Halloween was coming, and really fast, and there was just a place where the wolf-boy hadn't been at yet... The Swamps. Apparently, the local legends said that the place was haunted, and thus the locals avoided it... at all costs. But Chad... No, he was the kind of guy that would go look for adventure, especially after discovering that haunted was often the synonym of other Evos.

But... To make things more interesting, Chad had decided to drag along a new friend, what with him being a magi... So yeah, after a good long chat, Chad had convinced Taisen to come along. He looked over the huge area, trees everywhere, this would be a nice place to talk without interruptions.

Yeah, fact was that Chad wanted to talk with Taisen, now that the other kid had got his fair share of rest they could end their talk... Problem was... How to start it? As he stepped into the moist, mildly cold lands of the swamp, Chad looked over his shoulder to Taisen. So... Remember we were talking about killing and whatnot... You said you hurt someone badly... Mind to tell me what happened? Chad finally asked, his curiosity overwhelming him as they slowly went into the place.

When Chad came knocking on his door, Taisen had already been up, he was still getting his room "situated" like he wanted it, and between class, sleep, and spending time trying to learn the layout of the school, he was progressing slowly...and of course, he was still waiting on certain things to be sent over from his parents...Instead of trying to carry everything over on his first day, he'd only brought some clothes, and bare essentials. But it had been a couple days, and he'd seen what he was going to need, and send home for it. Taisen was laying on the ground, working on sit ups when the knock came, and of course...It could only have been three people...Someone with a package for him, Chad, or Jordan. He couldn't think of anything else being sent, and he doubted Jordan was going to come around searching him out...So when he'd opened the door, and saw Chad there, he wasn't surprised at all.

Being invited to hang was awesome, and he looked forward to it. Getting invited to a haunted swamp...well that wasn't quite the adventure he was looking forward to...Taisen agreed none the less, if Chad was around it was probably safe anyways. But he decided to bring his backpack, and the metal bat again, the handle jutting out from the mostly closed zipper.

The trip was nice, and arriving in the swamps, Taisen almost wished he'd dressed more casual for once, instead of slacks, a pair of jeans would be real nice right about now...and his shoes...Oh well, then again maybe he just needed to grow up and stop complaining to much...inside his head at least. Getting a little dirty never hurt no one.

The air was cool, the weather was actually nice, not too cold to wear a coat, but not really warm either, it was about middle, a cool breeze kept him wired as it blew his hair, to which he reached up to fix right away. When Chad spoke, it was more than a simple breeze that ran a cold chill through his body, what he'd brought up, it was going back to that moment from a few days ago.

"Hmm. Yeah sure." He began by clearing his throat, just to make sure his voice wasn't shaky. "So, I'm sure you know how prejudice works..." Taisen so thoughtfully left out the part of how he himself was prejudice only a few months ago. "The area of magic I work in deals with spirits...Ghosts and what not if you will. I was hunting a spirit when I came across these guys, and some Evo's who were hiding out." He was taking steps a little more natural now, no longer worried too much about where he stepped, and if he got a little dirt on his shoes, it felt natural to talk like this, so he walked naturally.

"They were "obvious"...I remember one had a face like a lizard, complete with scales. They were hiding, and whoever they had been hiding from, had found them. I'm guessing they didn't want no "ugly muties" around." He recalled the word those guys had used at the time. "The others. They were helpless, they didn't WANT to be fighting you know? They were trying to show them that they were not violent, that they didn't eat babies, or feast on humans, like some of those damn tabloids printed." He remembered back to that time, the feeling that had overwhelmed him when he first fused with Izanagi.

"I stepped up to defend the guys. No one deserves a beating for being different. It's like back in the day when "normal" humans hated black people, hated Japanese people, hated the Germans. Just because we're different, or because SOME of our race has a bad reputation, we're all tagged as bad." He forgot for a moment, he was probably preaching to the choir, Chad probably knew this lesson better than he did. "So...I was sticking up for people who couldn't, and It was my first time fighting like that, for my life, and I lost control. Ever since then, every time I've summoned my spirit, I'm in control, it was...Battle lust I think, maybe. At least, that's what I try to blame it on, my courage landed me in a situation like that, but I made a rookie mistake. To stop someone, you don't have to try to kill them, do you?" It was a question he'd already answered for himself a long time ago.

His question was answered beyond any doubt, and yes, Chad knew quite well what he meant with racism, hadn't he'd been the target of it by his own foster father? Yeah, things sucked. But now that he knew this guy was specialized in spirits, he felt that coming to the swamp was that much better idea. Chad smiled softly, looking over to the distance before he turned to see Taisen again You know, I'd wish that was always true... But there're some cases where only killing will allow you to survive.

This could very well be interpreted as Chad talking about hunting, but no, that wasn't it. His words were meant towards humans, he had needed to kill before, because it was the only way to survive, because it was the only way that Miyo lived... He had needed to kill the Wendigo, because if it recovered, it would have killed many more too.

There's people out there... That will do everything the have to, to be sure that you die, that you suffer... As a reference, I can tell you that a few months ago, I got in a fight with some thugs that wanted my money... Things ended bad for both sides, but they escaped and I ended in the health labs. That had to be the first time he was in trouble... Well, in serious trouble at least, since he arrived Japan.

He stopped for a moment, and pulled his tank top up, showing the mark that the knife had left, it wasn't that notorious now, Mary Anne had done everything she could to erase all the marks from his skin... but some wouldn't be gone in a good while... The more resent ones, one shot on his abs and one near his shoulder. I thought things would be over after I arrived at the campus, but the thugs came back looking for me... Things lead to things, Miyo got involved and we ended in the dorms, three thugs looking to kill us... I had to hurt them to immobilize them, then the boss came and held Miyo hostage, he shot the heads of the other three... I had no choice but to kill him... And if I had to, I'd do it again... I don't feel remorse, because I had to defend my lil brother.

