Anyone who knows Excel well, I have a small problem I need help with. I won't bother giving the details of the whole 'project', but basically I have to make an Excel file that you just have to copy and paste a table in and it does a load of stuff to it lol. The problem I have, is that in the table the values are scores, and they are in the format of 4–3. I had to get each them into separate boxes so I can work with them, and I figured that part out by using 'left' and 'right' formulas or whatever they are called. Here's the problem, after doing that they are now considered text and not numbers, so I can't do stuff like auto sum or anything on them. I need either a formula that convert them to the number form, or an alternative to '=left' and '=right' that keeps them in numbers. I know I could easily do it manually, but it has to be done so that all you have to do is copy and paste a table in the beginning and everything between that and the end result is automated. Any ideas? Edited by FMPBeats, Jul 31 2009, 03:01 PM.
