If you erased, for example, China off the map ? If there was no nuclear waste left ? It would be horrible, on emotional level, in my opinion too, and I would never do it. But maybe consuming earth would go a BIT down, when 1/5 of earths population would disappear. There could be some benefits, but no, not worth it. I think global warming is unstoppable. |

Well now, there are at least two different perspectives to the whole way we Americans tend to look at things. For one thing, it's true that most Americans are ignorant of what happens outside of our country. Hell, most people barely know what's going on outside their town or city. Does that mean we are selfish? Possibly; but now we must understand that we have our own lives to live and have our own issues to worry about. Before we can go out and start poking our noses everywhere and criticizing everyone else of their wrongdoings, we need to fix our own issues. Have we done such things yet? Some will argue yes, but I personally think not. And does that give us an excuse to not be aware of what is happening elsewhere? Absolutely not. So I suppose it all depends on your priorities and opinions...and our government and people still need to set them straight, but so do the countries in the Middle East. I'm not fully aware of the specific events/conflicts between the Jewish and Islamic people, but from I am able to gather, I think the majority of the Middle East despises the US because of our support for Israel in the Israel-Palestine conflict. After the British cut up now modern-day Israel, the United States became involved and took a stance with the UK/Israel. So now, it is the, "Either-You're-With-Me-Or-Against-Me," type of mentality the Middle East assumed, unfortunately. But we must also remember that the media tends to only focus on the very negative aspects of the events occurring in the world. When you turn on the news, what do you see? People dying, fires destroying property, accidental deaths, corruptions/scandals, more death, etc. It's actually very depressing watching the news. You very rarely see any of that stuff that could possibly make you happy, like animals/pets, awards, etc. The media needs to sell their story, and what better way to do this than by capturing extremist groups rallying through the streets shouting, "Death to America," bearing AK-47s and RPGs, and burning the American flag or some other effigy? It's radically different and Americans are not used to witnessing such behavior occurring in the streets or down the block. So far, I've only seen this type of material in the news here in America - that, and bombings, which lead to deaths and scores of injuries (obviously). I believe people should also blame the media more, because when they broadcast just this material, it can move and upset people (but of course, we should also know how to control ourselves, but that's a slightly different subject). My solution? I believe communication is key (haven't gotten that far, just wait for more details :P). |

Ever heard of the saying "Cruel to be kind". Could apply to this situation. But the way i see it, is that violence doesnt solve anything. |

I would only vouch for a nuclear attack as a last resort, It's really not necessary at the moment. I think we should target neighboring countries and build our relations. We should also make it a priority to express that these factions is not a threat. 911 was embarrassing and so is the world known fear that followed. |

I dont know the reason why millions of people must die because of several people, who want to rule the world and have all the money or land,or who offend eachother. It is the biggest nonsence in the world IMO. |

Well.....being American I can honestly say that not everyone feels this way. The ones I've noticed saying things like this are the ones who are for the war and are extremists IMO. I just get tired of people reading what a handful of Americans post on a forum and automatically assume we're all the same and share the same views. We don't. |

The thing is, if you gave an American a globe with all the country names wiped off it and said 'Point to the middle east, that's where I'll send the nuke!' odds are, everyone throughout the world had better watch out. |