Chad explained, all the while showing the wounds he had attained, some, though fading already, looked to be on places that could have killed him for sure, if he hadn't someone caring for him like Mary Anne. He let out a sigh and allowed the tank top to cover his building figure, smiling softly to Taisen before he placed a hand on his shoulder. When you kill out of need, feel no remorse... There's people out there that can't stand us, that will try to kill us... Don't give 'em the pleasure of breaking down. He stated, starting to walk again for a few moments more.

So, before you arrived here and all that jazz... What was your life like? He asked, conscious of where this would lead, but nowadays, he wasn't afraid of his life before, it had died already, he wasn't in that hell anymore.

The ways Chad always made him feel, a mix of inferiority, with a touch of courage to push on. For Taisen, it was simple, he'd taken a single instance in his life, and was talking to someone who had experienced something so similar, but three, or four, maybe five times over! So whenever he thought of what he had been through compared to Chad, he felt inferior, like, why was he still crying about it while Chad was able to push on, which actually pissed him off just a bit, pushed him to become a little more sure of himself...Maybe in due time he'd become more like Chad, able to overcome his fears, and become a more brave person. He took Chad's words to heart, but it would be awhile before he could use them as his own truth, because one single event couldn't change the way he viewed things.

Yet, for the time being, he was able to push the remorse from his mind, and feel as if he'd done the right thing. Of course, he'd always known deep down it WAS the right thing, but he still felt that if he hadn't been so much of a rookie, he could have avoided killing anyone. While he got a look at Chad's barely visible scars, he rubbed at his own old wound, realizing that whoever had healed him...did a much better job of healing than a normal doctor.

He nodded, showing that he took Chad's words seriously, and he really did, but ones philosophy was hard to change overnight, but it was a lesson he would take to heart, and it would be something he would try to work on. The next question brought a smile to his face, and was something he didn't mind talking about so much...It was kinda his glory days.

"Let's see...Before I found out about all my magical powers and whatnot, I was a "normal" student in Japan. I grew up in a small suburban town with my parents, then we moved to a bigger city, so I'm both a country, and a city boy...I've had a taste of both, and know how to adapt to either scenario." He grinned as they kept walking, eventually catching up to Chad, and walking beside him, picking a dying leaf from a nearby branch, and slowly tearing small chunks from it, and letting the breeze carry them.

"In school, I had to keep my grades high for my sport club, and my dad would have killed me." He made the obvious joke, not knowing what Chad's life had been before. "But that wasn't the highlight of my life I guess. Ever since I was a kid, I've ALWAYS wanted to be a bro baseball player. So I was always working on that dream, day in and day out, when I wasn't at school, or sleeping, I was working on baseball. Last year, our team was in the finals in Japan, we went all the way man! Then we played against an American team over the summer." He left the part out about Minato, and his beating before the finals.

"Just as a sophomore in high school, and I was one of the top aces in Japan."
To be fair, Taisen was a little reluctant...Now that he was a registered Magi, someone was was KNOWN to be capable of using magical abilities, he could never play pro ball...There was no way in hell they wanted someone who COULD potentially be a cheater playing professional baseball. So he couldn't play normal baseball because people would think he might cheat, and he couldn't play anything like "Evotulleric" baseball leagues, because he actually WASN'T capable of "cheating". So it was a real bummer, to have his dream taken away by this "gift". But he didn't voice that, because he chose this path, and yeah, if it was live out his dream, or save those Evo's lives? He'd do it all the same.

Chad let out a sigh, it was good to hear that Taisen hadn't needed to kill more than once, that his life hadn't been a hell, because as much as some might be jealous, as some might find it cool to have a life of adventure, of danger and of drama... Chad knew better, he knew he'd exchange his past for the past of anyone else in the campus, because worse... only a few. Chad noticed though that Taisen was rubbing over that spot again... when they met and Chad showed him the guns, Taisen had rubbed that spot.

Count yourself lucky bro, some have had a pretty nasty past here... Chad said, though he didn't let much out... Because he didn't want to be pitied by his new friend. Honestly, Taisen was turning to be one of the best, if not the best, partner to talk, because they shared so much in common, and apparently Taisen found Chad to be an interesting person.

So, you were a star huh? Bet it hurt to lose it all due to the Dawn... It sucks you know... humans look at us, some with those day-dreamy expressions and say they'd like to have our power, others fear us because of that same power... And others hate us... but none of them can grasp how we feel, it's impossible for them to see that... While our power is interesting, perhaps helpful to have... It has a great toll on our lives Chad said, sure Taisen knew this already, but hey! Chad also had things he wanted to get out of his chest, and who better than Taisen to hear them?

He let out a sigh and smiled softly to Taisen You'll be popular for sure, and will have all the girls swooning over you... You're a natural leader and a naturally charismatic person... I'm kinda surprised you find me interesting at all when I'm in fact nowhere close to what you are and what you will be. Chad said... Oh yes, he was jealous, jealous because Taisen had had this past, and though he had lost it all, he knew that Taisen would have it all back in few weeks, perhaps not even weeks, perhaps days. Chad was hollow, he didn0t have dreams like Taisen...

Taisen nodded, he didn't doubt it at all, he hadn't seen too much since walking into "this world" and what not, after Evo's Dawn, but he'd seen the news, he's some some acts with his own two eyes. Counting himself lucky was one thing he never forgot to do, because despite all the hard work and effort he put into his life, he was still lucky that it had mostly worked out for him, at least, for a good while. Which was probably a reason Taisen was fairly empathetic on people cases...though he himself has had a small taste of disappointment, so he knows how not to lay it on so thick, while at the same time showing he cares. It always was hard having life crash down on you.

When Chad spoke about the bad luck of Evo's Dawn, and his fall from fame, Taisen grinned slightly, it really was nice having someone understand without having to explain it. Back home, what friends he had left didn't understand why he'd been so bummed out about having special abilities, they didn't KNOW what it was like to be hated for NO reason. Chad knew, he knew what life was like for Taisen, hell he was able to sympathize with his younger buddy, they were in similar boats, but it left Taisen wondering what happened to Chad prior to Evo's Dawn...It's something he would be sure to ask about sometime...But now just didn't seem like the right time, so he'd hold off for now.

