments, such as clips, just because he likes how they look. Either way, it depends completely on what he is feeling like at the time. Personality Lore is a rather open, happy individual in many senses. While he was raised to be very refined and noble, that never really stuck with him. He can put up the front given the need, but when he doesn't need to, he definitely chooses not to. He laughs, smiles and is generally cheerful as often as he can be, and it is rare to find him down. He loves other people and tries his best to make other people happy and cheer them up. He is the kind who will go up to a random stranger and start talking to them to try and make them feel better if they look down. He is very active, choosing to be outside more than inside most of the time and if there is a tree, you will find him most likely trying to climb it. He seems to be very childlike in general due to all of these traits, even though he is already almost 15 years old. He is very honest and to the point due to all of this. He will say what he means and mean what he says, even at the cost of being less than tactful. It is his personal wish that people would say what they meant more often because he has seen a lot of things go very horribly wrong just because people were, as he puts it, too much of cowards to actually say what they meant. He is not a fan of the game of dancing around meanings and reading in to what people say. He takes people at face value and tries to accept them, even if he doesn't understand them at all. Unfortunately, due to this, he can be overly trusting, which can lead him to be used by those who do not have pure motives in getting to know him. He has been lucky so far, but that can be very dangerous. He is also exceedingly sensitive and takes what people say very seriously. So, if you were to chastise him, he would most likely sulk for a while, feeling very bad about causing people trouble. He also tends to misinterpret things readily, not really understanding where people are coming from. So, if it is 'commonly' understood that taking someone back to your room equates to being interested and wanting sex, to him it just means they want to hang out and possibly have something cool in their room or just want to feel more comfortable. So, for all of his training in manners, certain things slip right over his head. Lore is a huge fan of creative outlets. Reading, writing, drawing, he loves all of them, even if he isn't a very good writer. As an artist, he is above his current age group for the most part, but that is just because of years of practice. He feels as though creative outlets are the way to truly express who you are, and tries to understand how everyone else expresses themselves. He also loves the outdoors and plants, so he has tried his hand at gardening before, but only briefly as his grandmother stopped him from playing around in the dirt almost immediately. It is a secret, but he has a definite pathos when it comes to murky waters. He will refuse to jump in to them, knowing full well that he can not know what is within them. He is not a fan of water monsters, especially not serpents, and while he can deal with land snakes of the non-poisonous variety, if he does not know what it is, he will be most likely afraid of it. He is not a fan of being alone or in the dark either, leading him to almost always have a flashlight on him at all times, just in case. Add this all together and he is rather easily spooked and rather flighty at times. History: Lore Lécuyer is the son of Aurore Lécuyer and Owen Reinard. Owen was born in Britain, following a long line of magi who practiced their art in secrecy. Due to this, Owen’s own powers were weak, simply due to non-use and dilution. Owen was not surprised by this, having been explained this all by his father, and focused on living a normal life as a regular human being, his past kept a secret for most of his life and he using it only as a way to release the magical energies inside of him. This did not bother him, as the power he had was minimal at best. So he became a consultant, traveling on a regular basis. It was through one of his travels that he met Aurore Lécuyer. Aurore was a young woman born of an ancient noble family that had long since removed itself from the influence of French politics, their name having little to no meaning anymore and the family not really caring. They usually kept to themselves in their house in the mountains of the Ardennes, not really communicating with the outside world beyond the small town that they lived nearby. They wished to live in peace and in peace they did live. It was during one of the few parties that they went to when invited that Aurore and Own met. Owen had a friend who was one of the hosts of the party, so had been invited, and when he met Aurore, there was an attraction so strong that neither could resist its pull. The