"In between the lines, you don't say it so much, but I see" ~ Ayaan Hisri Ali. Best response ever? *Yawn* Personally, I've always thought Ayaan has an emotional reaction to Islaam based on her cultural upbringing. It's clear to anyone who has read Infidel and is informed on what Islam is, how it's practised and how culture tends to get tied up within and bastardise the religion as it should be. I find her rather misinformed. |

I've followed Ayaan for a while - living in the Netherlands it is kind of hard to ignore her. Sometimes she actually makes sense, but most of the time I'm like "girl, that was your home, your childhood experiences & youth" please, stop saying women are not equal in Qu'ran, stop saying Islam will bring only bad things.. stop focussing on the negative Ayaan. What I do understand, the strong feminism she has & her fight for womens rights. But as always it's Ayaan versus the World; and the world is one big hostile place where every muslim man lives only to hurt women. I also think that after her movie Submission (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6CakuoaCf4) and even after the murder of Theo Van Gogh she never got the point that maybe you don't fight extremists with radical and/or emotional based responses(?!) ps. weird fact, she has the same birthday as me (just 15 years earlier) and all other famous people born on that day tend to be actors.. |