"Yeah it's a bummer falling from grace. So far the only damn thing to happen to me since the Dawn was coming here. I...I don't mean to sound like a cry baby, I mean it's been hard for everyone I'm sure, I know I'm not the only one, but it still sucks." He dropped what was left of the leaf and pulled on the backpack straps, pulling the pack into a more comfortable position. "But yeah, coming to the twin campuses is kinda starting to turn things around. I've been...alone for months now, no one to talk to, and within my first week here, I've basically met the coolest guy around."

The next part though stopped Taisen in his tracks. It was...shock, anger, confusion...A mix of emotions ran through him, and spread like a wildfire, starting with his mental state, and pushing all the way to his physical apperance. He grinded his teeth before raising his voice. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" He dropped the backpack from his shoulders, letting it land in the moist ground, and just not caring.

"You!? Did you listen to what you just said? You're my...You're like my role model. I'm looking UP to you, because YOU'RE charismatic, YOU'RE the one who'se been leading me around. YOU have friends and family here."
Taisen took a couple steps forward, and turned around to face Chad. "Dude." He rubbed his head and let out a sigh. "I might have walked around the school for a month, not talking to anyone because I was honestly afraid that I was STILL a freak despite being SENT here. If it wasn't for you hanging out with me the other day, I might have locked myself in my room, only coming out to go to class." He crossed his arms over his chest, looking just slightly pissed off, yet at the same time, pleading Chad to "get it".

"I got to hang out with someone who knew EXACTLY what I was talking about. Hell we didn't NEED but a couple words between each other to understand what the other was saying. You're like me, we're both handsome as hell, we've been through some tough times, and I find it easy to talk to you. I like you because you're like me, but older, wiser, and just a better version." Another long winded speech from Tiasen, but dammit, at least THIS time it was important.

He'd be damned before he let his role model feel inferior.

Chad blushed, and really blushed a lot. Sure his friends told him he was a nice person and what not, his lovers told him they loved him... But this was new, to be a role model to someone he had just met a few days ago? Wow, speaking about ego boosters.

Really, was he that good? Chad sure felt not... He wasn't ugly and he knew that, but... Handsome as hell? Well, he tried to keep in good shape right? And charismatic? Well, he wasn't anti-social, and wasn't bitter albeit his past would have made most, if not all, become bitter with life... He sure was one overprotective friend and one of those persons that had their feelings up their sleeves all the time.

He had friends and family, the only family he wanted to have, and the only family he'd do everything, included giving his life up, to see happy... Perhaps it was linked to the fact that he was quite social. Then Taisen continued, explaining that meeting Chad meant he wouldn't have to spend the rest of his life in his dorm, Chad smiled softly, now... This did really wonders with the wolf-boy's ego.

Well, thanks you Taisen... I'm glad you look at me like a role model, but really, you place me too high. You were a star, and you're a leader, you've got all that's needed to success really... If I have friends and a family, is because I've been lucky, really lucky... You've been alone for a few months, so you know how it feels... Now imagine two years all by yourself. Chad explained, smiling warmly... He had to see back in time to remember, to see himself again in the forest all by himself.

I... really feel flattered by that bro... Chad said, still mild blushed, no one had been that straightforward with him, and heck, he even thought that Chad was handsome! Now this wasn't something he got told often by someone who wasn't his lovers. Guess you're right... But, I'm not over you, that's for sure... You're not just charismatic and handsome, you're a natural leader and damn lucky... I'm pretty sure people in the school will look up to you for help and friendship; and who knows? maybe one day you're coming back from a ride and you find a new kid at the entrance, and it happens to be a luckier version of yourself... Yes, he knew this could end poking at the curiosity of Taisen, but... Well, if he was going to be his role model, then he should know what Chad thought.

Cause if something I can say, is that you're lucky, I'd kill to have had all that you did... My past sucked, so being here, finding someone like you and getting along so well... Is heaven for me. I swear it Taisen, couldn't have found a better person to be my friend. And he meant it, sure Chad was stronger, older and perhaps a bit wiser, but Taisen, the kid was potential in a package... The wolf-boy could already see Taisen surrounded by all the girls and guys, having lots of friends and what not... And there's where something that Chad feared kicked in.

Just... When you get popular and have all the friends and girls you could have... Don't forget about me... He muttered this last phrase, it wasn't something many would hear coming out of Chad's lips... But he truly hopped that Taisen also understood this one.

Taisen rubbed at his forehead and sighed slightly, not quite a headache...But Chad was an interesting person...He was after all, used to being one of the most popular kids (if not THE) in school, so usually when he told someone something, they just smiled, and got an ego boost, he rarely had to convince anyone of anything. Not having that "power" was sort of a drag. "I dunno man, just don't sell yourself short okay? I've had it pretty easy for most of my life, you haven't. That's why you're the one who can transform into a big ass wolf, and have a couple active powers, ones that you can use to protect yourself, and other people. You've faced hardships, and you're being paid back in spades by being strong. I've had it easy, and I'm pathetic in a fight."

Okay so his jealousy got the better of him for a bit...he wouldn't say that he would actually trade Chad lives, but he knew that how HE viewed Chad? History and what not? How Taisen viewed Chad? He'd switch lives in a heart beat, of course if he knew Chad's past in more detail? He...well he might not, but knowing that in detail would have been inexplicable, so he didn't, so could he be truly blamed for wanting to be Chad?

"You know? I wished I had half the courage you do. If Jordan ever came banging on my door, screaming bloody murder for help? You want to know the truth? There would be a...few seconds...a minute maybe? Before I would be able to act, and EVEN THEN, if is was too big, too strong? I can't say I'd do anything but run."
Ashamed he looked away, sure he hadn't known Jordan for a long time...but she was younger than he was, and she could...switchport things...Taisen could AT LEAST stab things, his chivalry REALLY needed some tweaking, and he knew he was a yellow-bellied coward.