two quickly became close friends and then even more, much to the annoyance of the Lécuyer household. Aurore was the first person outside of his family that Owen told about his magical abilities and she was not frightened in the least, but rather delighted. In fact, it was said that her own ancestors were powerful witches, however the power had long since faded in to a myth. The two became inseparable, however Aurore forbade Owen from quitting his job for her, as he loved it with a fiery passion. It was obvious the two were in love and it soon became accepted among both families. When it was announced that they were to be married, Aurore’s mother agreed under one stipulation, that Owen would take the Lécuyer name. Owen had no qualms, and soon the two were happily wed. A few years later, they had their child, who they named Lore. Lore lived within the Lécuyer household, Owen coming as often as he could from his job to see his family. From as far as Owen could tell, Lore had not inherited his powers, perhaps the dilution finally wiping out the magical bloodline they once had. So Lore was raised to be a normal child. Lore lived a very normal life. From a young age he was immersed in culture, art and the other fine things that any Lécuyer should know. Heavily influenced by his grandmother, he was bred to be a perfect gentleman, yet Aurore’s careful mothering (including spoiling him and introducing him to things such as 'pop-culture', all of which allowed the wild child woman to imbue her personality in to her soon) allowed him to retain the life of a normal child as well. She refused to let her mother force her child in to homeschooling, but rather sending him off to normal school. This continued until he was 10, upon which one day he was beset upon by a horrible fever. The doctors they had could not treat the poor child, and he was left to face possible death. Owen, beset with worry, consulted his own father about it, and no sooner had he heard about it did Owen’s father rush to France to see his grandson. Knowing what was happening, he was able to keep the boy alive through the fever, as it was what could be called a magical backlash. It turned out that the Lécuyer and Reinard blood mixed in such a way that the original power of the Reinard that had been waning for so long had returned with a passion, leaving a poor child to suffer its rebirth. The wonderful side effect was that the waning power of the Reinard was now back in full force within the child, a malleable wellspring of resource. Owen was quick to teach him a way to use the magic over the next three years, having the child study the basics of magic that he knew himself. He soon learned the use of spell circles and it seemed like he would live the same life of his father, his powers simply used sparingly as a way to keep himself healthy. While Owen's father wanted Lore to take up magical research, Owen would rather Lore live a normal life if he could, too many people hating what they did not understand. Aurore agreed. However this changed in the year 00 ADE. With the Evos Dawn, Lore’s life changed completely. His paternal grandfather, having still connections with the magi of Britain, soon began to work alongside the Order of the Red Claw in order to stabilize the danger that was occurring. Owen soon joined him with what little magical ability he possessed. Neither were huge proponents, but their professions and abilities proved useful. Aurore, her mother and Lore all stayed behind in France, isolating themselves to the house, removing themselves from the world so as to stay protected. With Lore's power, a single slip up and they could lose their precious child. They stayed there for an entire year, just the three of them alone, completely sealed off. This was mostly done to protect Lore, both his mother and grandmother fearing that he too would be taken as a creature that was needed to be destroyed. While it was a good life, it soon began to take a toll on the young boy, and soon he began to long for life outside of his home. Both Aurore and Owen saw this, saw their son wasting away, his life dwindling, even in its prime. It was during this time that Owen suggested that Lore be moved to attend the Avalon Magic and Technology Institute. Owen’s father had suggested it at first, acknowledging that his grandson was easily more powerful than his father and grandfather and had potential to be useful in this new world in a way that he could not have been before. Aurore and her mother were cautious, but in the end Lore’s enthusiasm to the idea (which would have been shared to any idea which got him out of that area) had his bags packed and he was sent off. Aurore and Owen hoped that it would lead their son to live a happier, healthier life, and that he could become whatever he wished to be. Edited by SafiMoyo, Nov 4 2009, 01:21 PM.

Make Love, not War! (Phasma!)

