And then a few hours later holds a war meeting concerning Afghanistan. We bombed the moon yesterday. Tomorow? The sky's actually not much of a limit. Hopefully Obama will prove himself a better recipient than say, Kissinger or Arafat. This has to be seen as being a big giant wish on the part of the Nobel people.

I think he received the prize more on his inner smaller actions rathe than the bigger ones of war and economy - such as trying to establish the U.S as a cooperative country rather the foreboding monster it seems to have become to the rest of the world, trying to separate the Muslim world from the "Middle East" world of war and terrorism, maybe even for breaking the norm and being able to become the first African American President. Who knows? Hopefully he'll be able to live up true peace.

That is ridiculous that he got it. He was nominated only he had been in office in what? 12 days? What has he actually done that deserved this award? It's ridiculous that he got it when there are so many other people that deserve this award much more.

It's ludicrous that he won. As much as I like Obama and am grateful for the hope he symbolises, I don't think you can award the Nobel Peace Prize based on hope.

As for Kissinger, BAH! He won it jointly with Le Duc Tho, apparently Kissinger was 'instrumental' in orchestrating peace between the US and North Vietnam. What a goddamned joke. The Americans lost the war fair and square, there were never any real solid peacemaking attempts. Oh wait, yes there was! The Geneva Accords in 1954. Too bad the Americans screwed that up!