"Yet, despite that, you offered you services as protection if I ever needed it. I kinda wished I was as strong as you. Hell both physically and mentally." Taisen shrugged it off and used the back of his hand to scratch his nose, before looking back at Chad finally.

But now he'd smiled. "Well...Don't worry man, I got a feeling I'm not going to make a better friend than you here. Be it boy, or girl...But I do hope I can meet a couple lady friends who I CAN bond with eventually." His smile spread into a grin, and he'd hoped the tension was letting loose, and maybe now that they'd both gotten some stuff off their chests, they could relax a bit.

Chad blinked for a few moments, had Taisen said... what he had just heard? Taisen, this guy who had been popular, who had had an easy life, who was a star... Felt like switching places? Now this was something Chad had never seen coming, not even miles away from. So of course he blushed the more.

His reaction was perhaps one of the most impulsive ones ever, but Chad was impulsive by nature; he hugged Taisen, holding him tight in his arms Thanks. Was all he could get out, before he noticed what he was just doing and then released Taisen, ashamed.

I... ugh... You know... got carried by emotions... Chad explained, blushing furiously, but smiling softly to Taisen... He should by courtesy explain Taisen about his past, since he had explained Chad his. So he let out a sigh and picked up Taisen's bag, offering it to the other boy before starting to walk again. I guess I owe you this one... Besides, I guess it'd be good for you to know... I didn't have a choice, I had to become strong or die... Before I arrived to the school, I was pretty much no one... I grew in an orphanage, just met my father a few weeks ago; the place sucked, the owner used us to hunt... Make a guess where I picked my skills as a shooter; I started hunting when I was... what? six or seven...

Chad began to explain, though his history would sadden anyone, and would usually make Chad feel sad, explaining it to Taisen had a whole different meaning, and even made him smile, so Taisen knew just how lucky he was. When I was ten I left that place... stupid move, I ended wandering the streets for half a year before I got adopted... Everything seemed to go well 'till the dawn... My foster father took me to the edge of a forest in Alberta, handed me the guns I have as well as some other things, and told me to run, else he'd fill me with lead... I ran, and he got a rifle outta the back of the car... I was lucky to live out of that one... He then... Well... He blew his head off... He paused there for a second, looking down to the dirt... This was perhaps one of the hardest parts for Chad.

With a sigh and a shake of his head, he continued Lived two years in the forest, then sneaked into a ship and came here... Crazy things happened here, I begun working in Enso, met this woman called Lyara... She's a really powerful sorceress, but... Man, she ALWAYS brings troubles, she stands to her Raven transformation... Whatever... She helped me make a club in one abandoned building in Kaban... You should come one of this days, there's where I got the money for the bike. Chad explained, now with a bright smile, then he explained how he met Issac and Kune, the drama that lead them to be together, and yeah... All in all, he opened to Taisen like a book.

So yeah... I needed to be strong to survive... and nowadays, I need to be strong for my friends... Though inside... I'm pretty damn weak. If something were to happen to any of you... I don't know what I'd do... So... Still wanna swap places? Chad explained, smiling softly to Taisen, looking to him to see what he had to say.

He was about to say something else, maybe...maybe an apology? Was Chad going to be upset? Probably...You can't exactly tell someone you'd rather be them...act as if their life wasn't hard, so when Chad took a step forward, Taisen instinctivly flinched, waiting for a punch that didn't come, instead, it was an embrace, which shocked him, not that he wanted to pull away...For Taisen he might have been shocked, but he didn't have the WANT to push Chad away, and in a way, he welcomed it. It was getting harder and harder for a man to show emotion without being labeled on their sexuality...Taisen on the other hand, he always told people he was "Multi-sexual". He loved everyone, and he'd be damned if he was ever labeled for any action he'd done. Though if you HAD to label him...yeah he was straight, but he knew how to interpret actions.

A hug was a hug, and if he wasn't shocked by the fact that he THOUGHT he was going to get slugged, he might have returned the gesture. When the embrace ended, he shook his head and returned the smile to Chad, and accepted his bag, placing it back onto his back. Chad knew it was no big deal, they were connected fairly well, just a few days had passed, and he honestly felt like he'd known Chad a LOT longer than a couple days.

For the story, Taisen didn't speak, but instead listened, always looking at Chad, saying he was interested in the story was a severe understatement. It felt like something he HAD to know, like if Chad just decided to clam up, and not speak, Taisen would die, so it was important to shut his mouth and listen.

The tone was definitely dark, it wasn't like his own life...he'd been lucky, like Chad said, all his life, until Evo's Dawn, and EVEN after, he was lucky enough to MEET Chad on his first day here. Maybe he was charmed by some greater force.

At the end, Taisen looked straight ahead now, mulling over Chad's question. "I dunno man...Maybe." He swallowed hard, trying to find the words, trying to put himself in Chad's story...Just thinking about it made him feel like crap, but then he cleared his throat again. "Because I couldn't have done it. I couldn't have survived through all that. It would take someone insanely strong to make it through. You're not weak, you're amazing. I stand by what I said man, you are the...definition of strength." He closed his mouth again and thought about himself. He was scared of pain, and he'd experienced this feeling for two months, Chad put up with it for years.

"I know from the outside looking in, everything always looks better. For me, there are pieces of myself that wishes I was strong like you. That I could be someone with that much mental, and physical strength. But yeah, of course I..." How to put it so he didn't sound like an ass hole. "I'm scared to suffer like you have. But I envy you for your strength. I couldn't stand two months of it, I was to the point where..." Say it? Yes? No? Trust Chad?

"To the point where I didn't think it was worth it...Life. You know. I had to deal with this feeling for two months, and this place was my last hope. You've deal with the pain for so much longer, and I was giving my life one month to stop the hurt." Jeez....what WAS it about Chad that made him spill everything like this? Sure he was SOCIAL...but THIS close this fast?