School: Avalon Primary Magic Principle: Ice Element Spell Circle Summoning Magic Origin Art – Spell Circle Of the various Origin Arts, the Spell Circle is said to be one of the most arcane. Unlike other magic, in order for Spell Circle magic to be summoned, an intricate circle design must be drawn out, depending on the spell, leaving it to be exceedingly slow compared to others that require little to no time to conjure. However, it is more powerful due to that, a combination of conjuring and summoning. For most beginners, the drawing must be done on the ground or some other media. These must be physically drawn out in some way, such as through pencil, charcoal, or even being drawn in the dirt or with blood (though using blood, much against popular belief, does not make a more powerful spell). Later on, practitioners can use their own magic as a medium for drawing. As a practitioner gets more advanced, they can use the very air mixed with magic itself or even simply use the motions themselves to create a spell circle in their mind that manifests in to the real world. However, the more shortcuts used, the less powerful the spell, and in fact the way used by beginners is the most powerful. The spell circle, once completed, has the power to be unleashed at the user’s will, thus this Origin Art being known for a focus on delayed release tactics. The stronger the practitioner, the longer a spell circle can be held. When a circle is created, it will glow to show completion and then dim down, but still glow slightly. Stronger users can cause this glow to become non-existent, but it requires concentration. Lore’s current level forces him to draw out his spell circles with some sort of non-magical medium and he has to activate them within five seconds of their creation or else the spell will be lost. He cannot stop the illumination of his circles, so they glow brightly when being activated. He also cannot activate more than one circle any given time period. His normal way of summoning involves either transcribing the circle in to the dirt or on to a piece of paper. Magic Spells/Special Abilities: Spell Circle – Frost Creation The very first circle that Lore learned. This is a very simply circle that has a simple diamond design in it, the size of the circle being possibly as small as the palm of your hand. However, the size of the diamond in the circle dictates the size of the item created. Upon creation, the circle materializes basic ice magic that crystallizes water in the environment around the circle in a 2 meter radius in to the form of the user’s choosing. If there is not enough water, an item cannot be created. The user places their hand on the circle and as they draw it up, the item seems to be drawn out of the ground, but is simply being created at the point of the circle, bit by bit. The circle is easy to create itself, only taking a few seconds to draw out; however the concentration required to create the weaponry is high, as once the magic has started, the magi must create the form in their mind as it is being created from the circle. This does not only include appearance but form as well, so to create a dense, more powerful item, the user must focus much more on the bonds. Lore’s current limits are creating items that items that are the length of his forearm and of moderate complexity, such as a blade, take a good minute of concentration to create. The simpler the item, the less time it takes him. They are not very strong at all and a few good strikes could easily crack or break the items, and against a hard surface (such as a metal weapon), they would break very easily. However, due to the basic nature of this spell, he can do it a large amount of times in a single day without using up much of his magical energy at all, even if it is a pretty slow spell. He can also only make one item at a time, regardless of the complexity. Spell Circle – Ice Field Summoning This spell circle is a basic form of any ice magi of Lore’s family. The circle’s design is an 8 point start with various other patterns inscribed around the edge of the circle and within the circle, making the circle one that takes quite some time to create simply due to detail needed. However, once the circle is made, no further effort is needed, as the spell continues itself without guidance. This circle does not focus on conversion but rather creating a tie between two points in reality and bridging them, bringing water to the current location from another place and then freezing it. The water summoned is pure water, so freezes relatively easily. The amount of water/ice brought forth does not only depend on the power of the user but the size of the circle. The more time spent on making a larger circle, the more water/ice that can be summoned. Lore can choose whether the water summoned is frozen in to ice or not, however it only freezes the summoned water, not surrounding water, and it takes a few seconds for it to freeze over. Lore can currently summon up a centimeter thick worth of water/ice over the area of the spell circle itself, creating a very thin circular patch of water/ice. While this might not be much, the amount of magical energy required for it is extremely high even with only a small amount of water/ice, due to it being summoning magic and that being highly complicated and powerful