Frame Model Custom Model SLV 0029 WMC 002 CASF (Custom Assault Stealth Frame) Code Name: 'Yuugumo' Appearance: ![]() Weapons Melee/Ranged: 'Amaterasu' Anchored Blades Normally hidden between the forearm armor piece and the fists of the unit, 'Amaterasu' anchored blade is a short dagger-sword that can be extracted via shooting. Enhanced with a coat of anti-particle energy coating, the dagger-sword can be extremely detrimental if it is used as a projectile against an enemy of short range. As the blades are hidden within both units' forearm, the dagger-sword is one of the shorter melee weapon seen in any of the units of its age. However, the long connection that the end of the blades has with the unit itself allows the dagger-sword to be used as short-range projectile, and then quickly switch back into extremely-close ranged battle weapon. Melee/Ranged: 'Tsukuyomi' Half-moon Boomerang A pair of quarter-moon parts found attached to the lower back of 'Yuugumo', 'Tsukuyomi' serves two purposes. When in quarter-moon shape, the parts becomes two beam sabers slightly longer than that of 'Amaterasu' anchored blades. When combined in half-moon shape, 'Tsukuyomi' becomes a throwing boomerang that project an extremely compressed beam edge along its sharp end. In addition, the joint between the two quarter-moon parts becomes a concentration of raw beam energy that can be controlled by 'Yuugumo' to explode upon contact. Also, when held by 'Yuugumo', 'Tsukuyomi' is in proportion of a bow. Due to its size, 'Tsukuyomi' Half-moon Boomerang is usually used as anti-ship weapon. After contact, 'Tsukuyomi' will separate into two halves, releasing the raw beam energy at the gap that the boomerang has managed to split open on the armor of the ship, and cause a highly damaging explosion on the ship while 'Yuugumo' retrieve the two ends of 'Tsukuyomi' that recoils back towards the unit. Specialty: 'Naught' mode. The armor of 'Yuugumo' is specifically designed to be able to manipulate light source to render its outward appearance to be invisible. In addition to the invisibility to the eyes, a detector jamming system is also installed in the unit, enabling the unit to completely be 'off the radar', so to speak. The mecha in this stage is considered to have its 'Naught' mode activated. This mode is connected directly to the activation of the M-DAT latency ability of Florence Aestival, as 'Yuugumo' is a highly customized unit designed for this pilot. In combination with the M-DAT latency of its pilot, Yuugumo will completely disappear from all form of detection. However, 'Naught' Mode is not a perfect system. Due to the constantly changing of light source and surrounding, Yuugumo's system needs to detect, re-evaluate and readjust the 'Naught' Mode to its surrounding again. In conjunction to this, Florence Aestival's M-DAT latency will also be deactivated forcefully by the system for a short period of time, leaving the unit exposed to detection. This readjusting process takes a short while of around 3 minute (approximately 2 post), and this adjustment needs to take place every 7 minutes and 30 seconds, meaning that 'Yuugumo' can stay invisible for about 8 minutes (approximately 4 posts, including the post of activation) before it reappears on the radar again. Due to energy drain of the 'Naught' Mode on the unit, the unit cannot maintain the mode for more than 30 minutes in one single deploy (4 uses in a fight topic), unless it has returned to the mother-ship and recharge at the time between the 30 minutes. In addition, the 'Naught' mode needs a set up link between the pilot and the unit. However, the link of M-DAT Latency and the system of 'Yuugumo' is usually not linked up until 2 minutes into the battle, (approximately one post), thus making it time consuming before 'Yuugumo' can go into stealth. Pilot: Florence Aestival Mech info: WMC 002 CASF series is a customized model series based on unit frame SLV 0029, one of the more successful Series Two SLV units by ASL. It is a unit specifically created for infiltration missions, intelligence collection and sneak attacks. It is designed to be fast, and especially good in running away. It is a hit-and-run unit, to put it simple. To suit the need of Florence Aestival in combat, WMC 002 CASF 'Yuugumo' is further enhanced with an armor that will enable the unit to blend into its surrounding completely. In addition, radar, sonar and heat sensor jammers are being installed on the unit, allowing the unit to completely disappear from the sight of a battle, in both human eyes and physical, technological tracker. In combination to Florence Aestival's M-DAT latency to be invisible in even the M-DAT latency sense, 'Yuugumo' becomes completely undetectable in battle. 'Yuugumo' is a custom model funded and designed by technicians in Wolf's Private Military Company one year ago, using the frame of SLV 0029 as the main base, thus making the unit more suitable in space battles. However, in order to make 'Yuugumo' also sufficient for on-Earth battles, 'Yuugumo' is designed to be an melee based unit with a limited ability of ranged battles, which, coincidentally, is extremely compatible with Florence Aestival, for she has been trained extensively in close ranged combat. 'Yuugumo' is designed originally to be a stand-alone unit, in that it should be able to battle without the reinforcement or support of another unit. Thus, 'Yuugumo' is designed to have a stronger power output than normal 'grunt' WMC 002 CASF units. 'Yuugumo' means 'sunset clouds' in Japanese. Its two equipments, 'Tsukuyomi' and 'Amaterasu' are the Shinto deity of the Moon and the Sun respectively. The naming of the unit and its weapon were all mandated by Florence Aestival. so the unit is invis for seven posts out of every eight? That's impossible for enemies to fight. Lengthen the cool down and decrease the duration. |

It's actually 1 out of 4 posts. The first post is deploy, and it's visible. Then the activation on the next post, which could towards the limit, and then on the fourth post it is deactivated. Then the next post starts up again. Think of it in this sequence. OFF OFF/ON ON ON ON/OFF OFF OFF/ON ON ON ON/OFF etc. Please let me know if this still needs a tone down. |

being invisible more than it's visible is a hard sell. It makes it much too hard to fight. But it's also completely impossible for you to be stealthy if it's off/on/off/on so rather than off on off on why not give it a charge, like XX number of uses in a thread, this way you can still maneuver around invisibly while also still being restricted. |

The Off/On is an indication of need for me to indicate the switch on/off of the unit's ability. The first indication happens in the beginning of the post and second indicate what it will end up to be. I do hate the idea of putting a restriction on the unit's invisibility due to the fact that the concept of pilot and the unit are based on purely the word "invisibility". Taking that aspect away, is rendering the purpose of the unit and the pilot useless and pointless. However, note taken, put a restriction of 4 usages per posts unless the unit has returned to the hanger/mothership at the meantime of deploying, which, as we probably know, probably do not happen. I have also put a prohibition of using the ability on the first post of its deploy. Please let me know if more changes are needed. Edited by Sybilus, Jul 7 2010, 06:50 AM.