"I took the ride here, and I just had to keep telling myself that in a months time. I wouldn't hurt any more, and now I've got you. It's like my divine luck sent me an angel." He was serious...but he cracked a large grin. "Except in the form of a handsome wolf boy." A look to Chad, then a small chuckle. "I want to be strong like you, because I'm weak. Physically, mentally, spiritually...I'm depending on you to save me."

Damn, touching, sincerity. Taisen was being sincere with Chad, and they knew the other for what? a week or so. Really, Chad was happy on one side when Taisen told him the things straight, and then calling him an angel, a handsome wolf-boy... Wow, it had Chad blushing furiously, and he knew quite well the reason. Taisen didn't look bad at all, he was, in Chad's opinion, one of the most handsome persons he knew.

I'll be honest... I know what you mean... Because I've been there twice... Once when my ex died... second when I thought I'd lose my lovers... There are days life is a hell bro, count with me to stand by your side on those days, I know things get better now. Chad said with a smile to Taisen, yep, he was talking not only about the two times when he wanted to commit suicide; which by themselves were quite secret, but about Migueria's death... What did Taisen have that made Chad feel so easy? Well, the fact that he was sincere, and that he was looking up to him.

So yeah... I don't comment this a lot, but man, you've been so open with me, you deserve to know the truth. You know what? I'm glad I met you, because you can understand me and what I've gone through... Should drag you to the club, maybe there you'd find some hotties to bond with, or at least spend a good one night time. Chad said, first he was serious, however, when he talked about the club, there was a large grin on his face.

His arm embraced Taisen's neck, going from one side to the other in a sign of friendship. I can't believe you're a virgin though, I mean, just look at you! you're handsome, charismatic, played baseball, heck, you're a smart jock! you know how rare is that!? Chad said enthusiastically, perhaps revealing a bit too much of what he thought about Taisen... Yep, there were that kind of thoughts about his brother in Chad's mind, but out of respect to Taisen, and respect to his lovers, he wasn't going to do any move.

Man, girls in the campus will make a line to date with ya, be sure of that, and hanging out with Sawyer and me... Well, what can I say? Sawyer might not be really social, but he's in the tops of the hottest guys in the campus, and I... I'm just a fucking lucky wolf. He said with a smirk, remembering to ask about how he was doing with his roomie. Speaking of it, how're you going with Sawyer?

It was a tough subject to face you know? Suicide...it was always something Taisen didn't like to think about, the feeling of not existing, the feeling of simply vanishing from the universe as he knew it. Hell, how could he pretend that it was simply terrifying, but at the same time, the pain in his chest got unbearable at times, there were times when he just felt...hopeless. When he was younger, he'd always had bad days, and always wished he'd never been born...but he was young and stupid, but he was older now, and to be honest? The feeling of emptiness, loneliness in the past months just glorified death.

But well...if the rest of his time on the Twin Campuses were spent like this? Then yeah, he might as well stick around, which brought a smile to his face, finding a place to belong was all he wanted since the beginning, and maybe he finally found a place.

"Don't worry man. You don't go telling Jordan that I'm a coward, and I'll keep all your secrets as well." He grinned up at Chad as he talked about the ladies. "Oh yeah. I'm definitely a clubber man. Picking up chicks might as well be one of my abilities after the Dawn. Except I've ALWAYS had this gift." He joked a bit about it, and gave Chad a slight elbow to his ribs when he brought up the "V" word. "Ssssssh keep it down, people will start to think I'm creepy and desperate." He joked back again, this time adding a little more.

"Besides, to be fair, I have a hard time getting close to people unless I feel a connection. You know, like...Of course I'll kiss a girl if I like them, but like, I've frozen up on every chance I've gotten because I always asked myself if I SHOULD be doing THAT with a girl that I wasn't sure if my heart was into. You know what I mean?" He thought about his own answer for a moment...come to think of it, he wouldn't admit that to anyone else BUT Chad, for other people, he just said he got shot down, or something bad happened.

Then came the compliment about girls. "I dunno man. Jordan seemed pretty shy around me, I'm pretty sure she's in her room right now crushing hard on me."
But them came the question about Sawyer, and Taisen remembered something he'd wanted to talk to Chad about for some times.

"I dunno man. There are no humans in that room with me. I've hung out, and searched the entire place...There is a locked door, but no matter how much I knock, no answer. I'm pretty sure whoever was in there, is no longer living there..." Well...there was times when something would be missing from the fridge, a dirty dish here, a magazine moved there...the remote sitting in a different location...but it could have been a coincidence, something he did, and just forgot about.

Chad smiled warmly to Taisen, damn lucky kids for having met the other right? Taisen was boosting Chad's ego like no one had done before, and Chad... Chad was there to support Taisen, and who knew? Perhaps to give him some of his strength. Hopefully, Taisen would become stronger without needing all the drama and suffering that Chad had to go through to become strong.

Then came the question about Sawyer... Chad knew for a fact that Sawyer was rarely ever in the dorm, but given the days they had been in there, Chad thought he would have already seen his dorm mate. Oh well... Perhaps he should drag both to the club, they could have a really, REALLY fun night together.

The wolf-boy smiled to Taisen and chuckled lightly Yeah, Sawyer isn't often in the dorms; he's usually out till very late and when he's in his dorms... He's often in a "don't bother" action... If you get what I mean. He said, hitting Taisen's ribs lightly before he paid attention to where they were.

They had been walking for a while now, and they were so focused with the talk that he had forgotten to pay attention to the way the went by. Now, if Chad could see the sun, he could easily tell what way to go to return... But... the dense vegetation made it impossible to see it. Urrgh... Bro... You don't mind to sleep in the wilds... Do you? 'Cause... I think we've got lost. Chad stated, looking around before turning on his tracks... Perhaps he could track their scent back to the begin of the swamp, but... Better be ready to spend the night there.

Taisen grinned at what Chad said about Sawyer, he could TOOOOOTALLY relate to guys only spending time in their room to sleep, and get "alone time". Of course his alone time was simply smooching, or...well that. But when you're as social as Taisen, you just don't find yourself spending very much time in your room. Taisen knew how that went, of course he liked to hang out, but most of his time was spent in the bigger city, so he always had places to go, and people to see, so if he was going to play a game, he'd be in an arcade or something.