magic. Thus, he can only use it once every 24 hours and is usually tired afterward. This can lead him to easily pass out if he draws a large enough circle. The spell circle itself takes him a good amount of time to finish due to the intricate patterning needed for the powerful magic. His maximum is five feet in size before the effects can lead to severe exhaustion or more. Spell Circle – Ice Wall Summoning An emergency spell circle that is taught as a way to defend but only to be used in the most dangerous of circumstances. Unlike other spell circles, there is no intricate design involved, only a simple circle drawn and then a quick line thrown from one side to the other, breaking through the circle. This causes a wall of ice to erupt from the circle in an attempt to defend the user. The reason that this circle is so dangerous is due to the simplicity of it. As the circle itself is not being used as a medium for most of the magical transfer, the user’s mind becomes the medium along with their willpower and it drains not only a large amount of magical energy but a large amount of mental energy as well. This circle focuses mainly on speedy defense rather than convenience. Lore can currently summon a wall that is two inches thick and that is six feet tall and at maximum six feet wide, and that is when he is in semi-good condition. The more fatigued he is, the smaller the wall will be. Use of this at any time will leave him physically and mentally exhausted to the point of collapse with a crippling headache. If he is tired enough, it will simply knock him out for a good few hours after experiencing excruciating pain throughout his entire body as his body tries to fix itself. If he attempted to push himself in this state, it could actually do permanent damage to his body and mind due to the stress. This is a last resort defense mechanism. The amount of magical energy used takes a full 24 hours to recharge after use, so he will be at least slightly fatigued for at least a day afterward as his magic recharges. Training: French/English Bi-lingual – A French mother and an English father gave Lore the burden of having to learn two languages from birth, however as he has been using them since his first day alive, he is completely bi-lingual. Intermediate Art Training – Aurore had Lore take art lessons from an early age, and while he still has much to learn, the basics are there. He could draw a basic portrait of someone, given enough time, and have only basic flaws in the actual picture itself, yet it would still lack both in the compositional sense and with more advanced things such as proper shading. Basic Violin Training - In an attempt to further culture Lore, his grandmother had him take up the violin. He knows the basics but is not very good at it. He can play music, it just takes some time and practice on his part. Basic Magical Theory Training - Lore's father taught him the basics of Magical theory which allows him to use the spell circle magic his family is known for. However he was not given advanced training in the subject and simply knows the very basics. Inventory/Equipment: Leather Gloves - Very good quality black leather gloves with his family seal inscribed on the back of them in blue and white. The insides are lined with a thick fabric that helps retain heat and the outsides are made so as to reduce the movement limitations of gloves. These are usually worn during he making spell circles so as to prevent frostbite. Art Supplies - Both used for fun and for his spells, Lore usually has a small kit of art supplies with him at all times, containing things such as pencils, pens, charcoal, ink, paintbrushes, paint and paper. These are almost always in his backpack, and even when he does not have his backpack, he usually has at least something or other in a pocket or two. P.L.E.A.S.E.D.: Poly Linguistic Enlightenment And Service Extension Device This little device comes standard to all students enrolling at either AEA or AMTI. Using a combination of Bluetooth technology and a unique brand of communication magic, this little beauty will translate any known, human language into your native language as it's spoken with only a point-five second lag. Aesthetically, it's either blue or red pending on your school colors and clips onto the ear as if a wireless cell phone accessory. Please enjoy your stay on the Twin Campus.
Ya, I just figured out that Lore's nearsightedness can and will be the death of him in real battle... So, I decided to not only fix that but try and make something useful out of it as well. So ya, I am curious if Lore could get these at some point. Compounded list of what they do/don't do: - Do not need to be removed - Don't notice them in your eyes, they don't slip or ever need to be replaced - Correct vision to 20/20 - Can change vision to near or far sighted temporarily (but only to normal human limits, no eagle eyes), but takes time to refocus - Prevents irritation by things such as dust and chemicals (think lab goggles in contact form) - Can be used to see underwater (even in pools or salt water) - Does not protect against larger assaults (sword to the eye, super strong chemicals, smoke) - Can be turned on and off - Changes eye color if needed Credit Tally Total: 3 Current Available Credit: 3 Referred by: Jake Credit History: Spoiler: click to toggle
