Unsure of what I want...

I know this is gonna sound weird and I probably should have used the anonymous account for this post, but oh well...
I'm having trouble making a move in my life I've found. I've been doing a course in hopes of getting a full time job that will become a career next year but this isn't what I want I've been realising more and more for the last few weeks. I'm not comfortable in the industry, I've found a few personal ethical problems with it and all round am beginning to think that I'm not exactly suited to it at all.
Of course the course will go on my resume and I don't think there's such a thing as bad education so it hasn't been a waste of time at all, and I feel like I will go into the field for work for a few years at least until I get too far over it, then I'll have to look for work and education elsewhere. but I'm scared that that's too far away as I have so many plans for my life over the next few years that I don't want to have to make flexible. Like I'd like to be supporting a family at the very least within the next five years and I feel like going to university so late would put an economic strain on the life of myself and insha'Allah wifey and stuff...
Maybe I will like the career but what if these things shine through and I really don't?
It's not that I believe everything in my life should be pre-meditated or planned cos that would be boring, it's that I don't want to fail myself or other people and I want to do what I believe I'm suited to. Now I'm leaning towards teaching at an Islamic school. Preferably Geography, History, Social Studies, [Some activistish stuff here] and Islamic studies. Possibly Qur'an if I get get my knowledge on it well...

Guh! What's a guy to do...

D: Hope things work out, Sayf.

How many years will it take to acquire your wanted degree? Maybe you can go through an online course or something so you can manage your life a bit easier as well without worrying about losing a job or economic pressure.

An online course would probably be best but wouldn't that take a fair while. I think I'd like to go onto do Islamic Studies - maybe something on the Qur'an at first. Maybe I'll have to look into this further, I'm just throwing thoughts around in the moment.

I don't know if your Country would do this(Assuming you aren't from England), but in the UK there is an "Open University" that allows you to study from home in your own free time while supporting a family and working. Depending what your income is, the government will either pay the course fee in it's entirety or a sizeable chunk. Even if you are an overseas student, I do think there are some services in place also. I could find their website for you if you wish?

That would be great! I'm in Australia and happen to know there's similar things here. I'd have to look more in depth on how to get into this kind of thing?

I'm not very clued up on it, but have been inquiring as I support a child from a previous relationship and have been wanting to get into a science course. Here's the site - http://www.open.ac.uk/

Hope it helps!