Wait, what did he just say? Taisen stopped and turned around, how far had they walked? How much time had passed? Taisen gave a worried look to Chad before letting out a sigh and rubbing his head. "No. It's all good, you're looking at the most versatile THING in existence." He grinned and and pulled at his backpack straps, which held his baseball bat, and a few small oddities that he usually carried around with him, his cell phone, a notebook, music player, just the normal things a kid his age would have...and a metal bat of course that was a little strange...he guessed.

"Gotta say though. This place is kinda creepy..."
He gulped and then cleared his throat. "But the school would have searched this place over and over and over again right? Like, they wouldn't let us in here unless it was safe yeah?" His mind instantly started playing tricks on him, now that he realized how creepy it was, something always moved right out of his line of vision...

Chad had to agree with the creepiness of the Swamps... But... Should he tell Taisen about the local legends? Sure, Taisen deserved to know the truth but... He'd rather avoid panicking his new friend with what he considered were superstitions... Then again, the rule tended to say, that no matter how illogical it was, it was possible.

Eh Taisen... isn't to scare you or similar... but you better be aware... Rumors and locals say that this swamp is haunted... And even some friends of mine said to have seen zombies and what not around this place... So... Yeah, just so you're ready... The wolf-boy stated, starting to walk to what he guessed had to be the right direction, at least from where a scent of them came from.

A smile formed in Chad's face as he looked over to Taisen and held him tightly, his arm surrounding his shoulders Well, let's not worry about it right? I mean... Zombies? Sure, I'm a half wolf, and you're a magi... but Zombies? They ain't real, just bu- However before he finished the phrase something snapped behind them, Chad's ears perking high and his tail puffed in a natural reaction of fear.

He turned to see, but there was nothing... Well, at least not a zombie moaning for brains, so the wolf-boy just shrugged and kept walking, making sure to, every now and then, slash a tree with his switchblade. Yeah, he'd be nuts if he left his dorm without his bag of holding.

The light was dimming, which meant just two possible things... It was going to rain... or night was falling... And Chad was more inclined towards the second. He growled out loud, how could he have forgotten something as essential as marking their way? He felt bad for getting Taisen lost with him.

Taisen wasn't afraid of no ghosts! To be fair, Taisen dealt with Spirits, and he knew that unless they gave themselves a tangible form, they couldn't DO anything, there was no "half" physical BS he'd seen in movies. At least...not according to the books he had to study up in. So if there was ghosts, spirits, or other crazy stuff here, he had no problem with them, if they were invisible, or using their spectre powers, so what, no harm done to he and Chad...and if they turned tangible, Chad could kick their ass, or he could bluff like he was a master Magi sealer. So yeah, those he could handle...

"J-just what?" He jerked around to take a look when Chad stopped mid sentence. Now Taisen didn't have an over active imagination. He was nearly insane when it came to things like this! He often times scared himself more than other things scared him...Like when he was 7, and he obtained a fear of his toy box because he had a glow in the dark dinosaur...it terrified him, because it only lit up at night, and at that age, he didn't know it was glow in the dark. So yeah, despite Chad being so close...SUPER close, sheesh they were probably a perverted girls fantasy...

Even with Chad so close, he still felt worried. As they walked, Chad marked their path, Taisen was smart enough to realize a good idea, and he got one of his own. He was no ace fighter...But slowly he pulled his courage up, or better yet, the fear ran over him in waves, which caused him to pull his bat from the backpack, and carry it in one hand, over his shoulder. He shot Chad a wordless grin...Just in case anything popped out...Taisen would at least be able to help.

As it got darker, he shot a worried look at Chad. "Did you tell anyone where we was heading when you left? I'da left a note but...Well I figured Sawyer didn't live there..." He didn't blame Chad for this, but he did hope help would arrive...or at least that they would get out of all this.

But hey...Come to think of it...

"You've never seen my powers...have you? Maybe we'll get "lucky" and you'll get to see me transform." He grinned now, trying to lighten the mood a bit for Chad, at least let him see that Taisen wasn't upset with him.

Chad smiled slightly, hopefully they didn't get lucky and have to use their powers... But the fact that Taisen had drawn his bat... It just made Chad wonder if it'd be a good idea to draw his guns already... He took a deep breath in, he needed to think clearly.

And as he inhaled and looked over, Chad froze with what he saw... Over them, hanging from the barks of the trees in a net like structure... Were several skulls, He had a moment of doubt, before looking straight forth and then over to Taisen, he was pale... But he wasn't going to let Taisen look to what he had seen.

Whatever you do... Don't. Look. Up... Got it? Chad said and kept walking, dragging Taisen along with him. He blinked and looked back again, the skulls were still there... So it wasn't just an invention of his mind to scare him... This decided it. He stopped for a moment, drawing both guns and chambering a shot... He didn't want his skull there for sure.

Told Kune and Issac I'd be over the swamps... but I dunno if they'll come... I mean, I usually go out to the forest and return until the night... Chad explained, walking and trying to avoid the topic, though his mind kept going back to what he had just seen... Skulls...

As they walked more, they arrived at what looked to be an abandoned cabin... If things came to worse, they could sleep there and then in the morning keep looking for their way. This sounded like the best alternative since the darkness was starting to make it hard to look their way, even if Chad's eyes were better than a human's in the dark, he knew his limits.

You don't mind to sleep here right? If you want, I'll stay awake and be sure nothing happens. He offered, opening the door, and looking the interior... A single bed, a kitchen, a fire place, a bathroom, and a mat... Looked good enough right? Walking over the table, Chad picked one match and lighted the oil lamp. He sat on one chair in the kitchen, putting his guns inside the waist of his pants.

Taisen tilted his head...and his curious nature got the best of him...don't look up? Might at well shove a steak dinner in front of a person who hadn't eaten in a week, and tell them that if they eat that Steak, they will also win a million dollars...but then warning them not to eat it. That was basically the situation he'd put Taisen in...how could he NOT look up.

