I was bored, so I decided to do something. I saw the Semiotic userbar in Blue's signature, and decided to make a userbar tut. Hope it's useful. This is for Photoshop 7.0 btw. Start off by opening a new file, with a white bg, with resolution 350 x 19/20 pixels (either). Use the gradient tool to make the bg look like this. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a332/TheFirstPokemonMaster/GRADSETTINGS.jpg Add some scan lines then. To make the pattern for the scanlines, open another file, 6 x 6 pixels. Make your pencil tool one pixel, and make a diagonal line. It should look like this: ![]() After that, go to 'Edit' and choose 'Define Pattern'. Name it anything you want. Get back to your gradient'd userbar, and over there, make a new layer, and from 'Edit' choose 'Fill'. Fill it with the pattern you have made and it should look like this: ![]() Then, take a render, and position it properly on the bar. I am using a Bart Simpson render. ![]() Now, for the text, a commonly used font for userbars is Visitor. Place it on the userbar properly, and after you have typed your text, go to Blending Options (right click on Layer) and choose stroke. It should be 1 pixel, and preferably black. Your userbar should look like this: ![]() And there you have it! Now, you can choose to further enhance it, or let it be. This is my end product: ![]() Now just try and use your own color scheme and render. Try to make it different from typical userbars too. Instead of a gradient for the background, try other things. Happy Userbaring :D. (C) to DaPunhal. Permission required if you would like to post on your site. |

That text is terrible. Not bad tut though, I would suggest a darker border and maybe a white to transparent gradient over the top half (overlay). Otherwise Good Job. |

^ The text used is the standard text for all userbars. It's not like you're restricted to use it. It's just that it's used everywhere. Google it, you'll find out :). |