Slowly his eyes traveled up, and his neck had tilted back a ways...but then he stopped, and continued to move forward, and he didn't look up. If Chad said not to, he knew it had to be a good reason, even though his curiosity was pulling him to the (unknown to him) skulls in the net, he himself trusted Chad enough not to look. He loosened the grip on the bat, and hung close to Chad, tapping the bat lightly on a tree every now and again, holding it lack luster with one hand. If worst came to worst...he'd let Chad take care of everything.

Creepy cabin in the woods? Two teenagers, super powers or not...close to Halloween, Chad telling him not to look? Obviously...they were dead.

"Yeah sure. Maybe if we ask nicely, the zombies will kill us right away instead of eating us alive." He chuckled, and looked back behind them, his eyes played tricks on him again as they walked inside the cabin, and he closed the door behind him...Making sure to flick the small lock...as if it still worked.

He took a seat at the table with Chad, and shot him a grin. "Nah...I might be kind of scared, but...Well I feel safer if I'm awake, and able to run." He laughed slightly, the bat still resting on his lap, he tapped his foot slightly before his eyes trailed to the door. "So like...Aside from riding that sweet motorbike, and dragging new kids off to scare them shitless, what do you do for fun around here?"

Right, if he wanted, he could also stay awake, Chad didn't mind... However, the fact that Taisen considered real the threat of zombies... Well, it worried Chad. After all, the one to deal with spirits here was Taisen... And Chad had dealt with few, but really, FEW of them.

At Taisen's question, the wolf-boy chuckled, yeah in part his plan was to scare Taisen, but... He hadn't planned to get lost, nor to see skulls in a net, nor to find a cabin in the middle of the swamps... But what did Chad do for fun? Eh, sometimes I go to the forest for a run, and others... I use the Bushido Chambers to spar, or turn 'em into some exotic place... Man you should see the simulations they've got! You can literally travel around the world in there. Chad said, evidently the question managed to get Chad to momentarily forget about the circumstances.

I also frequent a shooting range, one of the few here... There you can meet pretty amazing people and hear some neat stories, and of course work your skills... I also work out, a lot, especially when stressed. Chad explained, grinning to Taisen before he looked out the window from the kitchen... Now, the place was much, MUCH creepier.

The wolf-boy could see in the distance some lights... Will-o-wisps without doubt; they weren't unusual in swamps, but the legends linked to them... Were pretty creepy. Snapping back, he looked to Taisen And you? Besides trying to get girls into your pants, hanging out with handsome wolves-boys and playing baseball... What do you do to have fun? Chad smirked playfully, his tail actually wagging a bit behind him now that they were somewhat safe inside the cabin.

Now Taisen had already been in a plane, and he'd been to America once, and of course he was Japanese, so he'd seen some things from back home...but he'd never experienced some sights, like a rain forest, or a large grassland, or hell, a rocky mountain was something he'd also never been to, so maybe a visit these "Bushido cambers" and look for these simulations...He was no nature lover, but some things he'd seen in pictures looked breathtaking just seeing them in a photograph.

If simple pictures did that, he wanted to see some of these amazing sights, even if it was just a simulation.

When Chad asked him what he did in his spare time, he hesitated for a moment, then grinned.

"Well sitting in a creepy cabin isn't exactly on my top list of things to do. But hanging out with people I like is more or less the basis for everything." He rubbed at his eye and yawned a bit, it wasn't that late, and he wasn't too tired to be honest...but why did he yawn then? Maybe his brain was sleepy? He felt great though.

"I like to hang out. Which usually means just bum around and do something. Video games, going to the mall, just hanging around talking I guess. But I like to work out...I'm not quite ripped, but it's always good to test yourself, and focus on getting better. Sports in general...I like to be active I guess." But this got him thinking about his future...

His only major skill was baseball, and he doubted he could get a job talking to dead people...then again on TV, even before the Dawn he saw people "claiming" to have the ability to speak to the dead. But yeah, he didn't think he could do that for a living, so what would he do with his life? His hobbies included chatting with friends more or less.

He shrugged it off and put his bat on the end of his shoes, and kicked at it, bouncing it up and down on his foot a few times, the nearly silent bat making a light sound as it rebounded off his foot.

Chad smiled to Taisen and yawned too, the wolf-boy wasn't sure what time it was when they left the dorms, it had to be perhaps... six, six and a half at much, Chad hadn't planned to go beyond eight in the swamps and yet... Here they were after the sunset. He looked out of the window, it was quiet, calm and no one was out there... The only noteworthy noises were the crickets.

Wondering his sight back into the room, and assuming the place was quite safe, now far more calm than before... Chad placed his guns on the table, taking the clip off before ejecting the chambered shots... It was better to not have loaded weapons while nervous right?

With the shots out, the wolf-boy added them to the clips and put them back into the guns, however this time didn't chamber the shots. He looked up to Taisen and smiled, however he quickly paled, behind him, apparently floating and suspended by very thin strings were several skulls.

T... Taisen... L... Look back... Tell me... Do you... See skulls? Okay this one was absolutely necessary, Chad needed to be sure it wasn't his mind playing tricks on him, he couldn't blink, he was frozen in surprise and fear... What was going on? Should Taisen actually turn around, he'd find this threads of skulls.

Watching Chad work his way around his firearms fascinated the curious one. He watched as he pulled, pushed, and slid the guns around, obviously he was taking precautions, which Taisen couldn't say he felt any more, or less safe when he had finished it all. He trusted Chad personally, to make any correct choices. But it still amazed him at how nimble he was, how correct, there was no awkwardness in his movements, it reminded Taisen slightly of how he himself would practice pitching, the fluid motions he practiced over, and over, and over again would pay off in a real game, and he could sail through the fluid motion like it was nothing.

With Chad's words, Taisen cracked a grin. It was all becoming clear..."A hazing?" New guy on campus, close to the "eve of evil" and what not, the scariest time of the year and all. It was obvious, Taisen would turn around, fake skulls, they expected him to scream like a girl again, they'd get chased or whatever...Everyone would laugh at Taisen for being a big chicken heart. He smirked, he was onto Chad...Now just turn around, these skulls will be fake.

He turned halfway around in his chair, and looked at the skulls. At first, he just mentally laughed at them...no worries, they're plastic...but they sure didn't look like fake skulls...was he wrong? Wait. He looked back to Chad, his face was...Oh god...

As fast as he could move, which, for a chicken heart and someone used to getting out of harms way, was VERY fast, he pushed himself not only out of the chair, but instead of just moving out of the way and trying to back up, he shoved himself on the table, and pushed himself across it until he hit the other side with a thud.

"Th-The hell is that!!! Not cool man! If this is s-some creepy joke, you g-got me so call it off." He waved a finger in the skulls direction, and mumbled something in his native Japanese tongue that translated to roughly a string of curse words that made no coherent sense other than someone in a panicked situation saying the first thing that came to mind.

As Taisen was busy cussing out the skulls, he tried his very best to stay behind the table, close to Chad, and as much as he wanted to just run, he stood strong. His grip on the bat intensified until his knuckles turned white from the grip.

To say this was a joke made by Chad... Would be a mistake, the wolf-boy was as surprised as Taisen, and why not, scared too, picking his guns up, Chad shock his head as he held Taisen close, his mind... Focused in the only thing they needed... He was focused in surviving.

Not a joke dude... I don't play this kind of shit. Chad said, his voice sounded serious, cold... This was perhaps what differenced them, their way to react to fear... While Taisen's reaction was to flight, Chad's was totally different, his was to fight. In the middle of his thoughts about what could be wrong, Chad looked up to the ceiling, the only thing they hadn't seen... It was a big dark void.

With a growl, Chad walked with Taisen out of the kitchen, checking over the ceiling there... Like a hole without end, it seemed to extend beyond belief. Let's get out- He began to say, however, there was a loud knocking at the door, slamming actually, sounded as if someone wanted to come in. Then on the kitchen window, when Chad turned around, the wolf-boy swore before raising his guns and shooting, out there, just where Chad had shot, had been a zombie.

Literally, Chad had NEVER given credit to all the legends and what not, but now, he had just blow the head off of a rotting, pale, soil covered zombie. Fuck... Taisen... Don't panic, keep the head cold and get ready for one fucking party here. Chad said, the incessant knocking at the door culminated with it being slammed down by another zombie, the rotting smell accompanied it and made Chad snarl before he rose his guns again and shot.

Time to show off dude. Chad said, his form shifting to that of a werewolf, still holding the guns... This was time to use every single resource in their hands to survive.

As Chad looked up, Taisen did too, he shook his head at the abyss, twitching slightly, but drawn in by the sight. It was black, darkness, kinda scary, but alluring at the same time. It made him want to just reach out and try to touch it, and it took Chad moving, his feet shuffling before Taisen was jerked back to the real world, where he was scared, his heart was pounding, and he was in danger. The kitchen had the same roof, and when Chad begun to suggest getting out...Taisen nodded his head in agreement. It was better to be outside, in the dark...at least they didn't have to worry about being in an enclosed space like this with a freaky ass ceiling.

But he was cut off as something started to bang on the door. Taisen spun around on his heels and pulled the bat up, gripped with two hands, held close to his chest. Then something behind him, in the kitchen, then...gun fire. He froze in place, unable to move, or speak, or even breath for a second. That sound, it was terrifying, the last time he'd heard that noise...He instinctively rubbed at his chest, then put his hands back on his bat, remembering Chad used guns.

When the front door burst open, and the zombies appeared, along with their stench, Taisen used his forearms to cover his nose from the strong odor, then let out a small whimper. Keep cool? Show off...

"Uhh...Yeah..." He held the metal bat out in front of him, and said a few words, something a translator would only pick up as a magic incantation with no translation other than what it sounded like. The words flew from his mouth, the baseball bat glowed white, then he lowered it, and cursed under his breath. "Shit! Gotta stay calm, gotta stay calm, gotta stay calm." He took a deep breath, shut his eyes, and again held his bat out in front of himself. The only words he needed to say this time, was something understood, and translated easily.

"IZANAGI! AWAKEN!" Taisen's transformation was simple, instead of sliding into, and morphing into Izanagi's form, the spirit appeared around Taisen, almost like an aura, ghost like, and slightly wisp like. Then, the aura around Taisen begun to form, until Taisen was no longer visable, and instead the bigger, stronger form stood next to Chad, the metal bat was now a sword.

Even his voice was different, the language he spoke in as well. "Don't worry. We got this." Ohh, his voice, although different. Carried that same tone of Taisen. Cocky, self assured, confident in their abilities...Except it stayed, even in the face of danger. So transforming wasn't just something that made him a little stronger physically, but mentally as well.

Chad growled, this wasn't good at all, they needed to get out, and needed to do so now... But how, the way behind the door... was quickly getting filled with zombies, then again, if they did nothing... They'd be trapped there forever. He looked over to Taisen, his transformation was surely more discrete, but... Man, wasn't his looks impressive? Chad smiled back to him and nodded, racing to the door and jumping out of it; standing in front the newly formed army of zombies.

Now, there had to be at least sixty zombies... the good side was that, just as the average zombie, they were slow. Chad smirked, showing his fangs, the moonlight shining over them giving him more than enough light to see what he was doing. Hurry up Taisen! Chad said, starting his part of the show with the zombies that crawled too close to him.

kicks, slashes, shots and punches, Chad was a black blur as he fought his way through the wall. In this short fight, the wolf-boy had easily killed already ten of the zombies... The downside... More kept appearing from the ground. The wolf-boy knew that he would never be able to kill all of them but he wasn't about to leave Taisen behind.

Blasting the heads off of two zombies that came by his sides, Chad turned to look at Taisen, waving to him... Now wasn't time to doubt, now was time to run, and run as far as they could.
